Easy to mitigate the scooped mids by using a bit more of the blend. I appreciate that's not idea, but I get a nice mid'y clank with my Sansamp BDDI without too much effort. Si

The Suncoast version had a switch for selecting between the two channels, and then a separate switch for combining them (plus another for bypass of course). Seems like a nice setup?! Si

I had Chromes on my P for a couple of years, started bright, died off nicely as you'd expect. I replaced them with La Bella flats and they instantly sounded like the worn in Chromes, straight out the pack. Lesson? Buy La Bella flats for Precisions Si

When I got my HX Stomp, it wasn’t to replace my main setup, but for a few reasons: 1) ‘Fly-rig’ for gigs that require a much smaller setup. 2) Backup for my main board should something go awry that takes it out the game for a few gigs. Unlikely but whatever haha. 3) While I’m almost always going to use analogue drive and octave pedals, I’m ok with digital everything else….so it was a way to sell all of my random reverb/delay/chorus singles and use the HX Stomp for weirdness/modulation….which is where it shines IMO. 4) As a way of adding a cab sim to my mix when I do the odd gig with a band that uses IEM’s. So for points 1 and 2, I spent quite a long time tweaking the various patches to accurately match my main pedalboard, I had them side by side and would flip between the two. Because I know my main board sounds perfect in a gig setting, it meant that I’m referencing what I know I like tonally and not just trying set up the HX blindly with sounds that work through my headphones in my lounge. I remember thinking ‘oh that’s not how I would have it naturally…’, but trusting that my reference point (main board) was true, so just run with it. Lo and behold, tested he HX on a gig, and I was happy with how it performed. Si

I’ve got an enclosure that I want to build something into, it’s a bit bigger (footprint) than a 1590BB, I think it’s a 6500 (without measuring it). Anyway, there’s plenty of space basically. I’d love to build a fairly fully featured bass preamp, probably something quite dirty sounding, kinda like the Sunnbather from Abominable or the BC2 from Suncoast. Any thoughts on a kit? Would want a PCB rather than a vero build. Any thoughts? Cheers Si

They’re certainly not identical on the audio spec side, but I would personally agree with the rest of what you're saying. All the specs are on the website, but whether the perceived gains are marginal or significant will be down to your ears. What I will say is that I have great sounding releases with artists on Spotify that are recorded using both Scarlett and Clarett. Si // Focusrite

Put the below together for some heavier sounds, although will also work as a more generic ‘fly-board’ thanks to the versatility of the HX Stomp. The DIY pedal on the left is a JMK Big Bass Drive I built a while ago, aside from an LED I need to fix, it actually sounds pretty awesome. I have something else planned for that first drive space though, just waiting for it to arrive back with me (tis out on loan). As always, CIOK doing the heavy lifting here! Si
