I really want to try one of these (and/or a compact) with my GB Shuttle, are there any owners in t' North?
-
I'd be keen on checking this out with my GB Shuttle 3.0 to see how it sounds with my DB. I'm in Wakefield but can collect from the Leeds area if it's ever around there. Maybe I can go in the gap between tonybassplayer and wateroftyne? I can meet in Leeds easily... musicman20 cleethorpes casapete hull finbar sheffield sean.robinson rotherham monz barnsley hubrad bradford rik (esa) bradford tonybassplayer bradford gnasher1993 wakefield wateroftyne newcastle delberhot camelon lemmywinks blackpool umcoo lancaster josh3184 preston guyl manchester bassbunny manchester bass culture chester protium chester mike 257 wirral steve soar wirral Beerdragon Wrexham Any objections?

To be honest, I personally think it's a one trick pedal. However, that may be a trick you're looking for. What do you want to get from it? A fatter sound? Dub tones? I have to say, it sounds great on guitar! It's good for sharpening your attack, but certainly not slowing it down (but you can do that with the controls on your bass). A few things to think about: it's fairly noisy, the resale value isn't great and there's a risk you'll get bored with it's one 'trick'.

Check out the Hal Leonard playalong series, or the Jamey Aebersold books. The backing tracks are really good quality. Send me a quick PM with your email address and I'll send you an example if you want.

Ok, so I've ended up with two pedals that do kind of the same thing (though not quite)... Now open to trades! I've got an Electronix Submarine and a Fulltone Fatboost v1. They both sound awesome but they're too similar for me to keep them both (need moneys still ), you decide which one goes . Once I'd absorbed shipping charges and customs charges they came to around £90 each, so that's what I'd like back from either of them. PRICE DROP - £85 each Once one of them has sold, I'll withdraw the other (unless I get a mad offer for the other one ). The Submarine is in great condition with the rubber feet still on. The Fatboost looks like new. It's in fantastic condition, with the the original box, manual, fulltone sticker...it even has the $179 label still on the box!. It's probably worth more than £90 but nevermind...grab yourself a bargain ! PM me if you're interested. In terms of payment, cheque is definitely preferred! Cheers guys, AJ
Hey. Nice to meet you all. I'm a newbie to the forum. I don't know about the uni to study at...I went to LCM but they all have different good points. However...LCM has a great set of bass teachers. Zoltan Dekany is incredible and studied himself with Charlie Haden and Jeff Berlin. They also have Gary Jackson and Dave Kane who are both wicked. Although...I hear at Birmingham you get some lessons with Dave Holland and RAM have Steve Watts who is one of my favourites.
I thought Zoltan had gone back down South now? Perhaps not...

Pharaoh Echo Jr. This is a great delay pedal that gives really natural, quite dark sounding repeats. It can give you up to 400ms of 'analogue style' repeats. I don't want to have to sell it but I could really do with the cash. It's in great condition, with the rubber feet still on the bottom. The manual is here if you want to check out the features (this pedal's more about the quality of sound than the number of features). Soundclips (not mine) can be found here, here and here. I had this one shipped imported from the US so ideally, I'd like to get back what I paid...£95 posted. EHX Bass Blogger I got this one from a trade. It sounds awesome but I've got dirt covered so it's probably not going to be used. Comes with original box and papers etc. It's in great condition with the rubber feet still on. TRADED EHX Russian Big Muff Pi (dead) Ok, to cut a long story short...it doesn't work. It powers up but the sound doesn't get through it. It's probably an easy fix, I'll do it at some point. In the meantime, you can have a go at fixing it if you throw some cash my way. It comes with the original box. It's been modded to take a 9v power supply and it's got a nice green LED . WITHDRAWN DOD Ice Box This is the nicest chorus I've ever heard! But...I need money. I'd keep it if I could. It's in great condition, comes with the original box. Not really sure how much this one's worth...£35 posted anyone? Boss PS-5 This is a great pedal (I prefer it to the Whammys) but again, I'm not using it and I need moneys more than harmonisation . I got a new octave pedal this morning and I'm not sure the PS-5 is something I can afford to hold on to. It's in pretty good condition - a few paint chips but that's usual for Boss pedals. Comes with the original box. I'd like to get £75 posted. SOLD As for trades, I'm sorry but I really can't go for any trades unless there's at least £50 coming my way. I really need to offload these quickly so...PM me and treat yourself . I'll accept reasonable offers on these but no low-ballers please . I may withdraw some of these once I'm sorted for cash. Cheques are preferred please but we can work out Paypal if needs must. Cheers, AJ
I use something which I doubt many others do. You would have to fish around eBay to find one though but I doubt it would cost you much! DOD Ice Box Stereo Chorus (FX64). It was made for guitar but worked a million times better on the bass. Cost me £40 new about 6 years ago. Still works perfect and sounds stunning!!!!
Agreed. I love mine . It's one of the only choruses I've tried that doesn't sound 'cheesy'. Obviously, that would be the cheap option. If you've got alot to spend, check out the Analogman chorus, the Red Witch Empress and the Diamond Halo.

Look for a buffered mixer. Have a look at the wounded paw one. He does custom work so will probably do you a 3 channel if you won't use the extra channel.
