1. I recorded my PH-3 on a Corybantic tune today. Sounded awesome! Will post the track when it's mixed & mastered etc Si
2. For a while I used an old Ibanez PH-5, sounded fantastic! Really liked it! I swapped it out for a Boss PH-3 because I just needed something a little more extreme, which it does, but it doesn't sound quite as good as the PH-5 at more 'normal' settings. Si
3. Hi all, Akai Headrush E2 Delay/Echo/Looper - Commonly used as a phrase looper pedal, but extremely underrated as an Echo & Delay. Multiple echo 'head' outs. 8/10 condition. Boxed (Box 6/10 condition). SOLD No trades thanks, other than a Boss RC-30 looper (and ONLY the RC-30) which I can add money to appropriately. Velcro on bottom. Postage is £3 Cheers Si
4. The sonic blue Ray 5HH is very cool, definitely my choice, closely followed by the 30th Anniversary! Si
5. I'll almost certainly be there, even if there's evening gigs to play . Great hang! Si
6. So a refinish (assuming it's just a body refine) should command around half of the full market value. If it's a neck and headstock refin as well, even less. So an £8k 1963 is pretty top money for an all original, I would certainly expect a refin with non-original pickup to go for closer to £3k, maybe even late 2ks if there's other stuff missing. If you want a cool (but expensive project), then get the '63, then find and buy the period correct parts over the coming years, you might end up spending £800 on a pickup, but it will eventually give you an all original '63 (minus the finish of course), you'll certainly learn a lot about vintage Fenders along the way. However, if it doesn't sound or feel perfect for you now, and a relic does, then get the bass that is going to inspire you to play and make you and the band sound the best it can! Si
7.
Glad to see a Focusrite rep on here Si....
Absolutely, although I was certainly a member here before I started at Focusrite But in any case, always happy to field questions etc! Cheers Si
8. My main setup involves a P with flats and an MXR envelope, sounds great!! Yeah the only real difference is how the bass triggers the effect. So i'd argue similar tones are possible from an envelope with a J or P, but the pedal settings will be quite different! Si
9. Don't think TRAPCo is going any more, or rather Shep sold his share to Mark ages ago. I know Dan @ Gig-Rig does this for quite big acts (presumably because it's pretty expensive). It's not something I'd invest in, simply because I'm constantly tinkering and changing stuff, ripping it off and starting again. Unfortunately this means that it's never tidy haha. Sure there's plenty of people who'd be interested, but yeah, needing to be on Facebook in order to view details of the page might be a little restricting perhaps, maybe a Tumblr type holding page would also help. Si
10. Just going to leave this here (headphones needed) https://www.instagra...l_freeman&hl=en Pure love! Si
11. Bump, tidied up the part-exs Cheers Si
12. Will's a great guy, so deal in confidence Si
13. Snap, same spec as my JV Jazz (albeit yours is a year younger). It's probably my fave Jazz I've owned over the years including a '73 and an American Standard. GLWTS Si

18. If it's an originals band, why would you bother with a cover? It's simply going to put your song up against something that people know, and so the perception is they prefer the song they know to your song. Pointless. I struggle with this in an originals band I play for, they have plenty of great songs, but still insist on putting in one or two cover in as 'crowd pleasers', what a waste of a song in a set that could be used to turn people onto your music instead. If you're a covers band looking for work, fine, I get it. If you're an originals band, I simply don't understand it. Si
19.
The concept for the Bass Fly Rig was a small portable solution for "fly dates" or for players that get stuck using back line gear that does not deliver the sound they require. It was not meant to be a be all and end all replacement for your dream rig. It can be used in conjunction with your main rig to easily add some extra utility. The main focus was the analog engine. The Octafilter section was more of a bonus effect to utilize some of the leftover DSP power from the chorus section. To add switches for the Octafilter section would increase the size of the unit, the cost and would also necessitate extra controls for each section and there is not enough DSP power to do that. The Boost section has been requested by a number of bass players and it also gives more flexibility for those that wish to run a cleaner overall sound and add distortion to that sound or use the boost for extra output to either punctuate a passage or give extra level for a solo section.
Absolutely, I work in a similar industry (in fact our office deals with the calls for your UK distributor) so fully understand that you can't make the perfect product for all users. As it stands, it looks like a great piece of gear, but personally I would find individual Fuzz, Octave & Envelope on separate switches way more useful than clean boost & Chorus. My idea would be to have an Envelope switch, a Fuzz switch & and octave switch separated out, no boost, and the chorus effect sitting on a control/knob on the octave switch. Whether there's a DSP restriction here, I don't know, possible, but the size of the unit would be the same, same amount of switches etc. Anyway, just thinking out loud . Always loved Tech 21 stuff, this looks great, just would personally prefer a little different layout as I could then swap out my 5 pedal setup for this Cheers, great to see you on here too btw, more companies should get involved. DIY Effects

My Antique enclosure is all etched and painted, very happy with it. SMDs are done, populated all the resistors in the board ready for soldering, just need to find some time (when baby is not around....fumes) to solder it all. Si
21. Yeah, think it's rounds on his Jazz, flats on his MM. What isn't mentioned is how old and dead his rounds are lol, but yeah, great tone all the time from Mr Dart Si
22. Always loved the idea of an aluminium basses, and have to say that from the sound clips, this sounds great! Si
23. I thought this had a clean blend too?! Or is that someone else's Heliotropic?! Si
24. Shame they didn't see fit to seperate out the octave, fuzz & envelope onto seperate footswitches, way more useful than a boost (lazy inclusion from someone with a guitar mindset) & chorus. Still a nice piece of gear, but couldn't replace a good setup of individuals for me at the mo, shame. My guitarist friend has the Richie Kotzen one and loves it! Si
