I've just started using my Terror again after about 6months of just using my MarkBass, the MB is great, but I've really enjoyed coming back to the Terror. Wonderful sounding amp, for me anyway I also changed my valves as per Happy Jacks 'How-to' thread, I'd say it was a subtle but important difference, just gives you that bit more clean head-room before any 'grind' is introduced to the sound. This is why I asked for a definition of 'Endorsement', they end up being very complicated, with the expectations on either side rarely matching up. Often this is because some people simply approach any old company for freebies, as opposed to wanting to work with the companies who's gear they already have a relationship with. Si

The trick will be in the switching, can be the making or breaking of a board like this. Si

I WANT OUR STACHES TO ARRIVE ALREADY!!!! #impatient Si

Deep Impact is EXPENSIVE, if you can find one! Markbass one sounded cool when I played one, the EHX Microsynth is a great pedal. Or go modular, Wah, Fuzz, Octave etc. Si

Sexual!! :-D How long before updated board photos? lol Si

Yes, sorry, I was a bit vague. Some effects allow you to control the amount of your clean bass signal that is mixed with the effected signal. This can work well with Dist./Overdrive/Fuzz because you sometimes lose attack and low-end. There are arguments for blending, as well as against, where people simply prefer to find a pedal that they like the sound of straight off the bat, rather than relying on having to blend in their clean sound.
[sup]im excited for MEAT[/sup]
We've decided on 1590BB enclosures, just to make progress really. Smaller might be possible, but my opinion is that it isn't worth the labour/time spent to shrink our PCB design further. Si

You're entering into a whole new world lol. The quest for the ultimate fuzz/overdriven sound is like the search for the holy grail. There's also a fairly big difference between fuzz and distortion, although some pedals do blur the line. Fuzz wise I've been having great results with m CoPilot FX Orbit, but thats quite specialist, I've got a Fuzzrocious Grey Stache on the way, but again, quite full-on. Overdrive/distortion is actually harder I think, the only pedal I've genuinely felt is perfect is my Sonic Kitchen BassBoost Preamp (made by Al Heeley on here), it's a copy/clone of the Xotic BB Preamp....so that might be a good place to start. It really is about trying as many as you can and deciding from there, it's all so dependent on your bass, amp, cabs, ear etc. Good luck Si p.s. I have a Boss Bass Overdrive for sale in the FS forum, but that's more of a blendable distortion really. Again, a good starting point perhaps.

It would be interesting to A/B them, the Boss, EHX & Joyo Si

You saying my board isn't cleverly laid out?? I've an Organizer on the way btw, will report back. I am still unsure, however, about how to spell the name. I mean obviously it's wrong (American)...but it is a noun, so should retain it's original spelling even when over here? A quandary I'm sure you'll agree. Si

That second hand Boss PH-3 is £39...!? Si
I'd be really interested if someone could do a meat box clone and incorporate a micro-thumpinator...
I suspect that might not happen, I should think Max has his Thumpinator design quite rightly safe, and I'm happy to stick with the Meatbox specific project..... it will a limited-run labour of love over a mass-produced endeavour. Buy both Si
Another is to pitch shift an octaver back up an octave, to get the analog octave tone, but at the normal playing pitch instead of an octave down. This might work with the Pitch Box before the octaver, if the warbling doesn't mess up the tracking, or after the octaver.
I don't think you'd get any kind of useable tracking from placing the pitchbox before a low octave, Octave pedals generally require a nice round/bass signal to track well. You might get some cool glitch weirdness, but I'd probably pop the pitch-box after the octaver. I've just ordered an Earthquaker Devices Organizer which essentially does this, but with the potential of two up and two down at the same time! Si
Funnily enough, I was out drinking in London with some friends last night. There was a bloke in the corner of the pub who seemed to be having a bit of trouble getting his phone connected to the wi-fi, but one he got on, he settled down a bit, only twitching and making small screaming noises every so often, and at one point seemed to sing a quick burst of "If I were a rich man, sosososo". He quietened down eventually. Other than that, it was a pretty average night at the pub. Dave started talking about missing his ex-girlfriend halfway through his fifth pint, exactly on cue, then headed off to meet some new girl after his eighth. Steve turned up just after Dave's eighth pint, when he knew it was safe to talk about how much he's enjoying Dave's ex-girlfriend. Rob attempted to chat up the barmaid with little success, again. Andy's club flyer origami sculptures are getting more obscene. One thing which stilted the atmosphere (other than the odd guy in the corner) was that it was raining, kicked up some odd smells from the canal outside for the wind to waft through the door, and there seemed to be some commotion getting a narrowboat up to the next section of the canal. Which pub was it? It was the Inn Before the Lock.
You sir, are a genius Si
Finally got my board together this week (apologies for poor quality iphone pic...) Signal chain is: Volume pedal > OC-2 > Sansamp > PH-3 > DD-6 > CS-3 > Whammy > Meat Box Tom
Now this board excites me, I wanna hear what you do with it! Si
