DOD Meatbox

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the Meatbox is musical.....it's completely stupid, over the top and imperfect....but therein lies it's beauty and character . The Octamizer is of course smoother, more refined and consistent etc, but does that make it a little less interesting?.....personal preference The expense is mostly down to hype, but as with anything, also scarcity. I'm working on a clone that will hopefully come in under the price of the Mantric copy and the MB itself, the circuit is finished and built, but as with anything, the devil is in the detail. Needs more testing and finding an enclosure is tough. Fingers crossed. Si
2. Used together for two different gain settings, but currently using the Fuzzrocious Rat Tail in their place Si
3. I wouldn't base the OC-2 on the OC-3 'modeller' either. It's like forming an opinion on the old Boss DM-2 analogue delay based on the DD-7 digital 'model' of it. Si
4. Hey bud, Sorry, already have a BB Pre (two if you include the clone lol) Cheers Si
5. Someone take this off Dave's hands! Si
6. OC-2, end of Nothing like the OC-3, although depends if you want a polyphonic octaver, the OC-2 is monophonic. Si
7. More pedals added, mini-clearout time Si
8. Good price on the Meatbox! Si
9. I'm putting together a GGG green muff at the mo, probably same circuit, so will let you know Si
10. Never had a problem with the finish, because, shock-horror....I bought covers for them. It does amaze me the amount of people who don't cover their cabs during transit (Ant I'm staring at you! ) I do have issues with the feet ripping out, but hey, I've had the same issues with Ampeg, Ashdown etc etc. Matchstick shoved in, re-screw it Si
11. Perhaps make the jump to a US standard. I had a Squier CV Jazz for a while, and while they're great basses for the money, it certainly didn't match up to my US Jazz in tone and feel (although the finish was almost on par). Even the mexican built Road Worn series gets a lot of love Si
12. Will hopefully be along, my other half lives in Hatfield, so no excuse really lol Si
13. Dave is a good friend of mine, and an excellent player. Deal with the upmost confidence! Si
14. Yes Joes have only just taken delivery of the Fuzzrocious, first UK dealer to take the plunge, so definitely deserves kudos, he stocks a lot of interesting boutique pedals from around the world Glad people are getting involved, hopefully this will lead to more Fuzzrocious over here Si
15. Yes everyone go and buy :-D lol. The Rat Tail is such a versatile overdrive/distortion! Si
16. "What is the worst thing about music" Someone else's 'best thing'?! Si
17. I daren't add to this anymore lol Si
18. Do the whole song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DR7PEIGIyY Si
19. Love my TGD, it's like the antidote to a gated fuzz lol. If anyone is interested, you can make this sound like a crying child.......no?......anyone? Good luck Si
20. Excellent pedal, love mine. Can do everything from slow pulses to very hard & choppy Si
21. Yes huge miss for Ashdown here, difficult to know how these got signed off really. They kinda sound ok (on my iPhone?!), but they look ungigable, as mentioned, footswitch too close to knobs, in/out in opposite places....and no mains power by the looks of it?! Si
22. Bumped to add Guyatone BB-2 Si
23. The MD-2 does work great on bass, it sounds better than the ODB-3 IMO. Si
Been trying to cram it on for ages now, it's beat out the Oxide for sure but now the choice is between it and the BB preamp and the Analogman Chorus on the pt-jnr.
I had two BB Preamps going for two different gain settings. My Rat Tail with 2nd distortion mod sorts that in one pedal . I feel guilt though as the BB Pre is a great sounding pedal haha Si
