1. Like some other members, i go to great lengths to keep my strings bright, PA's and Rooms always deaden your sound. Make sure my hands are clean before i play, rub down my strings after each gig/set......... Just don't do any of that! :-D Si
2. I'm not sure about this double thumbing, its kinda cool as a solo device i guess, but in the context of a band, its kinda pointless, just makes the drums sound to busy! I'm not a fan of Bill Dickens! The start of that video isn't, IMHO, music. And his 'practice regime' kinda highlights that, "you can't hear any notes but you're strengthening your hands", i dunno just isn't for me. Marcus Miller on the other hand, quality! Like was mentioned above, tasteful with a real sense of melody! Si
3. I've had my EVO II ABM 500 for 4 years now and it hasn't let me down once!!! The worst problems I've had are the mute button falling off, (Ashdown sent me a loada spares FOC), and recently the VU meter bulb went (again Ashdown sent me two replacement bulbs FOC), not bad for 3 - 4 gigs a week!! Si
4. Good call!!! :-D Si
5. Yeah they do http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/shop/products.php...ge=8&next=1 Si

7. A very good guitarist friend of mine is playing with a band called 'Bunny' at the festival.......i got no details lol. But if you see posters/adverts for it, go along, great guitarist, and really good songs!! Si
8. Yeah i'm just really confused now as to whats for sale!! Si
9. Mine is straight from Fender, i was working for a music shop at the time so managed to blag it for free. For some reason Fender spares/accessories are over the top expensive, i ordered the '62 Tort scratchplate and on the invoice it said something like £45. But yeah....free lol I had to shave it a tiny bit to fit around the control plate, my bass obviously not being a '62, apart from that its perfect. Si
10. The Bass Gallery in Camden did a de-fret on a 5 string i had a few years ago for £50 with maple slip fret lines. Not sure what they're prices are now, check their website, but you shouldn't pay anything more then that i reckon. If you want an unlined fretless fingerboard then you would have to have a replacement fingerboard built, i had a quote from a luthier of £250 for a new fingerboard, but that was fretted, so unlined fretless would probly be less. Having said that, i guess you could just get the Luthier to put the same wood fret lines as the fingerboard and the lines would be less obvious. Si
11. Well, just remember...Equal Rights! :-D haha i jest of course! or do i?? yeah i do.!!!!!!!! ..... but do i really?? DUH DUH DUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH Si
12. Heres an action pic of the Tort s'plate Looks much nicer then the white plate, IMO white only looks good when its aged and 'vintage', so basically not white haha Would look cool with a black s'plate to i reckon! Si
13. I can't recommend the USA Standards with S1 enough, mine is fantastic and a lot of people seem to be loving them at the moment! You can pick them up second hand for under £600 easily!!! Strangely i've never tried a Lakland but look forward to giving OBBM's a go at the SouthEast BassBash Cool Si p.s. and yeah, warwickhunt's Re-Issue is particually sexy!!
14. Fantastic Jazz, basically the same as mine but i added a tort s'plate. Wouldn't swap it for anything at the moment . Fender seem to have hit the mark with that particular line! Just got a Jazz Deluxe, but already i'm thinking that one of these Standards with a J-retro would whip its ass! Good call! Si
15. I might possibly be interested in the J-retro if you go ahead with the splitting! It would be pending any answers/opinions in my thread [topic="3657"]HERE[/topic] Cheers dude Si
16. Beautiful bass! Lemme know if you fancy a '99 Jazz Deluxe in trade 3 band EQ and everything lol Good luck! Si
17. Really nice example!!! I've been keeping my eyes open for any '83 fenders, just because its by birth year thats all haha Si
18. I kinda like them, probably sound nicer with the rounds on i wager! I never got on with the thin as [uncle buck] neck! I like Jazz necks, but the Hofners take the biscuit! :-D Si
19. The Rob Allen stuff looks great, i know it was in the list on the previous page http://www.roballenguitars.com/info_mouse.html I play a Fender Bronco, but strung as a Piccolo bass, its 30" scale but doesn't feel that odd, i guess because i'm playing it in a different mind-set to a Bass Guitar perhaps. In the same way my EUB at 36" doesn't feel that odd, its such a different instrument that it doesn't really compute. Good Luck Si
20. Nope, we couldn't sound less Irish if we tried! :-D The drummers parents are Irish, but he was born here, thats about as far as the connection goes! Si
21. So where are the parts from?? Si
22. What gets me is that in the 'Cupids Chokehold' single, the guy singing the chorus isn't even in GCH, its the singer from Fallout Boy lol So they're first single is a cover with another singer, difficult to follow methinks, but we'll see! Si
23. Tell your Stepdad that Jazz's can be just as cheap as Precisions The Vintage Modified series does look impressive for low bunce! A precision isn't gonna give u a Timmy C or Flea sound........a Jazz will! Seeing as they both use them Si
24. Let me know if you fancy just selling the neck lol Si
25. The white 4 string jazz plate is now SOLD, cheers Pete, glad my Avatar helped lol Tortoiseshell 5 string still available! Its a 10 hole scratchplate, no screw holes for finger-rests/ashtrays etc, i guess because no Fender 5 strings have these. Its still in its original (but wrongly labeled) packaging which for some reason says '62 Jazz' on it, i guess thats why i have it spare, it didn't fit my 4 string that i bought it for in the first place Anyway, 'Hit me up and ting' Si
