1. From what I understand with the bass big muff, there are issues with the blend & volume controls being out of sync? something like that. Difficult to balance your bass sound without getting a volume boost, easily modded thought it seems. I had a standard silver Muff that sounded fine on bass, although that was with all the tone rolled off, so more bass retention, wind it up and you lose bottom end. My CoPilot FX Orbit w/blend has replaced it. Si
2. Little Monday bump Si
3. I should get in on this really shouldn't I lol Si
4. I've increasingly been thinking about all-valve stuff, but I have an issue with size and weight lol How heavy is it?? Si
5. I too thought that the slapping issue was a lot less than past year. The general volume issue was probably as good as it's going to get, I think it's damage limitation rather than actually being able to have completely silent 15mins every hour. Definitly agree that it felt 'smaller', but again, not necessarily a bad thing. Lack of gear? perhaps, but then I go to LBS to catch up with friends who I don't get to see very often due largely to clashing schedules, I think I played one bass....and that was to try out an amp for 10mins. The rest of the time was spent catching up and chatting, I had a great time Cheers Si
6. Never drink on a gig where I'm being hired to do a job. Sometimes on originals gigs i might have a couple, but I want to be in a state where I'm fully aware. I remember years ago I did a gig where I was rather pissed, recorded it, played fine, but I don't remember it at all, don't recall any enjoyment etc. What's the point in that? I play music because it gives me something, so putting myself into a state when I don't feel that enjoyment seems utterly pointless. Si
7. Even more trades added, I think I have a problem :-P Si
8. Some other trade options Cheers Si
9. Hi All, Near High Wycombe this Saturday? (10/03/12), fancy seeing my live Dubstep project 'Continuum', as well as some other great rock/ska/acoustic bands?. https://www.facebook...82291701873961/ £3 entry, bands, then DJs till late. Sponsored by Focusrite / Novation Cheers Si
10. Just a quick note to say that I'm at the London Bass Show this sunday, if anyone is interested in the pedal, I can bring it along given enough notice Cheers Si
11. Hi Tommy, That's a difficult question! I'd say they're all essential to check out, maybe just go chronologically from when Greg (singer) joined, that's when it got more melodic. So: Miss Machine - Ire Works - Option Paralysis Also check out the EP with Mike Patton, Irony Is A Dead Scene Cheers Si
12.
Bump for the fun you can have with the slicer and a good dirt box in front.
Hehe....dirt-box Bump for trade options Si
13. I use Newtone Strings, hand-wound up in Derby. They have stock models, but essentially you can have any guage & tension you want. Around same price as Roto's/Elites too. Their only downside is that they don't do flats Si
14. I had a standard Big Muff Pi on my board for a while, I actually got pretty good results with it, but I was using extreme settings that retained the bottom end. I eventually swapped it out for my CoPilot Orbit, which beats it in everyway. But the Big Muff is classic Si
15. Just rejigged my board, took off my Boss Slicer and added a couple of others. Chain is: Boss TU-2 Boss OC-2 Boss ME-50B Copilot FX Orbit Source Audio Envelope Filter w/Hot-hand Boss GE-7B Boss LM-2 Cabling needs to be better/tidied up, but it's giggable Si
16. These sound like awesome pedals based on the videos I've seen, if I'd had the opportunity to try one in a band setting beforehand, I'd probably have had this. Maybe I'll get the chance at LBS. Good luck Si
17. Cheers guys It's definitely a fun pedal, like you said, a fuzz in front of it, some delay and a looper pedal is a solo bassists dream lol. Very useable, I just have no space on my board in my current project, and I hate having great gear lying about not getting used Si
18. Bump Added trade options, but cash also talks Si
19. Bump for Slicer addition Cheers Si
20. Loopers are also a little tough to work well with a drummer, he either will need superb monitoring of your looped signal.....or be playing to a click track which is synced to your looper. Si
21. I'll be wandering around with a few peoples Definitly wanna take a look at some Darkglass, the B3K sounds great on yourtube, although wanna try it in a band setting. I'm sure there will be plenty of oppotunities to have a tea with people Si
22.
Sibob Snr
Haha, I'll have to let him know that one! Si
23.
I loaned an old Marshall Guv'nor pedal to my guitarist, who is my best mate, I know what he's like though, I should have asked for it back after a few days. I got it back about 6 months later after being left in a garage and all the pots had seized...
Hopefully we'll sort that out! Si
24. That was my thinking behind it, not too much from Liam out there apart from his blog (which is great, go read it). There was a BGM article, maybe a half page, on him about 2 years ago, and that was it, so thought I'd do my bit Cheers Si
25. I remember this being the first thing I heard by Michael: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eTBc7aWBGw&feature=player_embedded What struck me first was the beauty of the tune, the technicality of what he was doing hit me after, but it is a stunning piece of music IMO.
