1. Thanks Graham, some interest, but still technically available Si
2. I asked Adrian quite a while ago about 33" and he simply said it was absolutely fine to do and no extra cost, very cool . This was essentially the detail that caused me to order, a 33", custom colour, versatile P-bass for under a grand, perfect I don't mind the wording on the logo, but wanted to keep it the headstock minimalist. This also means that once my two bitsa basses sell, I'll be down to my Fodera, my '71 Precision, my medium scale Fender Jazz and the Maruszczyk when it arrives, a solid little armoury! Si
3. Perhaps won't be much of a diary as I'm not aware that Adrian supplies anything with regards to updates/pictures etc, would perhaps be a bit much to ask for what is only a 10 week build . But hey, I'm excited, so here's the spec: Body: -Alder (chambered) -Shoreline Gold -Black 3-ply scratchplate -Chrome hardware -Passive, Vol/Vol/Tone -P & JJ Haussel pickups -JJ volume on push/pull pot. In 'down'/normal position in Series Humbucking setting, in 'up' position JJ in single coil mode Neck: -33" scale -Standard Jake dimensions -Rock maple neck -Rosewood fingerboard (as dark as possible specified) -Pearl dot inlays -Matching Shoreline Gold headstock -Only 'M' logo (no lettering) -Hipshot Ultralite 1/2" tuners Apparently, because of the chambering, the bass should weigh in around the 7.5lb mark, very similar to WoTs. Cannot wait, Adrian has been amazing to deal with, very helpful and patient, with very fast replies, often on a weekend. Cheers Si
4. Really surprised this is still here, old Reverends don't come up very often at all! Lovely looking bass! GLWTS Si
5. From what I understand, Rosewood and Ebony are opposite ends of the Bright & Dense spectrum, with Pau Ferro sitting somewhere in the middle. If I can specify a dark Rosewood, that would be great, waiting for Adrian. He's a saint if he has to deal with even half the emails I've sent with each customer!! Si
6. Yeah, I've asked Adrian about darkness of Rosewood. Will report back Si
7. I don't think I'd consider the JPJ configuration, I much prefer a P in the neck position than a J. The JJ in the bridge should prove to be versatile though. I'm now going back over the fingerboard wood choice.......the trouble is it's difficult to decide based on photos. WoTs fingerboard looks nice, fairly dark rosewood, but some on the website look pretty washed out, again may be bad lighting. Adrian forwarded me a photo of a bass with an ebony board, but it looks more slate grey than black with subtle ebony grain (see attachment), possibly just the lighting though? Si
8. Still fully available. PRICE DROP Si
9.
Si, sorry for the dumb question but is there a downside to the JJ as a humbucker over the J single coil? Graham
Not a dumb question at all, on the face of It there's no downside really, especially as it's switchable between the two. In my head it was an aesthetic thing, it's a much chunkier pickup, and a cost thing. As it happens, I'm not bothered about the aesthetic, and it's no extra cost to have JJ instead of J. So wth that said, I have a finished spec Si
10.
Definitely Ebony for me
Think I'm with you on that. Decisions made, just need to decide about JJ Vs J Si
11.
FWIW, when I was sorting my order with Adrian, he sent me a few examples of 3TSBs they'd done previously. I was able to point out one that nailed the 70s 3TSB I prefer. I'm guessing the option would be there to be pretty specific about the exact shade of Shoreline, too..? Sounds like it's going to be a beaut. I'm actually thinking about going for another in the future. Maybe shoreline, charcoal or LPB... yum.
He has sent me some photo examples of Creme & Vintage White scratchplate, but again, I can't quite imagine them on the Gold colour they do. When I mentioned Shoreline, he sent me a photo of a gold bass and said "this is our Shoreline", I don't think I want to bother him (or myself) with talking about a change in shade here or a shade there, it seems a moot point when taking it that far. I think I'll stick with the black scratchplate on gold (bucking the trend of their pearl white on gold), just need to decide on Pau Ferro or Ebony, J vs JJ and then I'm done Si
12. And before anyone assumes these are just good for metal (watch the whole thing, the bassist has a surprise) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JawQn7gKdJo Si
13. So i'll be going for a Jake. If you look at the old Fender Shoreline Gold colour, it tends to be a more greeny gold (possibly because of the aged lacquer), whereas the Maru Shoreline Gold is more orange. With this in mind, when I do the squinty eye/tilt head test, I can't really imagine a mint green/parchment/vintage white scratch plate going with the Maru gold. As such, like Eude, I am leaning towards a black scrratchplate. With that in mind, I was also leaning towards a Pau Ferro fingerboard, but I wondered whether Ebony would be a nicer match to the rest of the ensemble?! I'm also now thinking about the JJ humbucker arrangement for the bridge pickup over the single J....hmmmmmmmm Si
14. Think I might pay the deposit on mine this week, struggling on fingerboard/scratchplate combinations on a gold body though :-/ Si
15. Rainy weekend bump Si
16. Probably the best looking Lakland I've ever seen! GLWTS Si
17. 17.5mm is such a nice spacing on a 5er! That's what mine is and 19mm 5ers just seem clumsy now! GLWTS Si

20.
so does being on this list guarantee our spot? Quite excited about this.
Would be worth trying to confirm this one way or another. No point in someone coming from Bristol if the spaces are first come first serve Si
21. Argh, I'm jealous, I'm mostly spec'd up but am making myself wait to pay the deposit until I sell my 2 basses :-(. Did you get pics of yours up Naetharu? Cheers Si
22.
Interesting.. What is the nut width on the neck? Is it the modern 41.3mm? Do you know what year it is?
Will PM you so we're not over-bumping the thread . Will add any relevant details to the OP too. Si
23. Bump. Consider the price as 'Or Very Near Offer' I would consider parting out the bass, but only if I can get a confirmed buyer for both body and neck first. Cheers Si
