1.
In all honesty, I thought It'd make a good octave with the distortion/fuzz. But it's just there for some mental noises - it makes the b7k and syb go mental and glitch to hell. Still tempted to get rid of it and get something else there. It is indeed a stache! Demented fuzz! Got it blended with the distortion of the b7k, so get the nice click type sound with a wall of fuzz!
Sweet, check out the Earthquaker Devices Organizer for some cool Octave up/down sounds, you can lag the effect too, which can sound pretty mental with distortion & fuzz. Si
2.
Cabled mine up to a Trex board the other day. Pretty chuffed - just need to adjust a few cables
Great board, although not heard great sounds from those Mooer octaves, how do you find it? Is that a Stache? Get it in the Fuzzrocious porn thread in 'Effects' Si
3. Bump for possible Line 6 DL-4 & Diago Tourman? Tourman = £80 collected Any interest in the DL-4? Boxed with mains adapter and power 1-spot block adapter Si
4.
This is my (disassembled) board and bits. I make sounds like this if you're interested: https://soundcloud.c...-mapp/sets/solo
Sell me that Rainbow Machine! Si
5. Totally agreed, if you haven't got an amp that is going to fairly represent the sub that the OC-2 kicks out, you may perceive that as a volume drop. Your ears expect to hear the mids of the direct signal, so when you take that away, and perhaps miss all the lows its kicking out, it could leave you wanting. Si
6. I tried one for a very short period of time, I use an OC-2 a lot regardless of the genre and wasn't overly keen on how it affected its tone. I'd like to have a bit more time experimenting, but not in a huge rush Si
7. Yeah I run the Octave 2 full off and Octave 1 full on. The direct signal depends on the gig, standard pop/rock gigs I run it at about 3 or 4 o'clock. If something a bit more dub/synth is required, full off, mmmmmmm . If you have an older Octaver OC-2 (note the additional 'R'), they did have a small gain drop. The newer Octave OC-2 should be pretty much unity. Si
8. The Stache sounds even better when getting pushed by other stuff too. So get that Demon King feedback pushing the Stache BDPG into Stache is the one! Si
9. Yeah Rat with a 2nd od is what I'm running. Although might not work in a smaller enclosure (you'd want 2 switches). Could do a Dark Driving with a boost, have it always on but 1 switch for boost as you said. Si
10.
Latest for moi.. Need to fit a polytope somewhere I think...
Awesome board How do you find the Wonderlove? Si
11. Bump for Distortion and Flanger lovliness Si
12. Yeah the Boss PS-6 has a momentary 'whammy' esque feature. It's exactly why I got one, for a small-footprint whammy. Cheers Si
13.
I guess we're just not for these times, Si...
Is the LMII 'vintage' now? lol Si
14. Is it worth noting that all the 'named' bass players in your initial post, whilst being associated with one bass, will own numerous basses. Jaco had numerous Jazz basses as well as acoustics, 5strings etc. Sheehan has all sorts. Harris quite a few P-basses. Lemmy, not sure, but probably a bunch of Ricky's. Marcus Miller has said stick to one bass and really get to know it so it's a part of you, which clearly he's done with his Jazz.......but he still has a bunch of basses including Foderas etc. So....you know.....do what makes you happy Si
15. I'm definitly in a minority, thought the 900 was horrible, not one useable sound with a P or J through a Compact. Not a patch on my LMII or even the Tiny Terror at the time. Played with all sorts of Vol/Gain/Master combo's, EQ etc. Nothing. But yes, I'm the 1% here Si

DOD Meatbox

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the Meatbox is musical.....it's completely stupid, over the top and imperfect....but therein lies it's beauty and character . The Octamizer is of course smoother, more refined and consistent etc, but does that make it a little less interesting?.....personal preference The expense is mostly down to hype, but as with anything, also scarcity. I'm working on a clone that will hopefully come in under the price of the Mantric copy and the MB itself, the circuit is finished and built, but as with anything, the devil is in the detail. Needs more testing and finding an enclosure is tough. Fingers crossed. Si
17. Used together for two different gain settings, but currently using the Fuzzrocious Rat Tail in their place Si
18. I wouldn't base the OC-2 on the OC-3 'modeller' either. It's like forming an opinion on the old Boss DM-2 analogue delay based on the DD-7 digital 'model' of it. Si
19. Hey bud, Sorry, already have a BB Pre (two if you include the clone lol) Cheers Si
20. Someone take this off Dave's hands! Si
21. OC-2, end of Nothing like the OC-3, although depends if you want a polyphonic octaver, the OC-2 is monophonic. Si
22. More pedals added, mini-clearout time Si
23. Good price on the Meatbox! Si
24. I'm putting together a GGG green muff at the mo, probably same circuit, so will let you know Si
