Does anyone know if Mark just sells bass bodies? Or just whole basses? Have emailed him but apparently he's away until Saturday.....and I'm impatient . If not I'll take a look at Warmoth Chars Si

It certainly will be interesting to see what turns up. For £250 including postage, it's difficult to see how the wood or parts are going to be anything other than average quality. I assume they're CNC machined, again, difficult to believe anything hand built could be had that cheap, wherever it is in the world. That said, those Sires seem to be getting very good reviews, and they are probably built in the same way. Of course, all that matters is that you like it, and it plays well for you! Si

Did this position get filled? Cheers Si

Nano POG vs Behringer Ultra Harmonist... Behringer wins!?
Sibob replied to 1976fenderhead's topic in Effects
Yeah was always impressed with the Micro-Pog, that said, I haven't heard the Nano, like you said....new algorithm might have messed things up? Interesting. I had the Boss PS-6 (Harmonist), wasn't that impressed with it I have to say....maybe you'll like it Si -
Hmmm, I guess the body shape is reminiscent of the Imperial shape, but that's about it. Headstock is totally different, pickups are in an interesting position (not seen a Fodera with that layout before....I assume because no-ones asked for it), control layout is different. Hopefully it's a nice bass for you though Also, doesn't the new logo look like the Mayones logo? Si

Hi all, Selling/retiring my first Compact. I'll say this first, this has seen a lot of use, it has marks, nicks and missing feet, but it's reflected in the price, still structurally solid as ever and sounds fantastic obviously. So, points of note: The handle (can of worms?!) is having the problems often written about. Still works perfectly fine, but you may wish to purchase Barefaced conversion kit to the new handle. All 4 of the bottom feet have been lost in vans or at gigs. I have 3 spare that I will supply, you could take the 4th from the side of the cab, or Barefaced list the suppler on their site. General marks - this has been heavily gigged, loaded in and out of vans etc, so whilst it comes with a cover, it still has marks, scratches etched pitted over it. Pics: The bottom of the cab: The Roqsolid cover has a board pocket, meaning you can fit a protective board into it for the grill. I have fitted a cut-to-size piece of light-weight chipboard which will be included. The gaffa denotes the front of the cab: Essentially this needs a little attention to get back to it's visual best, however still works great and sounds great! I haven't fitted my spare feet etc as my gigs haven't changed. This cab needs to retire to someone who carries their gear to their gigs haha. SOLD Cheers Si

Yeah, if you use the LED pad on the board, then the resistor needs to be in the CLR space, otherwise that omission means the led is getting no power (due to the path being broken). You could bridge the CLR with a piece of wire and that's be fine to leave the resistor where it is. Neater to put it on the board though. You can not use the CLR & LED pad at all, but means you have to connect the long leg of the resistor to your power source another way (with resistor in line obviously), usually straight from the power socket. Short leg obviously always goes to the switch. Si

I don't thing anyone is questioning how it sounds, I agree that it actually sounds pretty decent, from that video and their official one, but I think the shape and size of it misses the mark. With regards to the pickups, anchoring your thumb on them to play the E string would suck. Si

Yeah those pickups are huuuge!! I think Ibanez missed the mark on this one a bit, nice idea, but the SR would have been a better bassis for this model. Si
There is a scottish custom pedal group who make a stonking OC-2 clone, but for the life of me can't remember what they or it is called... Will post back if I ever remember! EDIT: GojiraFX, that's them!
Not tried the Gojira, seems alright, probably based on the Pearl OC-02 (low and high octave), so not quite an OC-2 clone. I considered one just for the up octave, but think I'll wait for the POG Nano. OC-2 destroys the POG on low end Si

Thanks Seashell, appreciate your input Si

My fave reverb to date is the Mr Black Eterna, however thats a Shimmer reverb, at extreme settings it sounds like a choir, beautiful pedal. That is, understandably, possibly a bit more specialised than you're after, so I would definitely recommend the TC stuff (either the HoF or HoF Mini), they also have their new Trinity 2 out, which has a ton of reverbs on it. Must give a shout out also to the Marshall Reflector, discontinued now, but probably still the cheapest of the above, sounds great and has a few different reverbs on it. Si

Yes I've done that excercise with Anthony at Wooten Woods. I was fine at it, slightly surprised myself, but then I was on a 20 fret Fender. Now I'm using a 26 fret 5 string (high C)......it's harder lol....but getting there Si

My '71 P-Bass has a Rosewood fingerboard My P/J has a Pau Ferro fingerboard My MGS has a Kingwood fingerboard .......they all basically look like Rosewood Si

So we'd like to try and get more along to the Herts Bass Bash (thread in the events forum). What kind of events/discussions/demonstrations etc are people interested in seeing at this (or any) bass bash? What floats your boat at bass events? Secondly, for my information, if you are attending, or thinking about it, this year, what (if any) pedals and effects specific gear/talks/demonstrations are you interested in hearing/playing with. Bashs are out on by members for members, so it's important to get a dialogue going to see what people are interesting in seeing Many thanks Si

Listen to D'Angelos 'Voodoo' album! That entire album is behind the beat!! Pino is sometimes half a bar behind the kick and it's amazing!! Si

I'd probably go with a Mac (MacBook or Mac Pro), using Reaper, Logic or Pro Tools (Reaper if you're on a Budget......i.e. free). I would personally stay clear of PCs (nightmare for Firewire/Thunderbolt cards), especially if you're looking to use Pro Tools (nightmare), and if I had to use PC, I'd stick with Cubase. Si
