1.
Really enjoyed that Si! Your getting a great tone out of that jazz. With the intro medly did you change any settings throughout or was it all just technique changes?
Yeah just all technique changes, we set tones for each song and just went with it. Same with Hard Days Night, the kinda fast walking part I do, no eq change, just thumbed/palm muted technique.
Nice Jazz, btw...
Yeah it's ok, might refinish it purple and install a Kahler whammy Cheers guys Si
2. Cheers buddy! I definitly think 'great fun' sums them up for me Si
3. So we decided to do some studio recordings and 'music videos' of our covers band, we've been chocka busy for the last 5 years based on word of mouth....and not much has changed, but it can't hurt to have these things to hand.....and its fun! 1) Superstition (+intro) - Definitly my fave 2) Hard Days Night - Yes it's meant to be that silly and camp 3) This Love - Bit 'serious' for my liking, but hey, I really like the recording All of the recordings are my 2003 US Jazz Standard into my Ashdown EVOII500 & Mini 4x8, Mic'd up. Superstition video is my 1973 Jazz Hard Days Night video is a friends 1979 Ric This Love video is a Highway Precision bass on long-term loan to me Cheers Si

10.
Hi Bass Bashers. As you know, I'm bringing some of Bass Gear's stock to display on Saturday. I've just found out that I'm able to bring an important addition ...and I'm looking to those attending to help out on some important product development. As you can see on this thread I'm bringing the prototype Shuker Satinline. So your part in history is sought! Cheers, Phil
Definitly looking forward to this!! Si
11. I know you mention it, but please list the prices asap otherwise we'll have to remove the thread! Cheers Si
12. Here is my singer/rapper Tim breaking his arm at our last gig! With a nice little shot of my Jazz 5 headstock to start you off 'Save an arm....catch a Tim' Si
13. Great gig in east London last night, nothing particulaly special about the gig itself, played the venue a LOT, same old gear ('73 Jazz/Orange/Ashdown). It was just one of those times when everything just clicks, great tone, felt free in my playing, the whole band was nailing it.......loved it Si
14.
Wags?
Hey it was a semi-serious question lol! My gf wanted to come, I assured her that she'd be bored silly, but thought I'd ask anyway Si
15. I was gonna post this as one of the vids of his that I really liked: Did a quick search and realised its the Four Brothers tune that was spoken about earlier......I thought it was just an improvised groove! Great though Si

17. Are there any WAGS going? Si
18. They've just sent me a landscape Compact cover too.....after I specified portrait....slightly annoying, but seeing as I haven't got the cab yet, not too big a deal lol. We'll see how they respond Si
19. Popped this over to 'Pedals for sale'...might have more views Si
20. I have for sale a '69-'73 bridge (long G intonation screw) for sale, with screws. Some small rust, but in working order. Ebay seem to always be around £180ish, so lets say [s]£130[/s] £120 Also one of the more rare maroon coloured tumbrests, no screws, Very good condition - [s]£40[/s] £35 It's difficult to see the hue of the thumbrest, but it's most definitely a maroon one! Cheers Si
21.
Whereas,I prefer instrumental music.
Exactly, tis what makes this all so interesting.....life I mean Si
22. I should probably point out that I'm only basing my opinion on the 606 gig that I saw....nothing from that gig made me want to listen further to his songs....it was just a night of technically talented music to me....maybe I'll suck it up and assume he's a grower, give it some more listens. Instrumental music has to REALLY impress me, I'm all about great vocals! Si
