I'm currently running this little setup. No board, partly because I'm cheap, and partly because I don't have enough hands to carry everything (carrying a bass, amp, backpack, and smoke machine is kind of inconvenient). Powered off a Diago PS01, running the daisy chain out from the tuner. Nothing too fancy, but it does the job. Next additions will probably be a chorus and a fuzz, which I'm going to be building. So that should be fun.
You might want to rethink your power perhaps, if you're Daisy tuning from the Diego then you're probably fine, however if you're feeding the Tuner from the Diago, then Daisy chaining from the tuner, you're going to run out of juice almost instantly. The TU-2 can only supply 200ma, the Cathedral requires 200ma on its own (or that's what the manual suggests). Si
Oh I know, I know. You're talking to someone who owns a b7k amongst others but it does seem like a lot still. No offence meant if you build them Sibob.
None taken mate . Some companies do take the mickey on the price a little, but still, many small builders still struggle even on current pricing Si
I know all pedals are the same, but the idea of charging £90 for a few pence worth of resistors and caps is crazy. You see those circuit diagrams and wonder why we bother don't you?
Purchase all the parts (high quality parts), time yourself building it (what do you like to be paid per hour?), do the internals appear a standard that you'd be happy to pay for? Decorate the enclosure to a degree that you'd be happy to purchase from a shop etc......... How much did it cost you in total? Si
Martin Owen at Owen Electronics will probably be able to sort this for you and I would expect it to cost less than a second hand replica.
Plus whatever value you lose off it being an 'original unmodded' DOD. Of course this doesn't matter to some people, which is cool, just saying Si

It doesn't sound as high gain as the SFT, but sounds nice, wonder what its like in a mix. Si

Check these guys out in Brighton: http://www.brightonion.co.uk/categories/AB%7B47%7DABC%7B47%7DABY/AB-Pedals/ Si

Yeah you won't find them for that cheap anymore haha Si

I'd say £90 is pretty cheap for a new pedal?! lol Si

Thought I'd do a 2014 updated Si

With fuzzes, often stacking 2 overly saturated effects will create an overly compressed sound, which doesn't suit many people. You might find that stacking two Russian Tall Fonts at lower gain settings will achieve a tone different to one Tall Russian at a higher gain setting. Personally, I find it more fun stacking different pedals, mix & match Si

I'll be along on Sunday nice and early to catch mr Steve Lawson, looking forward to it! Si

Obviously people can spend what they want on whatever gear they want, however I would prefer to spend more money on a quality hand-built pedal from a family business over x-amount to a mass produced, Chinese factory built That's in no way a snobby 'I only buy boutique' (I love my Boss stuff, but just saying in this instance And the nice thing, want more bass? Contact Ryan and ask if he can do that for you Si

The OCD/Demon is a different circuit to all the above that you own, as such, you will inherently find a different tone, however how different that tone is can often depend on your ears. I know guys who can tell the difference between OCD versions, and guys who can't tell the difference between a Big Muff & Tubescreamer. Si

Two Pogs and two Harmonists........serious pitch-shifting going on! Love it Si

I'd suggest leaving it as it is (they're kinda 'vintage' now), and buy a reissue to gig with (which has an LED) Si
Lovely stuff! I assume it can get pretty high gain as well? Have you been able to get anywhere near the scooped B3K-type tone from it as well at all? Tom's stuff's already on my board, but I'm looking to cover as many dirt tones with as few dirt boxes as possible! Thanks Si
It's not mega high-gain, but then I don't need it to be. I simply needed 2 channels of gain in as smaller a footprint as possible. Did you see the video demo I did for the 66 on youtube? Not had it sounding like a B3K, but then I'm not a fan of the B3K/B7K tone, so that's fine by me Si
Si, may be a bad comparison, but can you get sounds similar to an OCD/Demon from the 66 Knightfall?
They're all a very similar circuit, albeit with some component/architectural changes, and with the 66, some significant feature additions. I'm currently running my 66 with Germaniums in channel 1 and LEDs in channel 2, the OCD circuit, same as the DEMON, is traditional MOSFET clipping. As such, the answer is yes, the 66 can get OCD/DEMON-esque tones, but a lot more to boot! Si

Meh. I actually find it really difficult to get excited about digital multi-fx. They're cool if you're not into pedals and you just want one box to do it all 'alright', but it just sounds very beige to me based on the videos. Maybe I can have a listen up close at the LBGS Si

I've used TU-2s for years and years. No issues at all, perfectly great and built like a tank. Slightly dull dislay in bright sunshine, but it's the UK, so minimal negative effect there . Just got a Polytune mini to save space on a little board and it seems cool so far, some slight noise problems with it being a digital pedal in a power daisy chain. But changing it's position in the effects chain seems to have eleviated that. Si
Ta da! Need Velcro and won't be Running it with the band fir a few weeks yet, apologies for the small pic!
And running it into a Meatbox, boom! Si
Happy fuzz day! (for yesterday!) - took receipt of my Cog Grand Tarkin to celebrate, which is likely to bully my sfx micro fuzz of my board......
Piccccs Si
