1. Lasse purchased my Marcus Miller 5 string a couple of months ago, lovely guy, very easy to deal with. Deal with confidence Si
2. I don't really know anything about ESP basses (so it could be that), but without checking, the headstock looks a little like a Tune headstock? Si
3. Everyone is going to have a different experience. I've owned 5s that have had bridge spacing ranging from 16mm to 19mm. Because swap between 4s (all 19mm) and my 5, but find 19mm a little much on 5s, I seem to have settled on 18mm. Seems the most comfortable when swapping between 4 & 5 for me Si
4. Hi Funkle, It's unlikely that you're seeing any latency benefits from connecting your Saffire to a Thunderbolt card via an adapter, as it will simply be creating a Firewire bus for the Saffire to work over. Remember that the Saffire is still only using the Firewire 400 protocol, you would need a Thunderbolt interface to see the true latency benefits of your Thunderbolt card. That said, if you're experiencing 1.6m/s roundtrip with this setup, that's pretty bloody spectacular Yes, we saw quite a few problems with people who updated to Windows 10 and found that their older Firewire 400 chipsets causing connectivity problems with a number of brands Firewire interfaces. This seems to have been resolved somewhat by people upgrading their Firewire cards to later Firewire 800 chipsets (we specifically recommend the TI XIO2213B chipset). Si Focusrite Technical Support
5. Haha, I do love the BDPG Si
6. I should say that although USB2 is fine for most people (this does depend on computer spec and session size, don't expect much from your £250 Lenovo), you will be able to achieve lower latency via Thunderbolt. This is helpful because you can then raise your buffer size, achieving a similar round trip, but not putting as much strain on the CPU, meaning less glitchy audio. Si Focusrite Technical Support
7. Thunderbolt has plenty of life left in it, Thunderbolt 3 will eventually be widely adopted over USB-C, and will be backwards compatible (as Thunderbolt 1 is with 2). So the worst case scenario in the medium term is needing a connection hub with Thunderbolt connections for computers which only have USB-C ports (*cough Apple *cough*). People get hung up on 'speed' and bandwidth, these things are important, but usually not too important for the kinds of recording projects we might undertake, we're mostly bothered about achievable latency and, really, USB 2.0 is more than capable for the relatively small projects (lets say 16 analogue channels simultaneously) we might undertake. If you are someone who presides over orchestra recording (a LOT of channels) or track with a lot of plugins/processing happening, you're the exception . Si Focusrite Technical Support
8. Yay for more Fuzzrocious Si
9. I see, so it effectively turns it into a sealed cab when vertical......almost?! Si
10. But the port is on the bottom of the cab?.....what happened to needing around 6" clearance for ports?! Si
11. I have one of these for home practice and have used it for small rehearsals with a soul band. Really love it, sounds good, and wonderfully transportable. Si
12. Absolutely stunning! Si

Boss CE-2W
I have the SD-1W, BD-2W, DM-2W and VB-2W. I went a bit Boss mad recently. I've not tried ONE with bass yet!
I often use an original DM-3 & VB-2 with bass and they sound fantastic . Got the Wazacraft TU-3 on the way too which is exciting. Si
14. Looks awesome Gary, glad to see you've decided to keep it for a bit! I actually didn't play this on purpose at the herts bash, not only would my '71 get jealous, but I was worried I'd be thinking about trying to buy it if I liked it haha. Out of interest, what colour/finish would you go for if/when you 'restore' it? I've seen some excellent work from Joseph Kaye in London, he refinished my friends '57 Strat, period correct paint and nitro (shipped by boat from america), and the relic job is top top draw. Si
15. Perfect, thanks all Si
16. So.....I should know this, but I'm unsure. Is there a difference between running two outputs to two speakers from your head, vs running one output from the head, then another from cab to cab? Currently I use the latter (daisy chaining cabs from amp output), but I'm considering some new cabs that would mean outputting two cables from the amp, one to each cab. Thanks Si
17. Depends what your budget is, but Xotic do really great 'super' Jazz basses, and they do a 24 fret version too. Certainly also checkout Maruszczyk, I would have bought an Elwood 5 if my Xotic XJ-1T 5 hadn't blown me away Si
18. Haven't done this mod, but the sound files on their website sound like a vast improvement! Si
19. Photos from my dad will hopefully be forthcoming this Sunday. Although my the time I get to upload them, probably be that I send them around on Monday Si
20. I think it actually looks really cool, I reckon it's just a CS build and won't come out as a signature, but if it did I reckon it would sell a lot. JazzRay in silver sparkle? Great stuff Si
21. Thanks, yeah TKS are on the radar, and I'll try them out at Bass Gear, but keen to try the Aguilars on a gig Si
22. Basically I'm considering a move to these cabs, but would really prefer to try and borrow a couple and getting them onto a function gig or two. Long shot, but let me know Si
23. Poop, shame you're not closer (i.e. I need to try some first haha). Si
24. Looks like a Maruszczyk Si
