  1. Hi all, No need for this in current climate. Fully working, boxed with mains supply, good condition. I've even made some decent presets on there for you haha. £55 + £5 postage or collection from Hemel Hempstead/High Wycombe Pictures when I'm with it on Sunday, for now, here's a stock image. Cheers Si
  2. I am currently mid-abstinence. When my Lakland DJ5 arrived in Sept, I told myself I wouldn't buy anything (other than consumables, per original rules haha) for 6 months. And so, with best intentions, I'm looking to make no purchases until start of April 2021. Although that depends if I can find a cheap HX Stomp First bass after this round of self-induced hell will likely be a Lakland HB-30....in black. Yes please. Si
  3. Really easy deal selling a Jazz neck to Nicco. Thanks bud 😊 Si
  4. La Bella RX Nickels are my preferred nickels.......well.....La Bella's are my preferred strings full-stop haha. Si
  5. SOLD I have some fitted but un-played La Bella Super Steps (their exposed core roundwounds) for sale. They are cut for a 2+3 headstock (my Elrick), but literally went on and came off again when I realized the B string was too short (on account of the Elrick being 35” AND having a zero fret. I anticipate they’d also fit a 3+2 headstock too. SOLD Si
  6. I added one lol L-R: Camel Journey, 1971 Precision, Moollon P-Classic, bitsa P Si
  7. I'd like to get hold of the Lakland Hollowbody 30 (their shortscale Skyline) in the new Black colour. I'd also like a Serek 5 string, but that's looking unlikely haha. Si
  8. SOLD Hi all, This came from a project Precision bass that I then swapped the neck on (I wanted a Precision neck). Excellent maple neck with rosewood fingerboard that has Schaller tuners fitted by the previous owner. The headstock face does have a home-made decal applied by the previous owner, however that would be quick and easy to remove I believe. SOLD Cheers Si
  9. Eeeep, my 'lockdown parts bass' is coming back from setup on Sunday :D
    Much excite

I know what it is, I just wondered why you quoted my particular post when asking the question lol Si
  11. I wonder whether this whole exchange might be better suited to its own thread, this is about the Boss OC-5 really. Si
  12. This would be interesting to look into, using your chippendales example, I'd perhaps suggest that they wouldn't need to specify 'male' because it's simply known that they are an all male troupe. Not sure about acting, I wonder (without any kind of googling) whether it might be a case of simply stating "we are looking for an actor to play a female character" etc. Si
  13. Without knowing whether an LLP is required to follow the same employment laws as larger companies, Citizens Advice Bureau states: It is illegal for an employer to discriminate against you because of your sex. This includes all employers, no matter how few people they employ. Most workers, including employees, agency workers, trainees and those who are self-employed have protection from sex discrimination at work. This includes: recruitment and selection promotion training, pay and benefits redundancy and dismissal terms and conditions of work That said, countless bands advertise for gender-specific members, but they well be 'private' concerns with regards to employment. Don't know. Why? Would you feel the same if a different male singer turned up? Si
  14. So are you looking for opinions then? Or validation that the agents telling the only thing they'll accept is the 'right' thing? Because it seems that the former probably isn't going to sway you?! Si
  15. I actually really like the OC-5's analogue side for the Octave Up. The digital side octave down and up is very Sub-n-up/Pog'y, whereas the Analogue side octave down really cops the OC-2 vibe (as above), and I think the octave up is thicker, a tiny bit of fuzz on the top end (standard, can't be heard in a mix anyway), so not super clean, but definitely not tinny. Si
  16. I spoke to Tom yesterday, all is fine and well, just that life in lockdown very much got in the way (difficult with a one-person company). He’s currently working on starting up again soon though, so watch this space! Si
  17. Sorry, completely forgot to post this super quick comparison: Old OC-2 Octaver & OC-5. I’ll do another with a newer OC-2 as, while the circuit never changed (they all sound the same), they did fix the volume drop issue, which certainly causes some psycho-acoustic “louder is better” vibes Headphones needed!!: Si
  18. For a while I maintained an OC-2 serial database, which was pretty interesting. I must admit to being slack on it the last couple of years: https://simonpoulton.tumblr.com/post/58729436850/boss-oc-2-serial-number-database But @iamtheelvy currently owns the oldest I‘ve seen, with my May ‘82 the next oldest. I’m putting together a modded DOD 250 for a friend, got all the relevant parts and kits etc, but what do you think to the following signal path? The output boost/volume is purely to give a global volume control. Anything I’m missing? There’s no real reason why you’d have the Pre-gain boost after the blend is there? Cheers Si
