It's the standard Mad Beans Slow Lorris, so it's essentially a Rat (LM308) with the Ruetz mod (a frequency clipping sweep) and diode selection (diodes/none/leds). Should be cool, looking forward to the Egghead (Clark Gainster) and the Green Russian Muff kit to Si
2. There's a bunch of information relating to just lubing it up, making sure the nut is tight etc. I could replace the switches obviously. Annoyingly it's just come back from the Line6 repair department as the DSP chip and gone kaput, I bought up the switch issue but they reckoned it was all working fine.....its not. booo Si
3. Has anyone had a DL-4 (or another in the modelling range) that has sticky footswitches, essentially unresponsive switches that take a number of stomps before they engage. Any fixes? Cheers Si

Just a couple of Mad Beans PCBs I'm working on: Si
5. I love that their opening gambit is: "Ditto Looper is the looper you try once and love for life and you’ve simply got to try it! TC has taken all that is good about loopers, trimmed away all the non-essential, mood-killing tech hoopla and ended up with a looper that is intuitive, tons of fun, sounds great and doesn’t break the bank" This is from TC who bought us the Flasback x4 recently lol Si
6. Yeah stacking distortions is very common, but obviously you're adding gain to gain, so you have to be careful of your signal level, you could simply be pushing your amp a bit hard. Pull the levels of the two pedals back a bit. Si

Sure, thanks for the info, I'll be working from the GGG Green Russian schem when the PCB arrives, and also from this Mids mod: http://rkerkhof.ruhosting.nl/Taas/Mods/Big%20Muff.htm Is that a 25k log or Lin pot? Cheers Si

What type of pot might I use for a mids control on a muff clone? Cheers Si
9. Always buy music that I genuinely love, its a basic show of respect for an artist! If I'm learning a song, Youtube...simples SI
10. Yeah I just get the rolls of heavy duty from John Lewis or B&Q. I prefer heavy duty as my pedal board gets picked up on its side, if you're picking up flat all the time (small board), standard should suffice. Cheers Si
11. Re-jiggled my 'utility' board a bit Si
12. I'm also using passive Jazz/Precision combos and really didn't like the Streamliner (not even mentioning the 3 different volume knobs). As someone also said, I quickly went back to my Markbass, which I pretty much run 'all at 12', apart from the VPF/VLE which get run about 8oclock or 9oclock Si
13.
I couldn't get a sound I liked with the Streamliner. Too big down low, to unfocusedd in the mids.
This for me too! Even with my Barefaced......my Markbass LMII does the trick no issue though Si
14. Ant on here has one on pre-order already Si
15.
I think my tu3 can supply up to 7 boss pedals?
It depends on the ma rating of those 7 pedals. Generally speaking, you can treat milliamps like amp wattage headroom, you want more than you need. I would want my power supply to not be running over half capacity, so say the Boss tuner can supply 200ma, and you have 7 pedals that total 170ma, you're going to probably start hearing some excess noise and perhaps some sag with regards to the actual effects. In your case, if you have 7 Boss pedals that add up to 90ma (Check Boss Area for the ratings), you're fine. Cheers Si
16. The seller is in Spain, so I suspect he paid slightly more initially (P&P etc). Please try and avoid bringing up pricing issues in the thread. Cheers Si
17. I prefer a kettle lead into power supply than a hardwired wall-wart daisy-chained......the latter tend to break much more often. Also, you can usually get a lot more MA from a dedicated power supply as opposed to a tuner. I think a Boss TU-2 can supply around 200ma, although the Polytune is more from what I remember. My Gig-Rig power supply gives me 5amps of available power. Si
18.
Cool I'll check those out when I get a few minutes. Is there such thing as a compact(ish) overdrive with a valve onboard?
Not that I know of, the DHA will be the kind of size you can expect if you want an actual tube. The Catalinbread SFT is also based on SVT sounds. Si
19. The Xotic Bass BB Pre is a previous versatile pedal, from low-gain overdrive to pick driven distortion! All in a small enclosure! Si
20. Couple to look out for: Fuzzrocious Dark Driving Wren & Cuff Phat Phuk B Xotic Bass BB Pre Si
21. Looky what arrived at Christmas (apologies for the dodgy phone pics): Si
