1. Typical, after noting that none of these ever come up for sale....I bought new (albeit the Noir version) Oh well Great little tuner Si
2. Sounds like a real dark overdrive. BBJE/Mad Professor Blueberry maybe, Fuzzrocious Dark Driving etc. Si
3. Yeah, saw Tera Melos in London last night, the Bass Whammy sounds really great! You know.....just to help the G.A.S. Si
4. We'll see how this layout fairs: Si
5. Yeah it's cool, real grindy, and surpringly more gain in the mix than I thought. I thought I'd have to max the gain, but ended up winding it back a bit! Need to re-jiggle the board as the Mammoth enclosure doesn't lend itself to being the 2nd row on the flat. Don't have enough clearance for a riser though with how I store/transport it. Also think I need the tuner at the end of the chain as there seems to be some weirdness with the Polytune having a gain pedal after it! Si
6.
nice and compact! so are you another 'OC-2 after dirt' advocate too?? I just don't get on with my OC-2 after o/d or fuzz, but it seems to be how most people run their boards!
I'm a bit of a convert, although it always depends what you want to achieve. For this band I rarely use OC-2 with dirt, but when I do, I want to retain the subby lows, not compress it out with the dirt pedals. So I get slightly 'duller' dirt with the OC-2 on, but sounds massive Si
7. Re-shuffled my main board: Just felt like a bit of a change is all, nothing wrong with the old sounds. Although I did want to streamline power & tuning, so off came the T-Rex Juicy Lucy & TU-2, on goes Diago & TC. Just for some rotation, Fuzzrocious Dark Driving has replaced the COG 66 & because of the tuner/power change, had space to add the Mammoth clone I built Oh also moved OC-2 to post dirt rather than pre, MUCH better! Si
8. Do a lot of guys take FOH signals out of their pedalboard? I have to say I always have my DI on my amp. Or is it perhaps meant for more recording means?! Si

Buffer-lows
Problem is---especially with fuzz---that nearly everyone has a different view on what "works" and what doesn't, especially because it also depends to an extent on exactly what preamp is in your bass, your settings, what you're trying to do, etc.
Too true, hence me suggesting that you try as many as possible.....its fun.....trust me Si

Buffer-lows

I haven't owned an active bass in years and years, so can't help with comparisons. Ben @ Dwarfcraft certainly is a passive player, whether that means his circuits are catered towards those users I don't know, ask him on Twitter Again, Tom @ COG would be able to cater a Tarkin to whatever you want. Si

Buffer-lows

I just had a real quick google and the results were essentially "Muff-based circuits" (basschat doesn't have enough server space to list all the Muff derivatives ), and the Mastotron. Have a word with Tom @ COG, he made a Fuzz for Shep which had a variable Impedance control, it was probably Tarkin (Muff) based, but dunno for sure Si
12. 309 has some of the best driven bass sounds ever! Si

Buffer-lows

The simple fact is that it's a lot harder finding a fuzz to play nice with actives. My advice would be to try a load and pick the one you like (that 'never-ending' fuzz quest). You'll have a much better time with Muff based circuits than Fuzzface based circuits Si

Buffer-lows

Fuzz Face based circuits hate active basses and buffers as they have a similar effect on impedance. So no, you don't want a Buffer .......you want a passive bass lol Si
15. Hi guys, Selling this for the girlfriend. Crafted in China Squier Strat. It works fine, truss-rod & tuners are fine etc There are some scuffs and some sticker residue, but again, easily sorted, I've tried to capture in the photos. There is also a small Squier combo that doesn't work, the buyer is welcome to this, and is probably an easy fix. The guitar also has a basic soft case. Essentially the whole package is sold as seen, but we'd like to see it being used Not sure if it's financially worth posting it, but we're always around Bucks/Herts/London for pickup/trade SOLD Si
16. Bear in mind that if the Mooer is true bypass, so even with noise from a power supply, I wouldn't expect that noise to be 'effected', as such, there might be a fault with the Mooer. Si

Boss BF-2
cheers both - I was hoping that was the case, looks like a white-knob BF-2 is in my future... 9v PSA as opposed to annoying ACA too hopefully...
I've never had a problem running the older ACA Boss pedals from standard power supplied. Some do work with a much duller LED, however this seems to be resolved by Daisy-chaining it from a Boss tuner. Powering ACA pedals direct from a PSA-240 adaptor has worse results. Si

Boss BF-2
That's better. Hadn't had an eye test yet this year...
Fixed Sorry about that :-P Si

Boss BF-2

Boss Area has some good info: http://www.bossarea....e=boxes/bf2.xml "Version differences

The BF-2 exists in both metal screw and plastic screw versions.
The earlier versions had all black knobs. These where later changed to the white top knobs. The change took place 1990, very close to the same time that production was moved to Taiwan
There may be some BF-2's in pink. This was the original colour choice, but it was changed to purple in the last minute. Whether some pink ones exists out there is uncertain.
The BF-2's design remained virtually unchanged through its more than 20 year lifespan. From its birth in 1980 the label was black. It was changed to green in 1984. When production of the BF-2 moved to Taiwan 1990, the label kept its colour but was reprinted with the new country of origin. In 1994 the label was changed to orange. The CE-2B is the only other pedal to have use the orange label. Orange became pink in July 1997 and the final change happened in 1999 when the dark gray label was introduced" Looks like just the Opamp change, so not a grand difference, some people might claim to hear that difference perhaps. Si
20. The PSA-230es is rated at 200ma, if the Mooer is 128ma (I haven't checked), with your other pedals, you're probably approaching 150ma in total?! This, in my experience, is where noise and weirdness starts to get introduced as you run out of power to draw from. Think of MA headroom as wattage........you wouldn't run your 200watt amp at 200watts, it's going to start crapping out My rule of thumb is to have half of my supplies rating spare, considering I use a 5amp Gig-rig on one board and a 1amp T-rex on another, I genuinely keep things quiet Si
21. Yeah I was on the fence with regards to the Mini & the Nano, I went for the Mini just because I wanted a bit more space. I'd prefer some space between pedals, than some extra space onstage. Having said that, I think the Nano, weirdly enough, has a slightly nicer space underneath for power?! Si
22. If you want to try another DAW, check out Reaper.....free to use Si
23. Because it was a side-man soul gig......not a noise gig?! Si
24. Owning both seems to be the best idea Si
