  1. I've always been a bit confused by the Matamp website, what's what basically. Jack you mentioned a GT120, doesn't seem to be on the site.....what's that? Si
  2. It just looks like a Wooly Mammoth Clone, lots of them about. Nice graphics and LED use though. If it's a direct clone, they sound huge on bass. Si
  3. Possibly, although he doesn't want to track the direct signal too, just wants the Low C. All Octaves I've tried do not create a low note that accurately recreates the tone of the direct signal.....nor would I want it to. In fact I'd rather use my OC-2 over a 5 string, I love having the clarity of the C (3rd fret A), with the rumble and sub of the low C Si
  4. Yup, always have your bass on full volume if using pedals. Guitar output is a huge factor. My new US Jazz & old Precision drive pedals wonderfully, nice high output. My old Jazz has a pretty low output and can't really push pedals the way I want without a compressor in front. Si
  5. Is the Bogdan the Love in the picture or the Hate (3 knobs) in the listing? Si
  6. Didn't fancy the higher tension string idea? Si

    Arpeggiator?!

Cheapest option is probably the Boss Slicer. It is largely a rhythm chopper-upperer, but it has some octave patterns that essentially make it an arpeggiator. Great pedal for the money! Si
  8. yes, HH2 is the wireless one, have updated the main post Added a video too Cheers Si
  9. This is why I think it's a completee waste of time trying anything at a shop or at home, certainly for sounds. Sure, try a bass in a shop or set it up at home to get the feel right, but whether you like the sound will be determined within the context with which you intend to use it.....same with pedals. Si
  10. If you can, try pedals in the context of your band....it changes things expidentially Si
  11. All three terms tend to be interchangable. Distortion is the effect in my eyes, the clipping provided by the circuit is 'distorting' the signal. Overdrive I think comes from how old amps would distort the signal by the user 'overdriving' the tubes, because of the nature of the act in the early days, the result was usually fairly low gain.....hence lower gain pedals being referred to as overdrive as opposed to distortion, which often relates to higher gain circuits. Fuzz tend to be more saturated, with mid cuts, sometimes more squarewave sounding. All of these overlap at some point with some pedals having multiple mods, options, gain stages, clipping options etcetc. Its all about what sounds good to your ears in the mix Si
  12. I've got a really nice dirt pedal on the way from Tom, we're both pretty excited about it, twas a really fun collaborative process. Final spec submitted couple of days ago, so a few weeks I think until we can reveal it Si
  13. OC-2 Or a Rat Tail Or my custom Cog Effects Or an OC-2 *implode*

    Pitchfactor

Pantherairsoft swears by his Pitchfactor, loves it! However, he often still uses it with an OC-2 and a tuner. I'm sure he'll be along soon to comment Si
  20. Looks awesome, beautiful 60's deep burst! Played the series at LBGS this year and was very impressed Si
  21. Guage isn't a great help with tension, it's more to do with core size. Go have a chat with Newtone Strings, tell them what guages you like, and what tuning you want to achieve and they'll make you a set. I used high tension sets exclusively for a few years as I wanted to retain my 45-105 guages in Drop C Standard, obviously the downside is that you can't tune up to E standard. Si
  22. I know its listed as a preamp, but it's as much a preamp as the Grey Stache is, it's essentially just an (awesome) overdrive with a versatile tone control. But regardless, can go wherever you think sounds best in the chain Si
  23. Awesome GS! I always preferred my BDPG into the GS, but whatever works! Si
