1. Anyone know a good app and gadget to simply play along to iTunes Don't want iRig or anything that requires converting or importing files into the app, but rather something that just allows you to play along to iTunes library with it hassle Thanks for any response
2. Mani? The guy from X-ray specs? Kenny Rogers, maybe not?
3. I've struggled with the which strings, in my very small covers world, as I love flats, but a lot of songs call for rounds, so I now use a mute on the rounds for some songs and then I remove it when I want a bright sustained sound, it seems to work.
4.
Happy Birthday! 21 again, is it..?
Cheers Double that and add 2
5. Never knew I shared my birthday with him, that's made me smile

8.
Photo?
Oh yes please
9.
I was going to start a new thread for this, so as not to piss on anyones parade, but this one I think is as good a place as any for it. I have two questions about YouTube playalong videos. 1. Is there actually any proof that what we are hearing on the soundtrack is the person appearing in the video. For anyone with sufficient time (and these people appear to have lots of it) it's not too difficult to fake. 2. If they are all so freaking awesome on the bass (or whatever other instrument we see them playing) then why are they still stuck in their bedrooms playing along to other people's records? If I had half the technical ability that these people appear to have I would be out there taking every opportunity to play with as many people as possible, gigs and sessions and so on. I know that HJFreaks does do gigs with various bands, but they are all somewhat pedestrian and dull compared with the music he chooses to play along to in his bedroom. Discuss?
Oh you doubter 1. I don't care 2. I don't know
10. I must be lucky then, had issues in bands with weak links, but always been chuffed with the drummers I've come accross, at least in recent years
11. Would you have any interest in a partial trade, for an ampeg pf 500 and 115 ? Im interested in your bass, but would need to shift these first Cheers
12. Surely just playing your lines and being yourself in your movement , without doing anything contrived is cool Anyone who thinks its not is uncool
13.
My keyboard-playing friend is pondering over the rig. Ive sent him a link to Thomann website to highlight its a bargain.
Thanks
14. Ok, for most of us this is something we would to get involved with and be critical of, and rightly so However, there are bands out there you just want to play live and don't get much chance and can't organise it themselves, so if this works for them and gives them a good night, along with their mates who will come and watch, then everyone gets something out of it. But there is great risk involved it could be naff. The fact that if it goes well they won't share any profit with any bands is a different issue I think. There are a few teen bands I know of that would benefit from this type of set up, they maybe being used, but they'll get to play, with little risk if they don't pull it off that well.
15. Every chance I get i will post this song, bass could not be more simple, but it is exactly right. Just like every other bass player I love my bass heavy songs, but it's often the simple ones where you need to really get into the music to keep the groove and enjoy, the simpler the line, the more anything shows if your not on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xwL-7fKKUE&feature=youtube_gdata_player
16. Unless its changed, a fender gig bag , instructions and an allen key for the neck and saddles is about it anyway
17. This weekend I gigged with everything set exactly at 12 o'clock. I then only used volume/tone on the bass.
18. If this where a 4, I might be coming to see you, but hey ho. Anyone interested, buy with confidence, Dave's a good guy to deal with and he knows his gear.
19. I posted this on another thread a while back, to me this is a perfect line for the song, just listen to the fills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xwL-7fKKUE
