1.
If I sold both my MMs and the status I could maybe just about afford this, Damn the wife saw me typing......
Surely she realises that 3 down to 1 is good!? Si
2. Definitely, there is a lot of people that consider the 2eq to be closer in sound to early stingrays than the 3eq. Me?....my amp EQ is all I need lol. Best preamp I've ever played has been a 2band! Si
3. I was under the impression that with active/passive basses, even when passive is selected, the battery will still run down from being plugged in?! Si
4. I wouldn't say there's any hard and fast rules about starting on 4 vs 5, there's a bit more muting technique necessary on a 5, but learning it early isn't a bad thing. Music is music, there's no difference going from 4s to 5s or vice versa in my opinion, if you have good technique and an understanding of the instrument, you'll nail it in 5 mins either way. Of course, if you don't know why u want a five string...why pay the extra money for one?, it's not really the case that it's more versatile, otherwise we'd all be playing 8 strings!. Usually it's building from the ground up, getting to know your preference, which is why most start on 4's. Buy second hand but do your research, get recommendations etc Si
5. Lol, trying to save yourself from it? Si
6. I'd do the gig for sure! I love playing live, I can find something I enjoy about a song 99% of the time in a live setting....playing live is a very different experience to just listening IMO, it transcends taste preference for me. Let's face it, biebers band would probably be full of great musicians, you'd always learn from them! Si
7. Thats the idea buddy, pay you off over time Si
8. Nothing wrong with 80's Fenders, just gotta find a good one...they're just different to their 60's/70's counterparts. Oh...I have one for sale btw Si
9. Eugh, don't dangle the carrot of possibility like that . Gonna bump it before I start hatching ridiculous financial schemes haha! (I saved a pic of it on my phone and also posted it to Facebook.....sad much?!) Si
10.
Lol. If I'd been paid correctly I'd be all over it If it's still here in 28 days though IT'S MINE!!!
I'm gonna hold you to that! Si
11.
Uncontrollable GAS. Only thing that's stopping me is cash flow. Such a beautiful bass.
Lemme know if it changes , maybe we could sort out a low-interest payment plan Tis indeed a beautiful bass Cheers Si
12. Absolutely amazing, dream bass I think One day Unless you wanna trade for an '83 Jazz........didn't think so Si
13.
Er - this is Strange....... Thanks for the warm welcome ----- I'm originally from High Wycombe, now living outside Frinton and have played a few gigs in Brightlingsea! Would you believe I was rehearsing in Arlesford on Saturday, too? M.
See, its a small world! Yus I know Alresford! I'll give you a PM when I'm next back, have a look at that Stingray lol Si
14. Welcome Whereabouts are you from?, I'm originally from Brightlingsea You own my dream Stingray, boo to you Enjoy the site Si
15. Yes, please add a fixed price ASAP please. Good luck Si
16. I have a 1983 USA Jazz for sale, but would require cash from you too....just putting it out there Si
17. Right, where are we upto? Customer unhappy that he's sold an amp that isn't UK voltage compatible....website seemingly says it is....? Si
18. Indeed, I don't know, but I would suggest the lack of input from parties on both sides suggests they may be chatting, lets hope so. Bassdirects main business seems to be new gear, as opposed to vintage instruments.....I would hope people would make their purchases based on that fact. Si
19. Meh, really not living up to the originals are they...they were super cool! Si
20. Naaa, leave it on and get it played...what's gonna happen to it?, it's already knackered lol. If you do take it off, as mentioned earlier, screw it to something, otherwise it'll shrink more....a good reason to just leave it on I think Si
21. Still on eBay, but would end it for a basschatter! Any Fender fretless Jazz/G&L part ex's around £300, try me...but all cash mooorreee than welcome lol. Lightweight amps around £300 also considered part-ex. Tea and biscuits if you wanna try it, I gig plenty if you wanna hear it in a live setting. Cool Si
22. I hate it....in an 'I love it' kinda way!! Very cool, fantastic refurb man! Si
23. Yeah I prefer his Fender sig too, that Warwick looks a bit cheap to me! And what's going on with Stu Hamms new Washburn....ugliest bass of the decade!? Just goes to show those top guys will play whatever pays the best wage! Si
