1. Hi all, < Focusrite representative hat on > Has anyone here purchased a Scarlett Studio or iTrack Studio package? (with the Interface, Mic & Headphones) If so, have you had any issues with the Mic clip breaking? More specifically the tightening screw shearing off? If so, please contact me asap as I would like to get hold of your broken clip assuming you have all the parts available. If you have not received one already, you would obviously receive a new clip. This is a long-shot I know, but would help. Many thanks Simon // Focusrite Technical Support
2.
If only they were on Spotify
Just buy the albums Si
3.
Thanks for the link to the interview. He's an amazing player, and it's quite scary when you see him, no denying who's son he is. I was a little disappointed with the Yelllow jackets album though.
I know what you mean about the YellowJackets album, but I think that's just the vibe of the group. I came to that album after listening to Felix in the Social Experiment and the Mu'Tet, which are both a lot more progressive and to my tastes. Thanks for reading guys Si
4. Hi all, Really happy to present an interview with Felix Pastorius on my blog: http://simonpoulton.tumblr.com/post/131437468373/interview-with-felix-pastorius You can also read my past interviews with bassists such as Liam Wilson (Dillinger Escape Plan), Brian Cook (Russian Circles, Botch), Nick Sollecito (The Dear Hunter), Gabe Nelson (Cake), Adam Burton (Arcane Roots), Jim Creeggan (Barenaked Ladies), Owen Biddle (Mister Barrington), in the archive here: http://simonpoulton.tumblr.com/archive Cheers Si
5. I did a Knightfall 66 demo ages ago if that sways anyone http://youtu.be/Mv0oqDxP6_I Si
6. I think that all things being equal, the body shape has zero effect on tone :-P Si
7. My mrs and I were in NYC this April just gone and we fell in love with Brooklyn! Welcome to Basschat! Si
8. I wouldn't worry about it Bilbo, just wait until David discovers Fodera lol Si
9. I would put the ACG posted above in exactly the same category as the Wal posted above, hand-built, boutique basses. The spec is different because different people ordered them. I wouldn't touch either of them but I wouldn't start a thread centered around the fact that not many people complain about the brands. Go practice the bass people lol Si
10. Yup, just spec exactly the measurements you want. Perhaps an Elwood (Jazz) dimension neck on a Jake body would be better for you, perhaps a 33" or 32"scale length, no extra charge for each of those spec changes Si
11. Most dub players won't use an octave, and just boost the lows and cut the highs. The old DOD Bi-Fet Pre pedal does a good dub sound! But yes, if you want a more processed subby sound, get a Boss OC-2, crank the -1 control and turn off the direct signal control Si
12. I'll certainly be there, one or possibly two days, repping BC and catching up with a lot of lovely people! Si
13.
Don't see these coming up often, especially the US model. Lovely! Good luck
I don't think there is a Skyline Decade short scale, only the 34" Si
14. Bump. Try me with trades, interested in bass envelope filters perhaps Si
15. My soon-to-be Maruszczyk (being built) will probably come in around 7.5lbs, maybe slightly less. My Fodera is about 10.5lbs I think. Thought you'd all be interested in that Si
16. DiMarzio Model P should always be a contender, solid tone! I've also been very impressed with sound clips of Haussel pickups, looking forward to hearing them properly in an upcoming Maruszczyk build Si
17. Hi all, It's been a while, but am very excited to present an interview with the bassist from one of my favourite bands, The Dear Hunter. It's currently 1:20am, and seeing as I lost my entire edit of the interview once this evening, after the re-do, i'm afraid the BC forum text formatting is killing me. So please take a look at the full interview on my blog below. If you haven't heard of The Dear Hunter, you'll definitely like them.....seriously....there's videos and songs embedded in the interview any everything: http://simonpoulton....the-dear-hunter You can also read my past interviews with bassists such as Liam Wilson (Dillinger Escape Plan), Brian Cook (Russian Circles, Botch), Gabe Nelson (Cake), Adam Burton (Arcane Roots), Jim Creeggan (Barenaked Ladies), Owen Biddle (Mister Barrington), in the archive here: http://simonpoulton.tumblr.com/archive Cheers Si
18. Just on some quick searches (am at work), I can only see the usual places stock the Duo version. Si
19. Yes, is that picture actually of yours? Because that's a first series Japanese version (Octaver). If it's a silver label, it's a Taiwanese model without the 'r' (Octave). I'd change the photo so people aren't confused Si
20. Are you any good with a soldering iron and small components/PCBs? If so, check out the Fuzz Dog catalogue of DIY pedal kits, you can build an OCD pedal for about £25 or so. You could also purchase a Boss ODB-3 and mod it with the Monte Allums kit, that would probably set you back about £60 with a second hand ODB-3 The Joyo stuff is ok......meh Si
21. Two from a band called The Dear Hunter: Waves "I thought that I knew love, but it was just a wave crashing over us" The Love "I was 22 when I first died" Si
