Is anyone using an ‘off the shelf’ case for their PT Nano? I’m not looking for a full flight case, more like a photography style case. PT do make a case for the Metro that they cite for the Nano plus extra space…but at £130 or so, that’s more than I want to spend. Cheers Si

I’ve not done any layouts at all since Eagle died a death….sounds like there’s nothing quite like it for us small-time users! Si

Have you got a BOM handy? Will figure out what I need in the meantime! Cheers Si

To be fair, I’m in no rush….unlikely to build it any time soon. So if you’re going to redesign, I’ll wait for one of those…if that suits you of course?! Cheers ☺️ Si

First pass at redoing my second board onto a PT Nano rather than a Nano+, tighter spacing, but I wanted the smaller footprint. The trickier 3 switches in the middle of the board (Tuner/Drive/Chorus) should be much more accessible with he addition of some Barefoot Button ‘Tallboy’ switch toppers (yet to arrive, the standard Mooer ones pictured). Corona Chorus and the 66 are getting swapped out in the next month or so, watch this space. All powered with a Cioks Sol smartly fixed in place with their clamp, very neat setup that! Cheers Si

Ooo, how long will it take you to verify/build one? Si

Lakland DJ5 v Cort Elrick NJS 5 (added more questions/options!!!)
Sibob replied to Bigwan's topic in Bass Guitars
Are you considering an Elrick NJS5 or a Cort NJS5? (EDIT: Just seen that the tread title says Cort….buf if you had additional budget, read on). Over the years I’ve owned both a DJ5 and an Elrick NJS5, I’ve not played any of the Cort Elrick basses though. While I kinda would expect mostly to be suggesting the DJ5 over the Elrick (Because I’m more of a straight Passive bass fan typically, and separately, I LOVED the DJ4 I owned for a bit too), if I’m honest with myself, I would probably have to recommend the Elrick NJS5 ahead of it (not the Cort I should stress). Yes it did the bright modern thing if you needed it to, but the Bartolini pickups and pre could really warm up as well. Plus passive switch too. If it’s the Cort NJS5 you’re looking at, I can’t comment on that, and so would default to recommending the DJ5. FWIW, my old NJS5 is for sale HERE, not by me, Andy bought it off me for stock. You can hear it on this song in passive mode: Si -
Sold Sean some strings, quick payment, no messing around. Thanks very much! Si

I haven’t used this in a long while so on the block as I save for something. Based, of course, on the DG Vintage Microtubes. Cleanly built and with a custom ‘South Park Movie’ quote, acid etched, enclosure. Enclosure has adult words, hence the blurring, please PM for an uncensored photo and video. £45 + £5 UK postage Cheers Si

She’s not a Scientologist. In that it appears that she has ‘escaped’, and from what is publicly out there about Scientology, you’re either in or you’re out, there’s no grey area there. Si

Will wiring the pots in reverse work to correct it? As you say, no biggie really. Si

Yup, will have a Heliotropic PCB off you 🙂 Cheers Si

Great idea, just tried but didn't turn up anything unfortunately. It's not that the pedal is in anyway special feature-wise, but it was the first Fuzzrocious pedal I ordered from Ryan and would love to have it back. Cheers Si

I’m not sure there are any, I will try and do an A/B at some point with it and the Noble (and the Regal on the HX Stomp too). Honestly though, I never really thought many videos did the Noble justice, it’s a ‘feel’ thing in the room, so I think if I did a video, it would purely compare the three pedals, and not include a straight/‘clean’ bass tone. Si

It’s a paired down Noble basically, same circuit & tone stack, but both outputs share a tube (Noble XLR and 1/4” output have their own tubes, ie you can remove one and the other output still works), whereas the 1/4” and DI on the NP share the tube. The Noble also has some additional circuitry on the 1/4” output which reduces the impedance a little, but more treble extension on the Noble as a result. Other than that (and them being different brand tubes), they’re going for the same vibe. Obviously the other difference being the Nobles pedal power outputs. Yeah this is the second run of the Neptunium I think, and possibly the last from what I’ve heard. Few left on the website, almost tempted to get another…..maybe. The MXR is great, a solid DI pedal, lots for the money, but a semi-Noble in largely the same footprint as the MXR is a no-brainer for that board. Si

As-new Novation AFX Station. Only a relatively low number of these were made as they were a limited run, they’re essentially a Bass Station 2 with an Aphex Twin inspired aesthetic. Because of the visual redesign, it includes some additional screen-print on some of the controls that relate to the AFX firmware update released for BS2. Anyway, you can read more about the standard BS2 here: https://novationmusic.com/products/bass-station-ii Boxed with everything it came with new, barely been used at all, still had the screen protector as shown in the last photo. Pickup/meet-up in/near High Wycombe, or postage at your expense. £400 No trades. Cheers Si

Had this arrive last week. A very close approximation of a Noble (which I have on my main board) for my smaller ‘fly board’: Si

Standard on/off relay bypass ☺️ Si

It’s more that I have a pedal with a RB that needs a little tweaking by someone in the know. Si

Does anyone have any experience with programming relay bypasses? Cheets Si

So I’ll put this thread to bed, after playing about with placement, buffer & powering options, the Heaby, as good as it sounds, was still thumping when switched. It would resolve when switched a few times, discharging that DC build up it seems, but then would build up again after a few minutes, which is a non-starter for me. Put my Fuzzdog Green Russian Fuzz back on the board and its switch is always super quiet, only a very mild click when switched. So yeah, done and done 🙂 Cheers Si
-
Thanks, I’ll take a look. Si
-
Ah yeah thanks, I’d almost certainly just swap the fuzz, as the pedal in question is only on loan to me currently, so we’ll see 🙂 Cheers Si
