Hurrow all I've been looking around at Hollowbody basses for the past couple of days, and just wanted to gauge some thoughts please. Basses that have crossed my radar (in no particular order): - Dean Stylist (discontinued and needs better pickups, but cheap) - Takamine B10 (expenssiiiive, but LUSH looking) - Lakland Hollowbody (Expensive but solid and many fans) - Gretsch (Expensive and not quite as 'Vibey' as the Takamine) - Ibanez Artcores (they mainly look like the Deans.....any better?) - Yamaha BEX (eugh) So what are peoples thoughts and experiences on the above, and where is best to check out any other weird and wonderful Hollowbody/Archtops?, things like DeArmond & EKO, even japcrap is welcome. I know ebay, but any good search-strings to try? Oh and sunburst is a preference Cheers Si

Given my experience with US Deluxes and the similarities between them and the MIM's, I'd go for a MIM Deluxe any day of the week! Si

Just skimmed the above posts, so sorry if I'm repeating, but as far as I'm aware the pickups and pre in the MIM deluxes are the same as the US deluxes. It's just the hardware that is downgraded and the MIM isn't available in Ash. So as long as you find a nice one that sounds and feels good acousticly, you won't be a million miles away from the US ones. Remember as well that the US Jazz Deluxes have slightly smaller and different shaped bodies to the MIM deluxes. The MIMs have a more traditional size and shape. I personally prefer full size Jazz shapes, not the US Deluxe shape. Si

With regards to the tuners on this one, they are a similar style to my Squier Deluxe, whether they're any better I dunno, but they look the same! Si
