3. I really like the idea of it, but I use a lot of Octave effects, and I found that it did shave some low-end and character from my OC-2 etc. Si

I'd say don't get anything from Maplins, I was shocked at their prices, 30p for a resistor?! :-O Definitely get a helping/third hand! Si
5. Woah, thought I got my Sansamp BDDI for a steal at £75, but that's crazy. Nice one for passing on the price Si

Buffer for a guitarist friend, based off the Klon buffer, works a treat!: Si
7.
TRUE TRUE. I have two, one rolling into another, however Tom @ COG is slowly making me want to swap them out for a custom unit. I could get something like the a double darklighter in one box with separate EQs. I would need to hear a one with a 2 or 3 band EQ before I decide properly.
Just get the, as yet unreleased, Knightfall 66 Si
8.
Very, very close.:-) https://soundcloud.c...2-clone-faux-c2
Very cool, sounds great!! :-D. Gotta make me one of them haha.
For those of you who have multiples of them...can I ask why? Do they sound different or is it just a collectors thing?
Partly a collector thing, partly a 'what if they all break' overeaction kinda thing I use them so frequently, pretty much everyone musical situation, that I like rotating them a bit so as not to wear them out. OCD? Almost certainly, but hey, we all have our vices Database upto date, keep 'em coming Si
9. HI guys, You should all know about these, but if not, take a look here: http://www.orangeamp...error-bass-500/ This is currently stock as sent back from being serviced by Orange, but I'll include a matched pair set of 12AT7WA / ECC81 Philips / Mullard NOS valves if you would like to mess about with them. This is one of the older models I believe, with the hot DI output, I've had it for around 2-3 years. In the interests of transparancy, this was serviced due to an intimitant signal drop-out issue, this has been resolved by Orange, but just so its out there. A fair price seems to be £300, collection very much preferred in the South Bucks, Herts, London area, although at a push I can pack it up if you want to organise a courier. Pics will be available asap but it really is just a standard looking Terror, condition is excellent, although the carry case shows very slight signs of ware. The box is also included. Always open to trades, looking for a maple-board Fender USA Precision neck, always open to pedal trades etc Thanks Si
10. I think the main issue from Jon is that he advises of a completion date, he might want to try and manage timescale expectations a bit better (remember when it was 6months? ) If a builder states "I can't tell you when it will be finished, but take a look at these previous timescales", this may relieve any customer tension as well as the odd order which would probably help him out a bit. Si
11. Two channel options can be a good call, I use it all the time with my COG custom and Fuzzrocious Rat Tail (2nd drive option). Check out the Knightfall '66' by COG Effects (based on my custom). It's an overdrive distortion that has two volume controllable channels and a bunch of diode options on each. So you can have channel 1 as low grit, and channel 2 as much heavier without a volume jump: http://www.cogeffect.../si-poulton.php As mentioned, Fuzzrocious also offer a 2nd Drive options on a bunch of their pedals, you could order Rat Tails, Grey Staches & Demon's direct from them for that option. Also check out the Dark Driving, BDPG & Ram The Manparts pedals for low grit, Joes Pedals have some in stock: http://www.joespedal...ous_Pedals.html I should also say that I'm a massive fan of the Xotic Bass BB Pre, excellent pedal with a ton of sounds. It's low grit sounds great! Si

D.A.M. Meathead clone on the left and a 'Jimi' Spec, negative ground, Fuzz Face on the right I love the daughter-boards for the switch, but will work much cleaner with the LED drilled near the switch (I drilled these enclosures before I got the switch boards) Si
13.
Akai Headrush is an excellent live tool. Far less options than the others, but that makes it so easy to use!
Agreed, I love my Headrush E2, fine looper and even better delay/echo pedal Si
14. Basically, there are a LOT of pedals that will wind back to only giving a little bit of grit. Trouble is, finding that pedal where you LIKE that bit of grit, it can be a long search for 'the one' lol'. If you want a pedal that provides a bit of openend up grit only, check out the Wren & Cuff Phat Phuk B......thats all it does, whereas other drive pedals will often go more distorted, this just does a gritty boost. Think there's one for sale here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/215974-fs-wren-and-cuff-phat-phuk-b/ Si
15.
Mine's not got one 'cos I made it myself! THAT'S the geekiest thing I've ever done.
I like your style, how does it compare to the real thing? Cheers Si
16. So excited to try these. I do like the Starcaster, but agree that the Coronado has it all going on! I've been looking for an old Coronado, but surprisingly rare on the ground! Si
17. As mentioned above, lots of choice nowadays. I would suggest that you'll only want an entry type looper at this stage, like the TC Ditto, Boss RC-3 or Digitech Jam-Man Solo. Another good way of not spending out on a looper specifically, is to buy a Delay pedal that has Looping functionality, such as the Boss DD-7, TC Flashback, Akai Headrush, Line6 DL-4 Anything above those might be overkill for you at this point Si
18. RATM = Standard & Drop D Audioslave = BEAD (I'm not into them, so might be other tunings too) Si
19. Yeah Timmy is a combination of pedals he made himself, pickups he's wound himself, combos of clean and dirty amps, custom speakers in his cabs. He's notoriously shady with what gear he uses, his view is that he's spent a LONG time and a LOT of effort scuplting it, why should people be able to achieve it with one pedal etc. He also famously includes pedals on his pedal boards that he doesn't use, empty enclosures etc, to throw people off when taking photos of it. So i'm not saying you can't approximate it, but his sound is his sound, figure out your sound maybe?! Si
20. This might be better in the DIY Pedal sub-forum?! I can move it if you like Si
21. I would agree with buying an ME-50B normally, however depends what effects you want to use. For example, the Octaves and Envelopes are on the same 'pedal' and so can't be used at the same time (ignoring the expression pedal here). Overal it's a great pedal (I own it), however the drives are lacking IMO. Line6 M9 or Zoom B3 perhaps. My covers board is just individual pedals; Tuner, Octave, Envelope Filter and Overdrive/Distortion. It all gets used fairly sparingly, but just adds colour when necessary Si
22.
Hi everyone' i have 218100 which i believe is Aug 82.. sounds wonderful should i keep this over the... mxr'or aguilar?
Great, added to the spreadsheet If you move it on, let me know Cheers Si
23. This is the thing, as everyone knows, trying to emulate multiple amp/cab/pedal setups simply with a few pedals is incredibly difficult. People report that even the Billy Sheehan pedal doesn't really get his sound, as it's a combination of so many things.....plus the player themselves. Si
24. I'm currently building a Meathead Dark Fuzz for Bass, from what I hear it's pretty killer! There are plenty of clones about, the Gojira Meatboy can be had for not much money at all, worth a look for a super simple hi-gain Fuzz Si
