  1. It wouldn’t be a great deal of work with a soldering iron to swap the footswitches over, guessing someone would use ‘ON/OFF’ more than ‘Program Change’. Although you would of course need to change the screen print too. Si
  2. Ok.....I’m done with my utterly perfect board (needs to be as i’m Not buying anything this year 😂): True bypass looper -> COG Mini 66 -> Wazacraft tuner -> MXR BEF -> OC2 -> MXR Bass Chorus -> true bypass looper -> Noble Si
  3. The Drum n Bass community got together a few years ago and raised a bunch of money to donate to the original drummer....which is cool seeing. Si
  4. You forgot your family and the worlds children 😂 Si
  5. When I asked about global parallel processing (Ie a ‘blend’ for everything) they were like ‘oh that’s a good idea’.....so who knows, you may even get a firmware update sometime Si
  6. Trades are not allowed, it’s still gear acquisition Si
  7. I agree with the first two, but with the greatest of respect, I’ve never known anyone worth their salt take a line from an acoustic pickup when a decent mic setup is available. Not even ‘for an option’. If there are no mice available, it’s still a poor substitute, however good you think your pickup is. Si
  8. 1) It’s really common for manufacturers to not send out schematics for current products when they have an official service centre. 2) It’s really common for product photos to be photoshopped in some way. The marketing process for anything is a long road and product photography often happens before some final design tweaks are made. I’ll see if I can grab some time with the MB basses at NAMM and report back! Si
  9. Loving the LPJ.....but yeah, would have been great in TV Yellow! Si
  10. Silly. I’m passionate about music, how it sounds doesn’t really matter, if I like the song, I like the song. Si
  11. My iPod has Disney next to Dillinger Escape Plan....I think that probably says it all Si
  12. I wonder if it's a fault. I have OC-2s from early 80's all the way to 2000's and never had any issues running any of them off single Boss adapter, larger board power (daisy chains etc) or battery. I'll triple check my oldest OC-2 tonight with a Boss PSA for you. I did have an old VB-2 (Vibrato) that was perfectly fine on battery and board power, but wouldn't work properly on a modern Boss adapter. Will come back to this later. Si
  13. 10 days and counting for the Lakland in customs 🙄

Oh god, I can’t wait to meet the same fate once my Wingbass is finished...

What’s the percentage they charge these days?

@CameronJ I ended up paying around 25% on top of the final balance (which included shipping) 😣.

More than I expected this time, however still cheaper than me getting it in the UK

  14. I would say that purchasing a DIY kit does count, but building something from existing parts in your stash doesn't haha Si
  15. To be fair, we all know that NAMM stands for 'Not Available, Maybe May'......so if you can hold of a few months, should be doable, and the stuff will be cheaper in 2020....probably. Si
  16. Now hang on......I never said never ;). Is anyone actually still in for this year? Or has everyone dropped like flies? 🤣 Si
  17. I’m still on zero spend....but my Lakland is in customs and my Noble gets picked up in LA a week on Thursday.....so as I said, January isn’t really a challenge currently lol. Actually, it’s been quite a relief to not think about gear! Been cracking on with recording for Jocee’s new EP, with the Mustang....but might redo it with the new Lakkie. Si
  18. I have a Jive fretless in Gold and it’s really very good. Excellent finish, nice neck, Omega (badass copy) bridge. Can be heard on this track: Si
  19. Fodera (and many others) charge that amount because lots and lots of people are happy to pay it....because they see the worth. It’s really as simple as that. Si

    best value DAW

Quite honestly, I don’t think Ableton is for you, you would be paying more money for a huge amount of features that you won’t need. As said, whilst it’s more than capable as acting as a ‘normal’ DAW, it’s very much geared towards one-shot (sample) based music, loops, electronic music and live use. As mentioned, you’d likely is it in Session view, which in itself is a little odd at first as it’s the mirror of other DAWs. If you’re a Mac user, GarageBand is free, Cubase LE has a free 30 day trial, as does Ableton Live Lite. Reaper is free indefinitely with pop-ups reminding you to purchase a license (unless that’s changed recently), because it’s good to support what you use. So there’s no need to make a commitment before you’ve tried most of them IMO Si
  21. Decent deal! This is the 44-64 Skyline with the Jazz neck too, so a lot of people’s preference! Si
  22. Possibly because you have a limited idea as to what talent is. Go and create a YouTube channel, when you have even just 10,000 followers, i’ll show you someone who is talented at assessing what their audience wants, then creating good and consisting content to sustain that. Whether that talent is important to you doesn't matter, they're earning a living doing something you can’t. Si
