2. Will do bud. I'm using the bass currently, but when the new fretted neck arrives (assuming someone doesn't purchase before), I'll get neck heel photos up. Cheers Si
3. Love mine! The one thing that really stands out for me is how amazingly they balance when carrying it on the side handle! Si
4.
The dual J looks like the old scheff model could yield some nice tones with the pick up placement
Either that or it's a standardised version of Ben Kenneys bass Si
5. Absolutely fine . I've had it with a High C for longer, but I first had it with a low B, didn't feel any different to my 34" Yamaha 5 Low B Cheers Si
6. I imagine it is probably Alder, I don't think Fender would have used Ash for solid colours, would have saved it for natural finishes. I could be wrong though Cheers Si
7. My experience of buying a YOB bass (and indeed my observance of others purchasing a YOB bass), is that they rarely work out. I understand the sentiment behind it, but purchase a bass because it speaks to you and feels great, not based on the year it was made. After all, what are the chances of two awesome things being made in the same year?! That said, maybe I'm just bitter and being born in '83, a pretty dry period, especially for Fender Si
8. Big 'ol bump. Yup, sorry, Sansamp is gone, will tidy the post up now. Cheers Si
9. Get some UK built Ashdown in your life, deserves to be played! Si
10. Get some single cut in your life......cheaply! Si

13.
I'd say jazz soloists are their target market, yes, with all their singlecut stuff etc. In a band context that requires solid no frills playing I don't see how a Fodera can beat the tried and tested J or P or MM, honestly. Note articulation up the dusty end is a non-issue. Mind, you can also spend a lot of money on such basses - but typically less than 5000k... I might be wrong though.
Sure, although I think thats why they introduced the NYC basses, a more 'trad' vibe. I guess there are also plenty of people who can quite happily spend 3-4k on a new Alleva Coppolo, Sadowsky or a Stenback (even more surprising to me), which is fundamentally a Fender Copy, albeit very well made. The basic price of a USA Sadowsky 5 string, before options is $4275! But if that person is happy, then it's worth it right?! Si
14. Yeah I've heard a lot of stories about Music Guard using every excuse to not pay out. Si
