1.
Sibob - I just had a listen at home. That sounds ace! I sold my OC2 thinking the octave down on my whammy was good enough, which it is for what I was using it for, but now I really want that sound back - when you have the whammy with no dry signal it's just not as cool. Are you using compression on the boss? The big muff sounds like it's set very low gain, which is why you're getting plenty of low end IMO. It's a cool sound though! A bass muff or some other dirt pedal at the end of your chain (after the silver big muff) to add some fuzz would be delicious!
I do have some compression on the ME-50b, but not a lot, I'll check the setting when I get home. Yeah the Muff is the lowest gain setting, not because if bass drop-off though, just because it's the 'tightest' sound, when my gated fuzz arrives, I'll be able to explore some higher gain tones with the same tight sound. I reckon if it's the silver or nothing, go for it and give it a try Si

    What The Fuzz?

If the Emerald Ring is modelled on a Green Ringer, isn't that an Octave UP?, is that what you're after? Si
  4.
Damn you Sibob, now I really want an OC2! Good selection of sounds you're producing there & I like the bassline, shows off the sounds well.
Cheers buddy Its just a loop of Eastern Jam by Chase & Status.....check it out, absolute tune!
Sorry to be bombarding you with questions! I'll just check out my mate's silver big muff later this week. I'll post back here with what I find.
Ok, did a little demo which I posted here (for what will be an obvious reason when you listen), and probably doesn't shed any light on the 'bass' issue, but might give you some context with regards to the setting I described above Dubstep demo Lemme know what you find with your research Si
  6. So thought I'd get a little demo of my pedal board up, did this very quickly tonight just to give an example of some of the sounds I'm using. It goes in 8 bar segments, each time layering an effect up. PLAY THROUGH DECENT SPEAKERS/HEADPHONES - With my KRK headphones the mix sounds fine, just through laptop speakers, you can barely hear the bass. 1st section: Clean 2nd: OC-2 - no direct signal 3rd: Resonance filter pedal 4th: USA Big Muff (silver guitar one) 5th: Slow Gear on low E (subtle but cool) The drums are EQ'd slightly, but the bass signal is completely dry within Logic...all sounds and tone are coming from the pedal board. So yeah, shoddy recording (especially a buzzy cable) and playing, but gives you an idea of what I'm achieving with the ME-50B, an Octave pedal and a fuzz pedal I'm hoping the Orbit will give me some extra fun options when it arrives, and I'm still playing around with some delay sounds...but they're not ready yet Cheers Si
If sustain is all the way down, surely you're not getting any actual distortion? Or does it not go all the way to clean? Most people want a big muff for some fuzz, for which you'd have to have the sustain knob at at least 11 o'clock IMO
Na doesn't go clean, I'll do a little video later if I can and you can have a listen Si
  8. I'm kinda simple with my pedals, so I'm gonna throw in a vote for the Boss ME-50B (think its the 70B now?!). Largely set out like an analogue pedal (there is a digital element for programming, but I never use it). Three pedal sections with around 10 FX per section, so you can layer three different effects at one time. Plus the expression pedal can be switched between volume, wah, resonance (my fave choice), +1/-1 Octave (whammy style), and the rather un-useable options of 'hold note' and kick drum...ignore those two I love mine anyway Si

Yes, to be fair I'm sure it does depend on what settings you're using, mine is constantly set to Level around 10 o'clock, Tone all the way up, Sustain all the way down!. I don't boost mids anywhere in my signal, only bass a bit on the ME-50, I also take off some tone and bridge pickup on the bass, but nothing drastic. Si
  10.
He uttered the words "I'm a basschat mod"
Haha, if only the world worked like that! I just ordered it straight from Adam at CoPilot FX, I was reading through his blog and I saw a picture of an Orbit with a blend that he'd built for a customer back in 2009....so I just asked for one like it! It's en route as we speak, so not arrived yet, but Adam did send me a little picture of it As you can see, the blend replaces the 'mode' switch Si
what bass and amp do you use Si? Maybe you don't have that much low end in your sound as it is? Or maybe you use a lot of compression?
I the Muff with a Fender Jazz 5 through an Orange Terror and Barefaced 15.....there's a decent amount of low end there! I use some compression from my ME-50B, but not loads at all Si
  12. These are great cases, I have two of them! Good luck Si

It's weird people are saying this, I concur that I loose some low-end with the silver muff, but it's not THAT bad and is still workable for sure. To be fair I'm going to be replacing it when my Co-Pilot FX arrives, but mainly because it's gated, but may well leave the Muff on the board for another sound. For you, is the bass muff available?, or is it Silver one or nothing? Si

    Mr. Foxen

Bit delayed, but I bought an OC-2 from Oli last week and all went brilliantly. Great pedal, great price, fast delivery etc Cheers buddy Si

I haven't tried the Russian or Bass Muff but I have a guitar one, I think it sounds great. There's obviously less tweaking available compared to the bass one and pedals specific to bass like the ODB-3, and you do loose a tiny bit of low-end, but it's more than bearable and still sounds great to my ears. Si
  16. Hi guys, Just wanna keep this quick, I don't want this to turn from a 'new job' thread into a commercial concern, so from now on, if you have any stock enquiries, please PM Bankai directly rather than on the open forum. If guitarguitar are interested in paid advertising etc, then they can contact Ped. Cheers, and congrats on the new job Si
  17. In the pics for the website, he's got a red Precision....wonder what that is Si
  18. Me and a mate should be coming along to this . Shouldn't think Oteil will be soloing much, if at all, in this group setting Si
  19. Ooo, didn't know about this....will look up ticket prices! Si
  20. Having mine with an extra 'clean blend' control, its gonna be sweeeeet Si

  23. Yeah what colour is that exactly? original finish? Si
  24. I think Singlecuts are cool, I'd have one for sure.....In fact I briefly spoke to Jon Shuker about a Singlecut jazz style bass a few months ago (albeit a bit more stylised than the mockup earlier in the thread). Don't think it will happen for a good while, but its a nice spec Si
  25. I best make the 20min journey to have a play then hadn't I lol Si
