1. My opinion? Unless you need the cash, wait until the COG arrives.....they might work wonderfully together Si

Moog Minifoogers

With all the size-necessary feature ommisions though, I wonder if they'll just be on-par with similar pedals of their size/function?! Si
3.
By the sound of things you're looking for a fuzz rather than an overdrive. The ODB-3 pushes into fuzz territory at it's higher settings. Personally I found the worst thing about the ODB was it's description - it's not really an overdrive, at least not a smooth one, and retains a fizzy edge whatever the settings. I thought it was very good at aggressive tones that stopped short of full on fuzz, the sort of thing that would probably appeal to fans of active basses into GK gear.
I agree, however, it's not even an average Fuzz sound lol Si
4.
Hi Si just wondered why you say stay away from the ODB-3 I have one but have not really played with it much its not very "dirty" though if you get what I mean?
It just sounds like a bee-in-a-jar, not overdrive at all, a mild fuzz maybe. The blend just makes that rubbish effect less distinct. I think Boss are great, but they fell over on this one IMO. It's probably fine for home use, but I found it utterly useless in a band setting. I would say go with the Xotic BB Bass Preamp, super solid drive/overdrive, but not cheap (albeit usually under a ton). The Xotic is essentially a modded Tubescreamer circuit, so with that in mind, for a cheap equivalent, the Bad Monkey is a good bet, although some people do have to mod them to retain more bass. Si
5. For anyone who is interested, the S1 switch on the Jazz's (less so the Precisions) is excellent. I always have mine in series! Si
6. Sorry, you said overdrive, clearly my suggestion wasn't overdrive. But still.....a good vibrato. I'd stay away from the ODB-3, plenty of good suggestions here. I always thought the Boss Mega Distortion was great on bass, I picked one up for £27 on eBay :-P Si
7. Awesome drive/distortion, really versatile especially with the 2nd setting (same as mine) Si
8. The Behringer Ultra Vibrato sounds great, if built like a wet cake Si
9. I don't think Watkins was integral to the band at all, average voice, miserable live. To me that screams "easily replacable" However, the Lost Prophets brand has pretty much been dragged through the mud because of him, I certainly don't blame the band at all. I might expect them to do an Alterbridge (post Creed) and simply reform under a different name/frontman perhaps Si
10. There are so many Rat variants, pictures will greatly help people identify it Cheers Si
11. Love my PN-2, goes from gentle swells to fast chop and is a weird turquoise green! Lovely :-D Si
12.
Tom's starting building me a 66 now :-) saw your you tube vid on his recommendations.........I was sold :-)
Awesome, let us know what you think!! Si
13. GigRig Generator, distributor & couple of voltage changers. Super modular setup, 5amps power, expensive though Si
14. Pino will also excel in any given musical situation......but for me, JMJ was the ultimate NIN bassist! Si
15.
If you're new to all of this shizzle then the easiest thing in the world is to pop into Maplins. Don't do this. It's WAY cheaper (by at least 50%) to get your components etc... from this chap. http://doctortweek.co.uk
+100000 etc Si
16.
I suggest 90 degrees.
Oooops , can you tell I was tired lol Si
17. Considering the Tombola didn't happen Plus I won near the end which was when the XL polo's, blame Nik for pointing me at the Tombola prizes Si
18. Ooo, also, I won some velcro in the raffle....those who know me will understand how useful this is Si
19. He probably likes it as it's a more solid, tourable version of his old Microsynths (he hates the new EHX synths) Si
20.
Anyone have a recommendation of a wide, but not very deep pedal?
Just anything Boss/MXR sized turned 45 degrees? Or maybe a landscape 1590BB (same as your Fuzzrocious Demon). Any 1590a pedal? Si

DIY Effects

Red Llama clone finished yesterday. Great sounding fuzzy overdrive (originally called Tube Sound Fuzz by Craig Andreson). First attempt at spraying enclosures, and probably the last . Getting the insides tidier I think, but just experimenting with finishing the outsides a bit. Si
22. I don't think it's people suggesting overdrive, just that overdrive is one of their essentials. As mentioned, it's so subjective, however there is certainly instances of overdrive and fuzz in funk/disco, Bootsy, Bernard Edwards, Stevie Wonder etc. Sometimes they were pedals, sometimes they were just basses too hot for the recording equiptment. Just depends on your ears and preferences Si
23. Hi guys, I had a blast! . Was great to see a number of faces I haven't caught up with for a while. Nice to play a few basses I've never tried, and spy a few interesting pedal setups Thanks every one involved, and everyone who turned up, busiest year yet?! Until next year Si
