74 is very late for the thumb rest to be on the treble side I think, although always possible with Fender as mentioned earlier. You could ask for photos of the body without the scratch plate on, if there are screw holes on the bass side, then someone has added the treble side thumb rest and the scratch plate might be unoriginal. That said, entirely possible that if this mod was done during the refin, that it was filled in etc, so won't be visible/obvious. Or it might be original and just a late example of treble side........welcome to vintage Fenders Si

Hi Ambient, <tech support hat on> Are you using the original USB cable supplied with the Forte? If the Forte is not showing up in preferences, then the computer is not seeing the unit at all. Absolutely no reason why not. You'll likely need to fit a new nut, otherwise the strings will not sit nicely in the larger slots. I've found I'm not keen on C strings on larger frets though Si

If that's an original Sherwood Green finish then that is rare as a rare thing. Although I thought that Sherwood Green tended to age to more of a blue colour, could be wrong though! Si
