Yes, the point stands though. Everyone in music uses their image to enhance their performance, Slipknot/Ramones/Madonna/Taylor Swift, everyone does it - I'm sure @Blue could tell you all about it. Yes, she's wearing jeans & a t-shirt; do you think she just happened to pick those clothes up that day then decided later to record a video? Then look at the make-up, the hair, the way she's moving, the way she looks at the camera, the camera angle etc etc... - there's nothing wrong with it & I'm not having a go, she's a music performance artist & is putting on a good show.
I'd put money on it that she thought about it, from a 'sex sells' point of view, about as much as Huw Foster did for his video. Her clothes? Yes I imagine she did just pick up some jeans and a tshirt and put them on to record a bass video. I imagine that she did her hair and makeup like any number of females do in the morning.....whether they're a musician has nothing to do with it. The way she moves? She's playing the bass to some groovy music, how would you expect her to move? The way she looks at the camera?!?! "Hey dude, did you see how that girl looked at me?" "Think she was just looking around the room man" "No way, she looked at me with a look in her eye" "Pretty sure she was just using her eyes to look at a number of people around the room in a non-descript way" "Whatever, I'm going to talk to her, think she likes me" Check out her cover of Dry Cleaner From Des Moines, next someone will be telling me that she's using her image to sell her playing because she's got her hair down! lol Maybe I'm just very naive This, of course, is all separate to 'Why post up videos of you playing'......which I don't really care about. Si
Is she using her apparent good looks to boost popularity? Yes.
Ummmm, she's just playing her bass in jeans and tshirt?! Si

I think the crux of the issue is the title of the thread, I wonder if it would have taken this tack if called 'Check this bassist out' She's a great player, and Stingrays always seem to nail the 'Do I Do' tone! Good luck to her! Also someone previously mentioned that it's easier to play it in Eb like how Nate played it. Probably worth noting that Nate didn't retune for this (on any) Stevie song, he was playing a semi-tone down long before he got the Stevie gig.......I guess that's why they fit each other so well . So safe to assume his 5 strings are down to Bb too. Si

I had a Streamliner 900 for a few weeks, hated it. Could not get a useable tone from it at all. Sold it and went back to my Markbass LMII, much more useable and sounded louder to my ears. This was through Barefaced cabs. Really like Markbass heads, the LM2 & 3 are great, although the Bass Show at the weekend has me secretly eying up the Aguilar Tonehammer 500 Si

I really like the ME-50b, I've had one for years and years, the sounds are largely excellent and is laid out in a more analogue way as opposed to screens and menus etc. That said, it becomes a bit of a faff when you want to use two effects that appear on the same 'pedal'. Obviously each pedal has a number of effects that you select between, but you cannot assign an effect to a different pedal. As such, it's not possible to easily switch between an Octave & an Envelope filter sound without saving a custom setup, but even that can become confusing. If you just want Octave, Drive, Chorus, it's perfect as they are all on separate pedals. The resonance effect that's assignable to the expression pedal is excellent, love that thing! I've looked and shifting it for the Line6 M9, but again, whilst the M9 is a LOT more versatile, there are a lot of it's effects which are stuck in guitar territory, so no blends etc. Surely just a firmware update, but I don't think Line6 have made any significant updates in a long time. I"ve not tried a B3, but a lot of people rave about them, laid out much more like a digital pedal as opposed to an analogue, but almost certainly more versatile with regards to assigning effects to pedals etc. GT10b is probably the daddy of the lot, but as I said, potentially too much for the what you want. I went on the Sunday I think last year, and managed to park on a side street pretty much opposite the entrance for free, perhaps a 2 min walk. Saturday, not so sure though, I imagine the restrictions/costs will be substantial. Si

Hey bud, Glad you're liking the pedal!! Here's the diode menu: 1 - Channel 2 MOSFET 2 - Channel 2 LED 3 - Channel 2 Germanium 4 - Channel 2 Rectifier 5 - Channel 2 Silicon 6 - Channel 1 Silicon 7 - Channel 1 Rectifier 8 - Channel 1 Germanium 9 - Channel 1 LED 10 - Channel 1 MOSFET Characteristics wise, the Fuzzrocious descriptions are decent:

Silicon: warm, compressed, normal sounding
Rectifer: compressed and a little more dirty than silicon
Germanium: quiet, vintage, warm, perhaps some top end rolloff
LED: loud, brash, nasty
MOSFET would then give you a softer, more tube-like tone. That said, the bulk of the clipping on the 66 circuit is from the Opamps, the diodes are just adding character really, and that character can obviously be somewhat effected by the circuit in which they sit, so essentially, don't take the above tonal descriptions as gospel, just a guide I tend to keep my channel 1 as low gain Germs, with channel 2 being high gain LEDs. Hope it helps. Si

The GT-10B is cool, but probably a bit overkill in size and scope for Octave/Drive/Chorus?! Si
-
The ME-50B will do all the three things you need, and well, although you might need to spend some time dialing in the drive sound....took me a little while to get that side of it working for me. Si

I don't play a lot of Low B 5, but like having one as a gig comes through that requires one every now and then. I picked up a BB 615 second hand, mint, for £180 :-P SOOO much bass for that money! Even new, GAK had them for £299, which is still brilliant! Si

He could do well painting guest enclosures for builders! . I'd probably take a couple Si

They seem to have some great colours, carrying on the Lakland 'tradition', this one looks great. But yes, the headstock puts me way off unfortunately . Also, probably just a trick of the light, the bridge looks wonky? Si
Just noticed that Jah Wobble isn't on till 4.00 - his last appearance suggests that it'll be worth hanging around for..
So we'll watch him and then get going then Mick Si
The box is not "original" as it has written "Octave" all over it. I wasn't aware this could be an "issue" so I did not mention it "expressis verbis" but the pics are showing it.
I don't think it will be an issue at that price. You will get some people who will want the box 'all original' for collecting purposes etc, but most people just want to stick an OC-2 on the board and use it. And at this price, it's definitely worth picking up this Octaver! Si

I have a DHA VT-2 for sale as well! Yay go overdrive! Si

Did you email Fodera to ask? Si
Nice pedals! always fancied one of those Source Audio EQ's. That OC-2 is interesting too, It looks like its got post Octaver darker paint, but with the"r". I'm sure Sibob will be along soon to spill the beans. GLWTS
My experience of them is that not all Octavers had lighter paint, I've had a couple of the earlier 'Rs' that have had darker paint that some other earlier 'Rs'. Decent price for a boxed one......if I hadn't just gone from 9 to 4 OC2s, I'd be tempted Si

Overdrive: Beta vs Darklighter vs Vintage Microtubes vs Agro

I still really like the BB Pre, I think it works best as a low-med gain pedal, the high gain isn't the best IMO (although still very useable). But all in all, very versatile drive pedal! Si -
