1. Are you referring to when the SFT is on or off? It's a true bypass pedal, so it would surprise me a great deal if it was affecting tone whilst not engaged. Bear in mind as well that you do have buffers on your board already, the Boss, the Moog & the Whammy......whether you like the sound of those bypasses is another question . I've never had a problem with Boss buffers, the Moog I've not tried, the Whammy is famously not nice from what I understand. Si

Gojira Pedals.

They seem pretty active on Twitter/Facebook etc, with a new social media girl (Angie), perhaps try and get them on there?! Si

Forgot to post my Rat clone here: Really happy with how this turned out sound wise, Madbeans Rat clone with Ruetz mod and diode selection. The actual PCB was the second I ever soldered, just been hanging around for a while in it's enclosure waiting to be finished. As such, I was a bit gung-ho and drilled the enclosure before I realised that the board accepted mounted switch & pots. Oh well, fairly neat apart from that The paintjob is a mottled/crackled look, very cool, hard to catch in photo Si

Very cool Pete! Using it for bass? Did you mod the component values at all? Si
5. If you have a line selector pedal that allows you to run both channels at the same time, it will give you 2 parallel channels out to one amp, allowing you to retain low end (clean channel) and mix in effects (2nd channel). You don't need two amp setups. On a single mode, the LS-2 doesn't do what the original post states, running either channel individually or both, you have to physically change it's mode to do that....not ideal. Si
6. Solid power unit, 12v outputs, but I run this with a number of 9v pedals no issue at all (maybe check with your manufacturers though). Excellent price too! Si
7. This will be seriously excellent!! Love my Demon, and LED clipping is the one Si
8. Received this as part of a trade, it essentially owes me £270 Excellent condition, although some light fading of some text on the faceplate: Gigged once by me. Still boxed Looking for a sale or trades/part ex's, possibilites + cash etc include: - 3Leaf Enabler - other Darkglass - Fuzzrocious Ram The Manparts Etc SOLD Cheers Si
9. Why run two amps/cabs?, just have a line selector (Boss, SFX, COG, Lehle etc) that have two channels into one output. The Boss does not allow you to run each channel independently as well as both together (on one setting anyway), which is a shame. My SFX does, and COG have built a similar one to that which also includes phase adjustment. All of those mix to a single output, meaning you have two channels into one amp. If you want something with an output for each channel (so into two amps), some further research you may have to undertake* Si *went a bit Yoda there

Isn't the Yamaha NE1 just the pedal version of his pre? Or just the mid-shape? (Not looked at the bass layout) Si
11. The Organizer works great on bass, in fact I actually think it's better voiced for bass. Because it can go two octaves up, I find that too much on guitar, whereas on bass it has a really nice quality. The down octave is great, although much less synthy and subby than the OC-2 for example. Check my Organizer bass demo here: http://soundcloud.com/simonpoulton/earthquaker-devices-organizer Another simple and great sounding Octave is the DOD Ocotoplus, usually can be picked up real cheap, however just does one octave down. I think down octaves often track better on bass as they tend to require a rounder, fatter tone going into them to tracks. Up octaves I have experimented with less, however my experience suggests that there is no difference in how they track with bass compared to guitar. Si
12. Consider this value for money (for the effects/sounds you get), Pete Cornish sells his Fuzz Pedal for nearly £600 lol http://www.petecornish.co.uk/SAEP-1.html Si
13. For simple one up & one down, the EHX Pog is probably fave around here. For setting a bit more 'musical', check out the Earthquaker Devices Organizer Si
14.
isnt the Markbass mini distortion thing a tubescreamer as well?
This is unconfirmed, I made the suggestion after comparing the pedal to an Xotic BB Pre, but not sure of the specifics. Si
15. Ah ok gotcha, 2 seperate sets makes sense for that money. Balls, I'm assuming not as an unsecured creditor, but any noise that you'll see any money back? Si
16. Sorry to hear that buddy I'm sure I missed this detail early on, but what prompted you to spend £290 on some pickups? Were they custom from the ground up? Si
17. Very cool man, let us know how you find it at gigs, for me, the revelation was the high knob (I was surprised too). I've got both channels set to LEDs, they're my jam Si
18. Sorry, I misread your post, I was looking at the Free The Tone site that has some guts/PCB shots up Good job on the find in any case, its always nice finding a dirt pedal that sounds ace to your ears! Si
19. It's the basis for SO many drive pedals. I would suggest that most pedal companies will have a fuzz based off a Muff or possibly a Fuzzface, and a drive based off a Tubscreamer or increasingly the OCD Si
20. The circuit looks fairly similar to the Xotic BB preamp, as do the controls. Obviously there are tweaks to make it their own, but I bet it's just a tube screamer derivative (nothing wrong with that, solid basis for a bass drive) Si
21.
[sfx] Energiser SOLD subject to the usual blah blah blah.
I feel like you're just not trying anymore Jack Si
22.
A minor negative is the chicken head knobs, they are cool and makes it easy to see the settings but they protrude outside of the enclosure which looks a bit amateurish to me.
I've always felt that Chickenheads only really come into their own on single knob, or possibly 2 knob pedals. As you said, annoying hanging over the edge, can get knocked easier. Swap them out for some Davis 1510 knobs Si
23. Yup, a lifelong orchestral double-bass will often price in at around £50,000 etc But then, those guys are often much more about getting on with playing and not messing around with gear. Price of a bass (any gear), utterly subjective, pointless comparing them......anything. MIM vs Squier example? Still pointless, even if the materials are considered 'better' (assuming its not made of beans or something), if one speaks to you and the other doesn't, then which do you think you'll pick? That said, better materials often, not always, means it might be more likely to produce a more pleasing sound and feel in general. Fodera; If I played one and that was it, bass for life, I'd find a way to pay for one, never happened, so I won't. Do I resent them for pricing the way they do? of course not, it's a wonderful state of affairs that a small team of craftsmen are that successful whilst staying true to their roots. Of course, if you've owned one, and it fell short of the mark, then surely question why you purchased it in the first place? An assumption that something utterly subjective will be the one for you based on rhetoric and others' experience should be a lesson on how to purchase gear . If, to you, it fell short of the mark simply because of one customer's opinion of the sound, and you sold it for that reason, then I would suggest that you're in for a LOT of gear changes haha Si
I really need to find time to build some pedals, work is pretty much an electronics sweetshop, boss has said I can help myself to passives, stripboard, the cheaper IC's and pots, pretty much the only things I'd need to buy are enclosures and footswitches....
Thats what my dad is like, he's the electronics head technician at a college, so I get my pick of passives, wire, Vero and switches, have to find the more obscure stuff myself, although he did come back with a bunch of silver micas for me. Nom! Si
