Hey guys, Looking to sell my old saxophone. It's a Yamaha YAS-275. I bought it new about 6 years ago but have since upgraded. Technical info from Yamaha is here. It's a great playing sax, it's been well used but very well maintained (regular services etc). There's a couple of obvious scratches (which I've tried to picture as best I can) and a few smaller scratches in the lacquer; nothing major. A few years ago, the G# key got bent out of shape and was repaired by All Brass and Woodwind in Leeds, they did a very good job, I've photographed the repair. I'll include a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece with ligature and cap. I've cleaned (and disinfected) the mouthpiece so it's clean and is in pretty good condition, there's no chips but the usual teeth marks. I'll also throw in a Neotech neck strap, some cork grease and 3 different types of reeds for you to try. It comes in a good quality hard case which is in good condition again, other than the Vandoren sticker I put on it. A few pictures: Repair: First scratch (this is only in the lacquer): Second scratch inside the bell (this one's a bit deeper from when I got a bit too close to a microphone ): Case: Mouthpiece and ligature: Everything together: I paid £800 for this 6 years ago so I'm not sure what sort of price is reasonable. Shall we say a rough price of £350? That's not a firm price at all, feel free to make me an offer of what you think is reasonable, I'm sure we can work something out. Ideally, I need this gone within the next 3 weeks as there's things I need to pay for. PM me if you want more pictures or if you have any questions. You can either collect it from me in Wakefield (or Leeds during the week) or I can post it at your expense. Thanks AJ

Hey guys, SOLD This one's in great condition. There's no Velcro on it, but I don't have the original box, sorry. Way Huge Fat Sandwich It's a fantastic sounding pedal that's really versatile and very tweakable (there's 3 controls internally in addition to the 5 on the outside). The cheapest new price I can find is £140 so I'd let it go for £95 (ono) posted within the UK. Please PM me if you want more pictures or if you have any questions. Feel free to make me an offer, I won't be offended as I need this one gone! The only trades I would be interested in are for: Ernie Ball VP Jr. Devi Ever Aenima Korg Pitchblack Some kind of Tonebender clone Thanks, AJ

Hey guys, Thinking of trading my Seek Wah II. It's in mint, like new condition with the original box/papers/rag thingymawotsit. Rubber feet still on, no velcro. It's dated November 2006, painted and signed by Jason Myrold. I'd say it's trade value is around £200. I don't have anything particular in mind, so PM me some offers (no Boss, Digitech, DOD etc, you get the idea). Trades +/- cash are okay if someone comes up with something I want enough . Multiple pedal trades are fine as well (I can come up with something at this end if needs be). I can ship anywhere in the world as well. This is a great little pedal, very inspiring. I might let this thread die if I change my mind about this one. PM me with any questions/offer etc. I can get more detailed pictures if you're seriously interested. Thanks, AJ

Depends on the weight. Stick it on some scales and have a look here: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content...mp;catId=400036 I've paid anything from £6 to £20.
nice - how's the seekwah for bass working out? i've never used one, but always fancied trying, sounds interesting.
I really like it, I mainly use it to add rhythmic ideas. Alot of people would probably complain about low end loss but for what I use it for, it's great.
frankly speaking unless you are Doug Wimbish, or Stuart Hamm, if you play in a band doing covers or playing a particular style you'll find you'll hardly use effects. We are not guitarists after all we don't need any of that w@nking stuff
I think you're in the wrong forum . This is the effects forum... Anyway, some people do find that they use effects alot (I know I do). Just because people use effects doesn't mean that it's for fretboard showmanship (or w@nkery as you so delicately put it )
I've gone through a lot of effects pedals and ended up selling them all back because to me they just add unwanted noise to the otherwise beautiful natural sound of a bass going through a decent amp.
If you spend time perfecting your set-up, you can use effects without adding any noise or changing your tone when the effects are bypassed. But, as you said that was to you, I think the tolerance of tone-suck/added noise is all very subjective to individual users. Not many bass effects users are tone purists (as far as I know).
When you play in a band your singer and your drummer need to rely on your fundamental backbone, not your echo, chorus flairs, or wah wah sweeps, no Sir.
I half agree with this. I personally think there's 2 types of effects users: Those who use effects to shape and develop lines (this one's the category I fall into). Those who use effects to create lines. Although I agree about the other band members relying on the fundamental backbone I think the backbone they need is rhythmic and harmonic, to me it doesn't matter how it's presented (whether it has echo, chorus or wah) as long as those two fundamentals are there. That's all just my opinion of course and everyone will different preferences when it comes to effects usage. I respect your opinion and definitely understand where you're coming from but I think this thread could benefit from having views from both sides .
