1. i have to say that I generally concur with Bigwan here. The reason I went for the Terror is because, after borrowing one for a few gigs, I found its 'flat' sound very similar (not exactly the same) to the Ashdown with the settings I used....again, more valve than not, mostly flat with a touch of mid. The Ashdowns generally tone is a little rounder and a bit more 'complex' sounding, but then in the Mix you don't really notice. The Orange is famously weak in the EQ section, but then the Flat sound is great to my ears, so I don't care. It is VERY loud for what it is, but having said that, the hi-gain stock tubes mean that it can run into light overdrive fairly easily (no bad thing if you like a bit of grind), but it renders the DI out useless. I, along with many others here, changed the tubes for slightly lower gain ones to give more useable clean volume.....for me though, it didn't really fix the rediculously high output on the DI. I'm not fussed about the DI issue as I'll generally use a Sansamp if I'm DI'ing. All in all, they compliment each other really well I think, if you're doing a small gig and don't wanna lug the Ashdown out, the Orange won't disappoint Si
2. I've got both, just off to work now, but I'll write a bit about them later. Si
3. Ooooof, simply amazing gig! Words can't describe! Man I hope they do a live album!! Si
4. I'm going TONIGHT...anyone else going? Si
5. It doesn't bother me too much, as soon as those sellers realise that regular contributors find it easier to sell their gear, the better lol Si
6. They don't look as cool as the old Reverend basses, they're getting pretty rare now! Si
7. Eeek, looking into tickets now Will have to be tomorrow though Si
8. Yes please post a price asap as per the rules! Cheers Si
9. Anyone going today? Si
10.
I'd forget the Taurus idea then. The answer to everything is an OC2...
+ 1,000,001 Si
11. Crazy! What coulda have caused that?? overdue for a service? Si
12. Great pedals, love mine!! Good luck Si
13. Oh I am....but u gotta have an old Stingray haven't you lol One day, for now, my 4 Fenders do me perfectly! Si
14. Sounds fantastic! Kudos My only little tiny criticism would be that the Warwick sounds a bit modern for the songs you're playing, but hey, whatever you wanna play huh Si
15. Well it seems to be an Ibanez custom shop....which depending on what you paid for it, could be a great deal....if you like Ibanez lol. I should think your best bet is to contact Ibanez and ask directly, sure they could give you some decent info. Maybe an ibanez-head will be in soon, I don't really know anything about them. You will be able to take it out of Drop C if you want, probably handy if you're learning otherwise you won't be able to play along with anything other than Pitchshifter and a handful of other metal bands (like my old one ) Congrats on the purchase Si

17.
I prefer the look of the side stack. I'd get a set of 4 cab feet from Maplins, about £3 for a set. You can screw them on or just place them where you want. I do this if I use my 210's on their ends or 1 210 with the 112.
Cheers for this Chris, I'll look into it
Not sure I get that reference re the recommendations etc? However, it is working well so far. Needs gigging though. And I will only fully recommend it after this - otherwise it goes back under Alex's policy. We shall see,
I think you'll be happy with it out gigging, gigs are where it comes into its own, and my ABMII 500 sounds great with it too! Si
18.
Question really is 2 compacts or a compactandmidget lol.
Regarding this, Alex said that a Compact & a Midget would essentially sound like a louder Compact, whereas two Compacts would give you a lot more bottom end and low frequencies Si
19. I don't really have a definitive answer for you I'm afraid, I suppose it depends what amp you're using, what band you're playing with etc. It's rated at 600watts, so is pretty poky!. I always raised it up about a foot or so for more coverage, was easily playing venues of perhaps a couple of hundred with no PA support. Si
20. New arrival bump Si
21. The trick is finding the right band innit. I gig a LOT with my covers/function band, but its great fun....everyone is a very high standard, no show is the same really. But I also take lessons, teach a little bit (great way of learning about yourself as well), and play some original shows too, not as many as I used to...I pick and choose them now. I know loads of guys who make a healthy living from being a professional musician/teacher, me?....I kinda like the seperation between my (rather serious) semi-pro hobby, and the rest of my life. Si
22. I thought the sage green MIM on here for sale a while ago looked great! Si
23. Enfield do their fully switchable system: Si
24. I would never ever judge a bass/amp/cab outside of a gig setting, everything is so different to home use, and even rehearsal use (what gigs do you do in a small 10x10 room?) Get it out and play it, tweak it, then see what you think Si
25. How would you compare the Hardwire Overdrive to the Boss ODB-3? Si
