Haha, I wouldn't say I'm a snob (much), whatever works for the individual However I will say that I've never heard a decent overdrive/distortion/fuzz from a stock Multi-FX. I've got a Boss ME-50B, and it does everything extremely well apart from drive lol. However given the choice, yes, I would use nice single pedals over cheap digital multi's That said, I tried an old Zoom 708 the other month for the first time in years, hilarious, it was so horrible that it was cool! What 'proper' pedals have you been trying that don't stand up to a Zoom 505? lol Don't get me wrong, everything is completely subjective......but still Si

Same as Si above, no FX talk this year, but always willing to bring along anything people want to try and answer any FX/Pedal related questions Updated list here: http://simonpoulton.tumblr.com/post/42859467332/effects-pedal-collection Si -

Wow, yes, really looking like it'll be well attended. It's looking like this is the first year I won't have to shoot off to a gig, so looking forward to chilling out a bit Si -

I wouldn't necessarily class a compressor/limiter as an essential, IMO. My 'essentials' board is tuner, octave, overdrive/distortion & envelope filter. But then everyone is different in their 'must-haves' Si

How hot are you running the drive? Doesn't sound right Si
-
Yes, with all due respect, a Line6 POD is not going to give you that tone when there are so many elements to it in reality. A poor approximation maybe Si
-
Based on all other Mooers I've tried, this will be appealing on paper, but underwhelming in it's application. Si

OC-2......probably?! Si

I really like the idea of it, but I use a lot of Octave effects, and I found that it did shave some low-end and character from my OC-2 etc. Si

I'd say don't get anything from Maplins, I was shocked at their prices, 30p for a resistor?! :-O Definitely get a helping/third hand! Si
TRUE TRUE. I have two, one rolling into another, however Tom @ COG is slowly making me want to swap them out for a custom unit. I could get something like the a double darklighter in one box with separate EQs. I would need to hear a one with a 2 or 3 band EQ before I decide properly.
Just get the, as yet unreleased, Knightfall 66 Si
Very, very close.:-) https://soundcloud.c...2-clone-faux-c2
Very cool, sounds great!! :-D. Gotta make me one of them haha.
For those of you who have multiples of them...can I ask why? Do they sound different or is it just a collectors thing?
Partly a collector thing, partly a 'what if they all break' overeaction kinda thing I use them so frequently, pretty much everyone musical situation, that I like rotating them a bit so as not to wear them out. OCD? Almost certainly, but hey, we all have our vices Database upto date, keep 'em coming Si

Orange Bass Terror 500 FS/FT - Recently Serviced - TRADED

HI guys, You should all know about these, but if not, take a look here: http://www.orangeamp...error-bass-500/ This is currently stock as sent back from being serviced by Orange, but I'll include a matched pair set of 12AT7WA / ECC81 Philips / Mullard NOS valves if you would like to mess about with them. This is one of the older models I believe, with the hot DI output, I've had it for around 2-3 years. In the interests of transparancy, this was serviced due to an intimitant signal drop-out issue, this has been resolved by Orange, but just so its out there. A fair price seems to be £300, collection very much preferred in the South Bucks, Herts, London area, although at a push I can pack it up if you want to organise a courier. Pics will be available asap but it really is just a standard looking Terror, condition is excellent, although the carry case shows very slight signs of ware. The box is also included. Always open to trades, looking for a maple-board Fender USA Precision neck, always open to pedal trades etc Thanks Si

I think the main issue from Jon is that he advises of a completion date, he might want to try and manage timescale expectations a bit better (remember when it was 6months? ) If a builder states "I can't tell you when it will be finished, but take a look at these previous timescales", this may relieve any customer tension as well as the odd order which would probably help him out a bit. Two channel options can be a good call, I use it all the time with my COG custom and Fuzzrocious Rat Tail (2nd drive option). Check out the Knightfall '66' by COG Effects (based on my custom). It's an overdrive distortion that has two volume controllable channels and a bunch of diode options on each. So you can have channel 1 as low grit, and channel 2 as much heavier without a volume jump: http://www.cogeffect.../si-poulton.php As mentioned, Fuzzrocious also offer a 2nd Drive options on a bunch of their pedals, you could order Rat Tails, Grey Staches & Demon's direct from them for that option. Also check out the Dark Driving, BDPG & Ram The Manparts pedals for low grit, Joes Pedals have some in stock: http://www.joespedal...ous_Pedals.html I should also say that I'm a massive fan of the Xotic Bass BB Pre, excellent pedal with a ton of sounds. It's low grit sounds great! Si

D.A.M. Meathead clone on the left and a 'Jimi' Spec, negative ground, Fuzz Face on the right I love the daughter-boards for the switch, but will work much cleaner with the LED drilled near the switch (I drilled these enclosures before I got the switch boards) Si
