What a tasty Precision. Beautiful!
-
Very nice indeed. The relicing is quite superb!

That is quite uncanny. That is very nearly what I have ordered except I have gone for the very light relic with a candy apple red finish. Great minds think alike!

This thread is not helping with my waiting period! 😀

P Bass Gas - Vintage - re issue - custom shop
Hutton replied to deepbass5's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely. You can never be too careful. I once bought a bass from a well-known purveyor of vintage instruments only to find that the neck and body didn’t begin life together. -
Ah. Now it makes sense. Thankyou.👍

What is B&B?

I have for sale my Fender USA Standard Precision from 1984. The Bass is all-original apart from a sprague orange drop capacitor being fitted. The original capacitor is included. The bass is almost unmarked apart from a very small mark in the lacquer on the top horn which I have tried to photograph next to a one pence coin. This mark has been on the bass since I got it about 8 years ago and has not got any worse. The condition is superb considering this is a 34 year old bass. The bass will come in a non-original Fender G&G Deluxe Brown Tolex Case. The bass is currently strung with Thomastik Flatwounds. I had to think twice about putting this bass up for sale as I have grown rather fond of it but I have one too many precisions so a choice had to be made. The asking price of £1200 includes delivery to the UK. I am not looking to trade. It is sale only I’m afraid.

I've just ordered one. The wait begins!

I am about to join the Limelight fraternity. I have just ordered a ‘57’ Precision in candy apple red with gold anodised pickguard. The waiting now begins.😎

I’m not judging. I would just rather not be subject to the same sort of experiences which have been expressed here. I can now perfectly understand why sellers want a collection in person only. I would not want someone selling me a bass to be put in an awkward position with a courier. By buying from a shop I would have some sort of comeback without having an awkward situation with a fellow bass chatter. The good thing about this forum is that through the experience of the members one can learn the best way forward.

You must be kidding after the horror stories on this thread. Private deals are definitely not a good way to go if couriers are involved.
-
You're absolutely right. I'll stick to buying from the shops.

Just for the record to state an opposite experience. I have never had any problems with parcel force or any other couriers. I once had a bass delivered two days late and was given a full explanation why. Maybe it is only the bad experiences that get written about.
