1.
Yeah that was the original plan but the Fueltank came up 2nd hand for £60 with the Pedaltrain and the compressor I was eyeing up before the Keeley needed 18v.
Ah ok gotcha. Wow that's a hungry compressor! Si
2. So I shifted around my main board to make things a little easier to get to, not pretty, but very versatile! Signal chain is Bass -> DIY looper painted by Laura Bennett -> Line6 M5 -> OC-2 -> MXR Bass Envelope Filter -> COG Mini 66 in a larger enclosure painted by Claire Cousins -> back to looper -> amp. Powered by Diago with a Gigrig Timelord isolating the M5 Si
3.
Finally acquired all the parts to my simple board. Boss OC2 Keely Bassist Compressor TU2 Pedaltrain Nano+ All powered by a Fueltank Jr. My gigs don't really call for much more than some synthy OC2 stuff. Otherwise, just the compressor which I only got today, which will be an always on job. Very impressed with it so far, incredibly easy to dial in. Just got to get some velcro and mount the Fueltank underneath and then patch it all in. I've played the last two years with only a clip on tuner, but I'm really looking forward to having a simple but effective board again 😁
Nice! But you don't even really need the fuel tank! Put the three pedals on a Nano, and just daisy chain the power to the other two from the TU-2. Si
4.
Imagine having the kind of money to be able to walk in and just say 'I want a replica'. That is when things are great in life!
I imagine that owning that bass, the owner probably has quite a close relationship with Fender. A master built is probably 4-5k?, I imagine he might get a slight concession simply because they get to work on such a piece of history, gets their customers excited etc. Basically just Fodera money + the history involved. But who knows Si
5. If Jason spent the day with it with the owner, guessing that means one of two things: 1) A CS limited run of '59 Protos 2) The owner wants a replica to gig. Very cool though! Si
6. I don't own any Ashdown anymore, but their service record (and service I've experienced with my previous ABM) is a big reason I'd buy again! Si
7. Ah ok yeah, the Rise mode by the sounds of it. Not as gated at the end of the phrase as the VST.....but I don't expect it to be exact. Cheers all Si
8. I'm after a particular Phaser sound and wondered if anyone had happened across it. Essentially I would like the phaser to run low to high as it normally does, but then reset back to low to high as opposed to descending again, the exact sound can be heard on our track at 2:19 (although feel free to listen to all of it) : https://corybantic.bandcamp.com/track/landlubber That's obviously a particular plugin we used, and I have a simply Ibanez Phaser for live, but would like to try and get closer to it. Perhaps knows of a particular TC Toneprint which could do it? Si
9. SOLD Vintage Boss GE-7B (Japanese Black Label) - £40 - 6/10 condition (but in context, great for 80s Boss) & boxed. One slider cap missing. SOLD Cheers Si
10. Hi all, I have two LM2s and looking to move one on. These are obviously discontinued now and have the analogue power section that a lot of people prefer to the newer digital power of the LM3. Mine is 7/10 condition, but really it is only a few minor surface scratches on the top of the unit. I don't have the box/bag, but will be sufficiently packaged (see my feedback) and can throw in a mains cable if needed. P&P is £5 for UPS in the UK Collection possible from High Wycombe/Welwyn Garden City Photos to follow tonight when I get home. SOLD Cheers Si

12.
Cant speak for the 1126s, but i play in a 6 piece function band and i use a single TKS S112, without PA support for the majority of the time. I do have a second cabinet, but more often than not i don't feel i need it. I would guess 2 X 1126s is more than enough for most gigs until we start talking stadiums and the like
Wow, quietest 6 piece ever? Si
13.
https://instagram.com/p/BH0OkmDgsl9/ Ooh. Shell pink MM.
Niiiiccceeeee (shame about the maple board, rosewood all the way but....) niiiiice Si
14. Nice, I was hoping the Brian Cook enclosure wouldn't sell at the latest Special Effects, but it did lol Si
15. How do you find the 1126s now you've lived/gigged with them a little? I'm considering them Do you use them without PA support at all? Si
16. My son was born in 2016........does that count? Just kidding, I don't want a Flea bass.....looks lovely though! The spec could only be improved by binding (keep the dots), and lollipop tuners. Si
17.
Bc it can never be replaced...
So just be careful with it?! A bass is a bass, no matter what paint job it is, play it into the ground for many years Si
18.
I would be wary about playing a '61 stack knob, one of only 3 in that colour ever made, and taking it out on the road.
Why? Si
19. Lasse purchased my Marcus Miller 5 string a couple of months ago, lovely guy, very easy to deal with. Deal with confidence Si
20. I don't really know anything about ESP basses (so it could be that), but without checking, the headstock looks a little like a Tune headstock? Si
21. Everyone is going to have a different experience. I've owned 5s that have had bridge spacing ranging from 16mm to 19mm. Because swap between 4s (all 19mm) and my 5, but find 19mm a little much on 5s, I seem to have settled on 18mm. Seems the most comfortable when swapping between 4 & 5 for me Si
22. Hi Funkle, It's unlikely that you're seeing any latency benefits from connecting your Saffire to a Thunderbolt card via an adapter, as it will simply be creating a Firewire bus for the Saffire to work over. Remember that the Saffire is still only using the Firewire 400 protocol, you would need a Thunderbolt interface to see the true latency benefits of your Thunderbolt card. That said, if you're experiencing 1.6m/s roundtrip with this setup, that's pretty bloody spectacular Yes, we saw quite a few problems with people who updated to Windows 10 and found that their older Firewire 400 chipsets causing connectivity problems with a number of brands Firewire interfaces. This seems to have been resolved somewhat by people upgrading their Firewire cards to later Firewire 800 chipsets (we specifically recommend the TI XIO2213B chipset). Si Focusrite Technical Support
23. I should say that although USB2 is fine for most people (this does depend on computer spec and session size, don't expect much from your £250 Lenovo), you will be able to achieve lower latency via Thunderbolt. This is helpful because you can then raise your buffer size, achieving a similar round trip, but not putting as much strain on the CPU, meaning less glitchy audio. Si Focusrite Technical Support
24. Thunderbolt has plenty of life left in it, Thunderbolt 3 will eventually be widely adopted over USB-C, and will be backwards compatible (as Thunderbolt 1 is with 2). So the worst case scenario in the medium term is needing a connection hub with Thunderbolt connections for computers which only have USB-C ports (*cough Apple *cough*). People get hung up on 'speed' and bandwidth, these things are important, but usually not too important for the kinds of recording projects we might undertake, we're mostly bothered about achievable latency and, really, USB 2.0 is more than capable for the relatively small projects (lets say 16 analogue channels simultaneously) we might undertake. If you are someone who presides over orchestra recording (a LOT of channels) or track with a lot of plugins/processing happening, you're the exception . Si Focusrite Technical Support
