1. And I'm certainly always keen for people to pick my brains about effects I'll bring along a board of goodies to make silly noises with......oh and a Fodera Si
2. Just treat yourself and buy a Boss OC-2. The Taiwan ones can be had for around £60 on eBay and it's all you'll ever want!! Si
3. I love that the lowest sting and the highest string aren't even over the fingerboard lol Si
4. I agree, probably a dodgy/dry solder joint somewhere. If there's noise and no bass sound, there's a signal path joint at issue probably. If there's bass sound AND noise, probably a ground joint. Si
I embrace the ethos of function over form.
Well yes, but neater wiring usually means shorter wires, which often means a quieter pedal. In any case, looks great, sound clips please Si
6. Looking for any trades? Or moving away from playing any instrument?! Cheers Si
7. I had the problem where the button would stick when I had my S1 Jazz, fortunately it just stuck in the 'series' mode, so I just forgot about it and left it lol. Eventually it was an easy fix. Si
8.
Hmmmm ... helpful if you're a drummer, I'd guess. I found myself automatically listening to the bass player.
Surely, as a bassist, you should be listening to the drummer?! Si
9. I played around with the idea of a P5 after I sold my J5. Settled on a Yamaha P/J 5, although still think I'd like a nice P5. Si
10. Yes, sounds fantastic, good buy Si
11. Awesome pedals!! Si
12. Impressive, sounds like Jon's got his times down. Although, from a construction point of view, guessing the 'Fender' builds are fairly quick. Can't wait to hear clips Si
13. What was the wait on it? Looks great btw Si
14. Lovely looking bass, was tempted very briefly! Si
15. Yep, surprised it got the go ahead actually. TC Group supplies chips and drivers to a number of MI companies. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Si
16. Oh man, that Sherwood Green P/J is going to be amazing......pics asap please I'd definitely consider a P/J (Precision body not Jazz body) in the same colour, that would be stunning! Si

Yeah sounds fantastic! I did a little demo of one on bass here: https://soundcloud.com/simonpoulton/eterna-mangler Si
18.
I have to jump in here to defend the accusations Behringer use slave labour. Behringer run a company city in China, cleverly named 'Behringer City' where the staff get free medical care, have access to good quality living accommodation, libraries, public parks and schools for their children. They are paid a reasonable wage for Chinese standards and by all accounts live a nice life.
Sounds great, I'm certain they can afford it though seeing as their offices in Germany probably equate to one room which houses a photocopier Si
19. Hey all, Thought I'd pop my DOD Envelope Filter up for sale. These are very similar to the FX-25, however with a better footswitch, better power socket & a clean blend control. I actually really love this pedal, I purchased it as a backup to my MXR, and it sounds sweet, but you will read that they have a slight gain drop, which for me made it difficult live. I'd say that this is more of a studio pedal, or perhaps you can make it work for you live. Killer sound though, goes really subby if you want. Paid £40 + postage, so £40 + £5 postage please Trades always welcome Cheers Si
20. DHA still available type bump Si
21. Yes I gig my '71 Precision anywhere, I may be a bit more choosey about taking out the MGS, however I want it to become my first instrument......that doesn't happen unless you play it ALL the time, need to know every little thing about it. I've never really practiced on my P-bass, it feels more like a 'gigging' bass if that makes sense, always practiced on a jazz when I had one or my P/J more recently. I've only been practising on the Fodera since I've had it, already starting to get used to having a High C again. Already on the insurance Si
22.
We also don't see them taking the overground to Deptford at 11:30 at night with a gig bag.
Haha, you know what I mean . Last time I saw Janek he didn't have a guitar stand, just leaning the bass against his amp. If course somewhere like Ronnie's you're not getting the kind of clientele at a piss-up pub on a Friday....but you choose your gigs . The Richard Bona documentary see' shin walking around New York in the snow with his Fodera in a (good) soft case, hailing taxis etc. Pretty normal Si
23.
I'm in. Might be able to pull 2 non BC member bass friends along too if it is allowed.
Definitely allowed! Si
24. Reductions, DHA & Bi-Fet still available. Would take an MXR Envelope Filter in trade Si
25. Yeah I just use a scarf underneath my Littlemark II lol Si
