1. I reckon it'll be great, but might break up fairly early? Which might be suitable to you Si
2. I'd agree with Shep here, Tom's (COG) blend is the only blend I've ever liked. Too often it simply sounds like you're diluting the sound of the pedal, need to boost the effect saturation as you introduce clean signal just to have it heard. My Knightfall 66 prototype is great though, I tend to only ruin the clean blend at about 30%, but as mentioned above, it's very musical. Si
3.
No - there is a regulated power supply not shown !! I wonder if a single PP3 could power them all
Best not to find out at a gig haha Si
4. A guitarist friend has 3 of the older model Treble N Basses, loves them, runs them with the 1x15 cabs they came with . 50w may or may not be enough for you to gig with, but by god you'll have a sweet recording amp! Si
5. http://www.audiokinesis.com/product_ak_thunderchild115.html Yeah, but.....you know......$1000...... plastic corners! Si
6.
Lol, still waiting to hear it with the band, as we've had to cancel all December gigs since the guitarist has had a weird epilepsy scare.
*Shelves the strobe-light pedal idea for another year* Hope he's all good! Si
7. Or if you're feeling adventurous: http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/mad-professor-blueberry.html I know it's not a BJFE, but he won't build you one, you gotta look at alternatives huh Si
8. Always worth asking the question directly though huh . You never know, he might build you one.....at a premium though I guess. Si
9.
New Pedal Train Junior has allowed for a much cleaner set up. Noise floor is better all around too due to the patch cables and power cables not crossing paths so much.
You know I approve so hard! Si
10.
Ok - two signal paths, Line A EBS Bass Iq >> Boss Chorus Line B Deep Impact >> EBS Octbass >>EBS Multicomp (always on) >> Sansamp DI The black box at the back is to control the Mute and Sub on my Ashdown amp. Grey box back left is for the stage cable to/from the amp. Just realised how mucky the board is but those are the remnants of a lot of Pyros !!
How are you powering it all? Not from the LS-2 surely? Si
11. I've just had a quick search and can't see any for sale at all :-P You might be able to contact Bjorn directly, if he's still hand-building for people?! Maybe keep an eye out over here: http://www.bjfe.org/index.php Si
12. Good luck finding a second-hand one! Mad Professor makes a more readily available 'production' run of the pedal, never tried one but people seem to like it. Fuzzrocious also do their take on it called 'Dark Driving' Si
13. I had great results from the GGG Green Muff, I also added the AMZ Mid/body/presence control, which is great. Good place to start Si
14. I can highly recommend the GGG Green Muff Clone to build Si
15.
2. Use a heat sink when working with certain components, e.g. 1N34 diodes, as they don't like getting too hot.
Although I often socket diodes too! Do you know what Fuzz you want to build? Each circuit has inherent pitfalls really. Si
16.
I don't even particularly like muse!!!
Perhaps not, but distortion is fun! Si
17. A Bass Muff Deluxe and a Lomenzo Drive a small pedalboard do not make lol Si
18.
I also asked Tom to remove the silicon diodes, and put a three-way switch in to select between LEDs, asymmetric LEDs and no diodes (you'd love this Si! ;-)).
It's ALL about asymmetric LEDs Si
19.
a Rat Tail's distortion isn't it? Do you have any experience with the darkglass vmt?
Distortion, overdrive, the only real difference is saturation. I've only played the B7K, and I wouldn't hurry back to it, but the VMT is meant to be more warm and 'tube-like'....hence the name I guess. Si
20. I have to say, blasphemous, but I don't get on with the B3K or B7K, like you say, very metallic and not too warm......or natural sounding to my ears. All harmonic distortion and no meat (without using a blend). Gimme my Rat Tail any day Si
21. Yeah Thuminator is everything below 30hz, don't think I'd want to cut any higher than that tbh, cutting at 50hz you're going to be losing from the E string which I thought sat around 41hz Si
22.
Joe's pedals have a used MD-2 for sale http://www.joespedal...Distortion.html £35! Bargain...
Used to be mine, so its the one in that video/audio test Si
23. Bare in mind that the LPB-1 is essentially a clean boost, it will only work as an overdrive if it's driving a tube amp (which you might be running of course), you don't want to clip your solid-state amp :-/ If you're on a budget, I can confirm that the Boss MD-2 is cool, more than enough bottom end on tap, I much preferred it over the ODB-3, especially in the band mix. In fact, have an oolldddd comparison vid I did: For all three 8-bar riffs the sequence is: Clean - ODB-3 - MD-2 (so ignore the picture) As above, I've also heard good things about the Hardwire CM-2. The Bad Monkey is cool, basically a tube-screamer, however often requires a mod to get enough bottom-end through. Si
24. Yes I would stay away from the ODB-3. More fizzy buzz than anything IMO. If you're handy with a soldering iron, why not consider putting something together yourself. Check out pedalparts.co.uk , full kits galore Si
25. Interested in an MXR Gate as a trade? Cheers Si
