1. Wish this was available: http://www.mooeraudi...tInfo.asp?id=52 Hustle Drive on the way though Si
2. Cool, thanks for the input, sounds like I'll have to specify! Cheers Si
3.
You can do a "bespoke" cover where you specifiy the dimensions and where all the holes and handles are at no extra cost. If it does not fit they are usually very good at replacing it.
Yus, thats what I've done previously. Just wondering if I need to do that or not I have the board pockets fitted for the cloth grills, so always aware which is the front lol Si
4. See thats how my Compact ones came (landscape), after I asked for them not to be, but wondered if the Midgets were the same as default?! Cheers Si
5. Has anyone ordered one of these? Do they come has fitting in the playing position, or 'portrait' as default? Cheers Si
6. As anyone who saw my FX talk at the SE Bash will testify, the OC-2 tracks fine down to at least a Low E. As you go below A, the time it tracks for reduces obviously, but mine all track a low E for about a second before glitching back to just the direct signal. The amount of 'glitch' you get will often depend on how buzzy your frets are, if you have even slightly buzzing, uneven frets, it stands to reason that a pedal will struggle to track that signal. The smoother and rounder the signal you put into it, the pedal will track a lot easier. Also make sure that your octave goes at the start of your chain, it will again struggle to track a note that effected already. Si
7. You'll like this Ant, doesn't go as low as the GEB-7, but has that nice 1k band. Si
8. Ummm, anything?! Depends what kind of player you are, what tuning you're in (scale length), although strings can negate that difference (high tension strings etc). I played metal for years with a Jazz bass with Dimarzio Humbuckers, sounded great. Its just about what you prefer really. Si
9. That's a real decent supply from the Poly-tune, you should be more than fine! Si
10. Number 7 just arrived :-/ lol Si
11. I"m not sure how the Polytune works, but with the Boss tuner, it's not what Milliamps the power supply produced to the tuner, its what the tuner can pass through. If the tuner can only power 200MA for example, and the B7K is say 150MA, its not gonna be too great sounding. If the B7K is around 250MA, it probably won't work at all. Worth checking with 3Leaf/Darkglass. Generally speaking, think of MAs as headroom, the more you have the better, anything approaching half the draw of what your supplying isn't too great. Si p.s. Also moved to effects, probably have more luck there
12. I think iTunes is in the pipeline but will be longer, do the BandCamp thing, it's real easy Si
13. It's a combination of using them a LOT, so going a bit overboard on spares (I've used an OC-2 for pretty much any musical situation in the last 5 years, sometimes two on same board).....and being a big 'vintage' Boss fan, so I have a nice little collection of a pedal I use all the time, works for me . There's not a huge difference between the 3 models (Japanese Octaver, Japanese Octave, Taiwan Octave). The Japanese ones are a tiny but warmer to my ears, but you wouldn't notice on a gig, the earlier Octaver has a slight dip in unison gain that I've grown to like. Plus the Japanese tend to hold worth better, although the Taiwan OC-2s are creeping up Si
14. I played 5's exclusively for a good 3 years or so (after starting on 4's obviously), I never had any issues, but going back to 4's after so long was a revelation, they definitly feel like home to me. I do have a great 5 still, but it is rarely used, usually for dep gigs that I've no idea what key they want songs in, so its positional as opposed to specifially wanting low notes. I have an Octave pedal that I often just kick in for low notes, more than enough, there aren't too many 5 string players (metal aside) who simply sit down on the B string. But agreed, its what you feel most comfortable and free on. I understand it when people say "well its good to be challenged, makes you think and play in different ways", but my school of thought is "If you're so at home on an instrument that you forget it's there, you're more likely to concentrate on the music" Si
15. The Jerzy Drozd guide is fantastic. Hopefully this thread has sorted itself out now, good to see, I'm also going to move this over to the 'Repairs' section, just because it may have more focused attention there. I've also 'tidied' the thread to make more relevent to the OP. Cheers Si
16. I believe that the world, post apocalypse, will be inherited by cockroaches and OC-2s, I'm simply allying myself early :-D Si
17. I've been borrowing one of these just for testing, mostly played with a Barefaced Compact, sounds great! Someone will be very happy with these at that price Si
18. Yeah, apparently a few people have gone looking for pedals (OC-2s mostly) after my talk, this pleases me Si
19. Ah Janek is winning by a margin, think he's on 13 or so?! lol Si
20. Perhaps a bit toooo specific hehe, but gives me an excuse for a picture: All are Japanese apart from the Taiwan one on the board. And no......I haven't plugged them all in together yet Si
21. ACS all the way, don't sell yourself short, I haven't looked back since getting mine 2 years ago. Si
