  1. Yup, Ashdown customer service is genuinely excellent! Si
  2. Looks to have been filled to me. Si
  3. Refinish body and neck (including decal) Through-body mod Replacement hardware Replacement pickguard Added Jazz pickup I suppose really, if the body and neck woods are genuinely '62, depends how important that is to you....and how expensive it is. There's not a lot of the original 'vibe' left in my opinion. Si
  4. Really missing my old Lakland 55-01 today. I'm very lucky to have some incredibly basses, including another great 55-01......but I would have the original back in a flash!

@Sibob - the best you can hope for is a first refusal should he ever have a change of heart.

Uh-oh, found one on Reverb 🤭

  5. I’ll take two basses to 90% of my gigs. I’m the same in that I’m primarily a ‘passive P’ type player, but the way I see it, if something breaks on a paid gig, I want to quickly be able to turn around and grab another bass. Rarely ever happens, if ever, but no skin off my nose taking two basses. One is very much a spare, I’m not swapping between them. On rare occasions I’ll have to train to a gig or something, so I’ll take one bass, but make sure I have spare strings etc. Si
  6. Oh the HX Stomp B15 amp model 😍

I love it!  Played a gig last week with it for the first time.  I reduce the Gain to 2.0 or so for minimum breakup, I correct the lower volume then with a simple gain block after it.  Such sweet saturation!

      Its good isn't it :)

  7. Without googling, I’m not actually aware of any off-the-shelf 35” 4 strings. Might be easier to simply buy the bass you want at 34” and have Newtone or someone wind you a higher tension BEAD string set. edit: duuurrrr, obviously a Dingwall would be a perfect shout edit 2: And apparently Spector did one: https://reverb.com/item/26020459-spector-euro-4-lx-35-435-w-snc-haz-preamp Si
  8. Yeah, it's only the Scarlett Solo, 2i2 & 4i4 that are bus powered, everything up from those in the range are mains powered. Si // Focusrite
  9. Hi all, SOLD Moving soon, so thinning the herd a little (although it will likely get replaced with a Lakland shortscale 😅). - Unknown body, finished by the previous owner (a member on here). It’s a nitro finish, with a couple of slightly pale sections (ie it’s not perfect, see pics), but it’s pretty good and should age nicely. Likely Alder, but unsure. - Guitar Northwest rosewood P neck, B width I believe. Nice neck which I’ve added a 60’s Precision decal to. A couple of light sprays of lacquer, so could be built up further, or removed. - Hipshot licensed tuners. First ones fitted to the neck, so no extra holes. - Fralin pickup, very nice vintage P vibes - Comes with a spare tort guard. - Currently strung with La Bella black nylons. Put together and setup by a professional luthier near me in Hemel, plays really nicely. Cash, but would add cash for a Lakland Hollowbody 30 in black. Weight is just under 8.5lbs. 10. I figure that, in the same way that the Waza DM2 fits in with their DDx offerings, a Waza OC2 will bring back some of the potential 'vintage' OC2 revenue from people who need less in a pedal than the OC5, and have a penchant for the OC2 name. We'll see Si
  11. I had an OC-5 on loan from Boss to try it, found it very impressive from a 'copping an OC-2 sound' point of view, WAY better than the OC-3, which was terrible. However, there was just way more on it than I want/need, it's definitely aimed at the acoustic/guitar market over the bass market in my opinion.....which is odd given it's heritage. I get it from a commercial point of view, but still. I'll wait for a Waza OC-2, and use my originals until then Si
  12. SOLD Hi all, This came in a bass that I've now swapped the original pickup back into. Not too much to say really, all the details on the pickup are here: https://www.emgpickups.com/bass/gzr-p.html I think there are a couple of washers missing for the pots, and I looking at their website a piece from the harness kit photo too (although that piece isn't mentioned in the instructions at all, so not sure what that is). Essentially this came out of a passive bass working perfectly well, so that's what you'll get. The pickup screws aren't included, so you'd need those, although presumably they'll come from the bass you're swapping it into. Also the ground wire solderless connector has a snipped ground-wire, so you could replace the connector of course, or sack it off altogether and just solder the ground wire to the input jack directly. As such, works perfectly well, not quite in same state as a new one, and so: SOLD Pics this evening Cheers Si

  14. I come back to it every few weeks.....but currently a little rich (not that it's overpriced at all) for what I'd want it for (fretless conversion). But yeah! Lovely bass! Si
  15. Depends how you look at it. All Lakland US models are 'custom orders', but depends whether they built it directly for a customer, or perhaps a dealer. I think nowadays they tend to just ship out their reduced-options 'Classic' US models to dealers, perhaps with the odd "Ltd colour' or whatever, but I imagine the full US customs make their way to dealers too. Nothing fancy, but after the DOD 250 rehouse/mod project (see above), I had a spare DOD enclosure. No faffing, just dropped a Fuzz Dog 250 kit straight in. Good as new haha. Si
  17. I’ve wanted another Lakland Precision since I sold my last US 44-64 (I was’t keen on the sunburst), when this got listed, I was instantly into the Black/Black/Maple rock vibe. As such, this will be wearing La Bella RX Steels when I get round to changing them. It currently has an EMG Geezer Butler pickup in it, however I’ll be putting the original Lakland p’up back in as I really liked it on my previous 44-64. This joins my US 44-94 custom, 55-01 & Skyline DJ5 in my current stable.
  18. Looks lovely. The master builds are a step up, I wouldn’t lump them in with ‘custom shop’, as my perception is that’s the team-built stuff. Pretty sure MB are into the £4k+ brackets, so decent find if you like it. Si
  19. Bought a Lakland 44-64 today from Ben. Super smooth and delightful meet for the part-ex/purchase. Good bass chats, and our first 'bench deal' haha. Cheers Si
  20. Lakland 44-64 in the house :D. Will do a post soon

      Congratulations!

  21. Double-edged sword though, yeah would upset tracking, but then having the OC2 first means that the fuzz is going to compress all the sub out from it, assuming that they’re used together. So really just depends on ones usage. Si
  22. Dave is great to deal with too. I’ve played this bass and it’s lovely!! Si
