2. +1 for Newtones! Custom wound to WHATEVER you want (i use some High Tension ones), same price as Elites/Rotos, much better sound! Si

4. PM'd ninja Si
5. You would think, it even surprised me how little i was solicited! And all the times i was, it was my mrs haha (she was singing) Si
6. Lol, he's not with Hard Fi I think Nick Fyffe served his time in Jamiroquai very well, his playing suited their change in direction, like it or not (i preferred it). Si
7. Ok, i'll bite! New Years Eve 2007!! Although in my defence i got offered an extra £50 to wear this, I've no problem with not taking myself very seriously lol Si p.s. The top is my gf's
8. The SheBeats headline Lark In The Park tonight with The Wutars supporting I'll be going along about 6:00pm or so, they are on at 9:30, the gig starts at about 3:00pm though, music all day with Sunday Roasts being served untill 6:00pm I believe it's £6 www.myspace.com/theshebeats Si
9. I was in a bit of a funk this weekend, and not in a good way. Played ok, could have played better though, good crowds (both cover gigs), but i dunno, wasn't clicking for me. Last weekend was a lot of fun, and next weekend is all originals gigs (hurrah). But yeah, wasn't feeling it this weekend. Means more practise then usual this week, so not a bad thing Si
10. To me that means its a Bravewood body, scratchplate and neck pickup with original 1966 parts: Neck Bridge Pickup Tuners Bridge Neck plate Control plate and pots Thumbrest Pickup cover Correct me if I'm wrong You can kinda see that its a Bravewood body, I've never seen a vintage fender that has 'aged' like that Still a nice looking bass though. Good luck Si
11. oh i want that Jazz neck!! *cough*sell the parts*cough* Good luck matey! Si
12. Naaa, i didn't bother him to talk to Just a nice surprise Si
13. Man, if i buy a Bass from the UK, i try my best to pick it up in person, especially if it's expensive. If i was getting something from the US, i would ALWAYS get a hardcase with it!! Hope it works out ok! Si
14. Went to watch Chris Thile tonight at Bush Hall in London, and who should be sitting in front of me was JPJ himself. I know he's big on mandolin so there probably wasn't a better place to be tonight, Mr Thile got some chops.......and some songwriting skills.......and a voice lol. But yeah, quite random Si
15. What i find slightly odd is that Rudy Pensa and John Suhr are different people, they have of course worked together on various Pensa-Suhr guitars and basses, but the listing says "MADE BY GUEST LUTHIER JOHN PENSA SUHR" Si
16. [topic="5336"]HERE'S[/topic] the build thread! and HERE is the song, it is the last song on the player, 'When The Water Rises Up' It was a session for a friend of mine. Not bad for an Encore.......well an Encore body lol The Dimarzio sounds niiiice i think Si
17.
Wood is one of the few sustainable natural resources available to mankind.
With the exception of Cake! There is a company that makes guitars from recycled glass and such, can't remember the name though, they're english, saw them at the BMF a few years ago. There was also a pretty big article on this very subject in a Bass Player issue last year, i'll try and find the article. Si
18. The instrument is a 'Master Built' custom shop by JPS, so yes it is made from scratch i believe, much like any Luthier makes their custom instruments. Its the same age old question as to why someone would pay £6,000 for any electric bass (uprights are different ), in any case, that's pretty much what a new Fodera costs. Si
19. I've always wanted to play with Andrew Borger, that's Norah Jones' Drummer. His feel is amazing, and I love drummers who can play slow......but well! Si
20. Yup, Dan fronts Piano to, although i don't think they're doing much at the moment!. Yes Marianne does get about, in all the good ways lol Si
21. Hmmmmmm interesting <Fingers upon chin> Cheers Si
22. Is this a straight swap on a standard US Jazz, like the Badass II? How does it differ from the II? Si
23. Ah bollox, i'll remember that for next time Ped Ha, i played in Norwich not long ago and thats where Dood lives, i thought he was in Ipswich so didn't tell him. Typical! Cheers Darryll, yeah man we'll hook up at some point! Anyway, you're lucky, your hair is straight pretty much, having curly tangly hair is a bit hazardous at times, got it caught in Marianne Harris' glasses once, and many times in trees lol. Plus having it cut has done wonders for my sex life dunno why, quite unlike Sampson! Cheers guys, glad you like the vid! Si
24. Complete with a bum note from me!! lol Expert In Trickery I think the rest of the gig is on YouTube, but this was the best song sound wise for whatever reason, shocking monitoring at that gig. Hope you enjoy Si p.s. My voice sounds very odd at the start, not like me haha Was also my first FSOF gig with short hair........was very odd Gear is my Lakland 44-02D, my Ashdown ABM EVO II 500, someone else's Ampeg 810
25. If you're the Dep, all you have to say if you already have an originals gig booked on a particular date is that you can't do the covers gig, simple. If you're literally taking over, then i would heavily advise getting at least 2 guys who can dep for you if you get an originals gig through. Thats what i do, i gig 2/3 nights a week, every week of the year pretty much with my covers and when i get my originals gigs through (which are my priority) i have 3 really great deps i can rely on! Si
