  2. HI all, Couple of incoming goodies, so thought I'd put this up for sale. This is my Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive pedal, no box and some little paint nicks/speckles (see picture), but good condition overal and works perfectly fine. No velcro, bottom label intact.   3. These are seriously good, analogue mentality (no scrolling menues), with some digital features (can program stacked effects etc). Great sounding effects too, as only Boss know how Great price too! Si

  5. GT-10B is VERY different from the ME-50B, the former is digital based, the latter (whilst digital) is analogue based. I have the ME-50B and find it very easy to use, I hate scrolling menues and buttons on pedals lol The Line-6 range get great reviews though, M5, M9, M13 etc Si

  7. I have a Limiter on the out of my board, which I'm considering taking off to be honest. The noise-floor to benifit ratio isn't good enough for me. I still don't see the benifit of having a delay only channel to be honest. Delay after the loops and before the amp, then just turn on and off depending on requirement. I also feel there's a LOT of EQ'ing going on, your sound on each channel will be pointlessly EQ'd as it's then further being affected by the master EQ and then the amp EQ. Much better to find pedals in each loop that you like the sound of straight off the bat Si p.s. I just voted Insane

  9. Don't get us wrong, most will agree there's no right or wrong way of doing this.......but I think there are more economical ways lol. So for example, I have two channels, clean and 'dirt'. I have one or the other on, but can mix them too, never use a 'bypassed' sound. Compressor in the dirt channel to increase harmonics to the drive pedals, delays after both channels to effect everything. Chorus/Flanger in clean channel etc etc Si

Ah Shep beat me I agree about the Comp pedals, although i'd try it at the start, before the split, certainly try it at the end, but I love the way my CS-2 affects the drive effects when it comes before them. An EQ on each channel? Is a Delay channel so in need of a seperate EQ?....with another EQ before the amp? Si
  12. So you'll have 4 switchable channels? I think there is much easier ways to execute this, I think you're double & triple'ing up on pedals where you don't need to?! What are you trying/hoping to acheive? Si

  15. I used a ME-50B for years, awesome pedal, and decent prices second hand (discontinued now). The ME-70B is the new model, although I haven't tried that. Si
  16. I think you have to be a tiny bit careful with effects in a 'traditional' setting. You listen to any old blues rock with a single guitar & bass, when the guitar solos, the bass doesn't really change much, check out John Mayer's trio album for a modern example of Pino rocking this minimalist approach. Embrace the sonic space . If you're adament you want a little bit 'more', I suggest a smidge of overdrive, something like a VT-Bass or even better a Wren & Cuff Phat Phuk... just to open up your sound a bit, get a bit of edge & grind on it. Si p.s. Our very own Al Heeley makes a great BassBoost Preamp pedal, everything from slight grind to full overdrive. I LOVE mine!
  17. My opinion on dub is that it's about the EQ of the note as opposed to the octave, it's not all low octaves, far from it. Just all super round and boosted low end. I think you'll get great results with an OC-2, Oct 1 all up, Oct 2 all down, Direct signal all down. Playing around the 7th fret position (gets a low B & low E), maybe place EQ after it, boosting around 50-60hz, or lower....30hz Si
  18. An Octave pedal does just that, plays an Octave (or 2) below, I'm not meaning to sound patronising at all here btw. If you expect to play a low E and get a clean octave lower, you're kidding yourself. If you only mean you want to play a 'mid' E (7th fret A string etc), then you're fine, produces a real nice low E octave Hope this helps in some way, the OC-2's really are great pedals, very musical effect, unlike others that may not glitch like they do, but don't quite sit in the mix as nice for me Si
  19. AHHHH, this is my old upright, I had this built Really lovely bass, I found that it's more 'double bass' than things like the NS ones, they're a bit more 'fretless'. But yeah, nice to see it Si

  22. Much the same, I love my OC-2's but they do glitch....which I love. That said I often get notes tracking lower than A, around F# etc, but thats only for quick notes, don't expect the pedal to hold the tracking that low. I've also found that it tracks a little better when the signal going in is rounder/bassier, so I often play notes higher up the neck on the E or A strings, instead of lower down the neck on the D & G strings.   23. I think though, without taking anything away from Shep at all, that someone like Juan simply has a wider exposure due to his position in Mars Volta & Racer X. Those record sales are going to speak for themselves when a manufacturer is looking at artists to help their exposure. Having said that, Juan has a huge collection of pedals, I believe the point of the site is so he can slowly go through those, as opposed to having manufacturers send him free/new stuff. Si
