1.
Looks that way, shouldn't the pickguard have holes too for the ashtray? Its wonderful condition though
I can see holes in the pickguard. Although not sure I can see the holes carried through to the body??...having said that, they do tend to 'move' on older fenders, so wouldn't surprise me if the holes didn't align completely anymore. Tis lovely indeed! Si
2. C = 1.75 width at the nut B = 1.625 A = Jazz width (whatever that is...its late lol). Your '78 J will have an A neck But as mentioned earlier, those C necks tended to be have a more shallow depth than the B necks Si
3. I've tried a few 59's, 62's and 63's and although they have the wider neck, they all seemed much more shallow (compared to B necks), so equally comfortable after the initial adjustment to it. Si
4.
Nice one Si, great vibe to it as you say ,which band /s did you play with?? regards Keith
Band called Tin Soldier, I'm a southener, but the other guys were from Keswick/Cockermouth. Sam Hinde, Jamie Shill, Simon Thwaites if any of those names ring a bell Think we played 2 years in the row about 6 or 7 years ago Si
5. I've played the KBF a few times and was always tremendous fun, such a cool vibe about the whole event! Si
6. I was under the impression that Darwin Deez is the name of the band?! I like the Radar Detector song and that's about it Si
7. Your '72 is the maple sibling to my '71 'Sixshooter' here had an excellently refinished '59 that he was selling....I almost had it last year....beautiful bass Si
8.
Its all down to personal preference isnt it ? I love my J/P mongrel as listed below . . . . what exactly is the model of this Precision with a slim C neck . . . at the moment I wouldn't know what to look out for . . . is it a specific model ?
Oh yeah of course, I dunno what it is, I suppose for me, the sound and vibe a Precision emits, fits well with the chunkier neck.....makes me think about things differently than my Jazz, which is what I aim for when switching basses. Si
9. I had a Precision with a Jazz neck a while ago.....didn't get on with it.....something just wasn't quite right. I love my Jazz's neck, I love my Precision's neck.....but mix them and it doesn't gel with me for some reason...odd Si
10. That's cool man, cheers Enjoy it Si
11. Oh you're joking Put a wanted post up for one of these yesterday and everything... Wahhhh Si
12. Btw, I've merged the two Adam Clayton CS topics now Si

14. Clarky beat me to it And with a link that works, so I'll delete mine lol Si
15.
Is there any websites or links for this bass. I cant find any info online..
Just for reference, I remember that I asked Rob Green about a passive Jazz a while ago, and he said that it would be in the realm of £1400 Si
16. And just fitted them....all seems good, plugged in and tried. Can't wait to gig it this weekend ....will report back Si
17. There's not many bands you wanna see, and you're working on a (crazy busy) bar for 18 hours......for free....to camp in a hell-hole..... Awesome Have fun! :-D Si
18. Just ordered mine on eBay (same as jack), so looking forward to getting this done next week Si
19.
My thoughts exactly.... it's all been said on the basses so I thought I'd mention I genuinely like that rug!
Haha, thanks?! The white bits look mucky, they're not, but it's that rug material that has a different shade depending on the direction of the pile.....I have no idea what I'm talking about! I've gigged the precision 4 times since I picked it up (5th and 6th time tonight and tomorrow), and it's fantastic. Raised the action a tad and it just feels completely natural to play!. My '73 Jazz is perfect too, but there's something about the P that just completes a band . I'm sold! Si
20. I'm 2/3s clear....just gotta get the '83 Stingray from somewhere and I'm sorted! Si
21. You want a tort pickguard Si
22.
No fretless?
Maybe in the future, but no need for one at the moment....hate having gear that doesn't get used Si
23. Haha, yes Wes, great sofas....perfect for sunburst basses Si
