I omitted my mention of chicken-neck for fear of deviation. I do get some odd movements going with me 'ol neck. Again mostly with my more chilled out gigs, with FSOF my neck generally just aches the morning after (EVEN MORE ROCK!!!!!!!! ) haha Si

I don't tap my foot to keep time, its just something that happens if i'm in a fairly relaxed stance, which isn't usually the case with FSOF (ROCK!!), moreso with my covers band lol. Also, i'm a fidgeter, i'm pretty much always moving and tapping my feet and stuff. Sometimes when i'm practicing, i'll be playing one thing, and my leg will be bouncing in a completly different time simply because its sub-concious so it doesn't affect my playing....weird! Si

If you're looking for a six-string player exclusively, i think you're narrowing your prospective field quite a lot! Good luck though! Si

Tiny little update: The headstock logo transfer arrived a few days back from a very nice man called Trey in the US. Its an S9 series Jazz Bass logo. I'll affix it as soon as i get the tuners sorted Nice Si

I've had my ABM 500 for about 4 years, and i reckon it was in the shop for at least 6months before that so not sure if its chinese or UK made. I've had ZERO problems with general functionality, like I've mentioned before, I've had to replace the VU meter bulb once and a button that fell off, thats it.......touch wood Si p.s. the gear is heavily used, 3 to 4 times a week, and completed a 26 date UK tour in May, being played every night pretty much.

The wiring would be similar to that of a Les Paul etc, a volume and tone per pickup. I personally think that a MM style humbucker is going to benefit from a preamp to get sounding real nice. If you're spending the money to rout in a new pickup, might as well get the guy to rout out the space for a preamp. The Aguilar preamps are tiny. Si

Newtone strings can hand wind you a slightly higher tension string which would mean you can have it in Drop D tuning with whatever gauge you like, and still have the same action and impact as standard tuning, although they'd feel a bit tight if you tuned back up to standard again. (do you mean just Drop D, or Drop D Standard, so DADG or DGCF?)? I use Newtones exclusively for standard tuning, and also a high tension set for Drop C standard. And the price, about the same as a set of Elites....delivered, nice Si p.s. most think that increased tension is caused by thicker gauge strings, thats true to a small degree, but the majority of tension is controlled by the core of the string. Newtone can increas the size of the core to suit your tuning, potentially allowing you to use thin gauges for low tunings if you don't want fat strings.
