After I finish the below listed Corybantic gig....I'll be zooming over to Brixton Jamm to play with JoCee at midnight, supporting Craig Charles and his funk DJ'ing thing: http://www.brixtonjamm.org/event.php?event_id=795 Si

So after booking what we though was our first show on 11th September, we've been asked to play a last minute show supporting COPPER & BIGGS. The Mathy Rock / Avant Garde Jazz instrumental goodness starts at 7pm, 93 Feet East: http://www.93feeteas...date=2015-08-07 Si

I think they look fantastic, although they're having a laugh with the price. Si
Cool BTW how does the Eterna stack up against the ED Organizer as I've heard both but I'm unsure if they do the same sort of thing?
They don't do the same thing, although the shimmer reverb essentially sounds like the tails are pitched up. The Eterna is reverb and the Organizer is a -/+ pitch pedal with changeable lag (so the processed sound can trail your initial note a bit). They are actually my favourite combo of pedals ever, they sound so good together for sound-scapy goodness. Si

Original Bands wanted to audition for new TV Series
So you're being asked to agree to contracts whose terms you haven't seen... surely that would never stand up in court?
Quite common with some recording deals, often referred to as deal memos. They'll outline the very basics, and essentially state 'we the undersigned agree to sign the contract in full'.......which of course could then include some not very nice clauses. Si -
Awesome, Si Saw the Gold reviewed on YT by Rob Chapman for Andertons and was blown away by the control-ability of the reverb section and the Octave-up 'shimmer'. Just hope my bank balance can cope with another pedal purchase at the end of the month! I've already spent a bit on pedals in the last few weeks (TC Flashback Delay, Micro POG and a Voodoo Labs pedal power pack, plus Pedal Train goodies) Anyhoo, hope to catch up at the SE Bash next month if you're going
I should be there yes, look forward to catching up Si
^^^ Like a lot. How are you finding the Eterna reverb? I'm GAS'ing for the Eterna Gold, but I've only found one UK stockist (Andertons).
Absolutely love the Eterna, I won it in the Circuits To Cure Cancer auctions a couple of years ago and haven't looked back. Not tried the Gold, but understand that it's just even more extreme . Si

It has been pointed out to me that you can (quite obviously) mute the Markbass 801s speaker when just wanting to use the headphone out. This means that I officially have no issues with the 801, it's bloody brilliant Si

None of your pedals are particularly thirsty, nor hardcore digital pedals, so I don't think isolated outputs would be overly necessary. I'm a big advocate of the Gigrig system, great products and solid powering solutions. Si

If you're ok with a soldering iron, get a Wooly Mammoth or Muff kit from FuzzDog, probably £30-£35 tops Si

So this is the board for my new project Corybantic. Being a three-piece instrumental band, I get a fair amount of sonic freedom.....within reason. The DL-4 is just used for looping & the Dark Driving is always on: Si

The Flashback is my fave Warwick design, I've often considered one (if I could find one), but never quite pulled the trigger I think they're cooler than the current CV range. Si

What pedals do you use? Si

Yeah, have had bands which uploaded stuff and got played. Even got asked to do a live session on 3 Counties as a result of that I think. Most recently played on BBC Introducing Guernsey with the new project as the guitarist (based in London) is from Guernsey. Si

Just go and try a Fodera at Bass Gear?!?!? Si

I consistently move between a 19mm 4 string Precision and a 17.5mm 5 string Fodera, and that seems like an easy move to me. I don't think I'd make too much fuss over string spacing, I accept an old Precision as 19mm, and my 5 as 17.5mm, that makes them the instrument that they are, why I play them I've also had 19mm 5 strings and have an 18mm 5 string too, everything has been comfortable after a little while. My only excretion to that was an ACG 5 I had, set to 16mm and that was toooo thin for me, was adjustable probably to 17mm or so, but sold before I changed it. The Scott Devine Overwater Jazz 4 string is 16.5mm and that just looks weird, bet it's fast though! So, I wouldn't get caught up in string spacing (no pun intended), try a bunch of basses, buy the one that is most comfortable. Si

I know Andy and a lovelier man there is not . Colin's bass work is fantastic, but I believe XTC were one of those bands where it's not necessarily that player on that instrument . Follow Andy on Twitter, he often does 'Corrector' tweets which basically run through popular misconceptions about the band Si

No worries, one will pop up Si
I've somehow ended up with two ODB-3's. So I modded one with a load of mods from Brian Wamplers pdf's - Sounds quite good now (much less fizzy) and has even made onto my board a few times recently.
Let me know if you want to get rid of the unmodded one bud, I fancy trying the MA mods Si
The only snobbery I've noticed is with the ODB-3, but whatever, I've seen John Stockman use his live with Karnivool
I'm not sure this is snobbery to be fair, that would be to say that people don't like the ODB-3 because its Boss......... .....I don't like it because it sounds awful in my setup lol. But I would be interested in re-trying it with the Monte Allums mod. Si

Basically, most 'well known' luthiers will make you a world class bass. There's an abundance in the UK: Sei, Wal, Shuker, ACG, GB, Status. That's before you look further afield, the amount of luthiers worldwide making stunning basses for cheaper than you can buy a Fender or Warwick custom shop is staggering. The trick is knowing exactly the spec you want, perhaps it's a spec that you've lived with in another bass for a while, but want to up the quality. With custom basses it's often difficult to 'try before you buy', but you can usually get fairly close. It's also about finding a builder who gets your vision and is excited about your build. Si

I've answered this when you asked the same question in your 'High End Bass' post. In the interest of keeping things tidy. Will close this (if not for the fact that the answer is 99% 'No' lol) Si

Hi all, Been a while since I played a 'rock' show since First Signs Of Frost packed up, so glad to start gigging with my new project Corybantic. Math Rock / Gypsy Jazz crossover, effectively there's a lot of odd meter riffs and expensive chords . Some rough demos here (not me playing on those yet): http://corybantic.ba...mp.com/releases Cheers Si
