1. I have for sale a Cort A4 Custom SP. This bass is in mint unmarked condition. The A4 Artisan Custom SP is the very best that Cort has to offer. The spalted maple top and back are beautiful. It is a pleasant addition to have the spalted maple on the back as well as the front as exotic woods are often on the top only. The Bartolini MK4 pups and MK1 preamp along with the Hipshot Transtone Bridge and Tuners are top quality components. The neck thru design is also a feature of much more expensive instruments. The neck itself is a joy to play with a large variety of tones to match. The bass is fitted with matching Schaller strap lock buttons and the originals are included in the sale. The bass also comes with a Cort hardcase.

I am asking £575 including delivery to the UK which is a huge saving on the new price. I am not looking for any trades.

But Hutton, Gretna Green is in Scotland - point them down there and family finances stay intact

    Lovely looking bass - GLWTS

Good point Andy. The only problem is that I'm officiating.😇 My son is marrying a great girl from Rwanda. We met her family this year in Africa and they are coming over for the wedding next month. As for the 'Nate Mendel' - it is a cracking bass. I think you need it in your flock!👍 If I don't sell it then I won't mind at all. It'll just mean the wedding band won't get hired!😃

Is this bass still currently in Glasgow?

The Nate Mendel model I tried was at Glasgow Guitar Guitar a few years ago and it was amazing and I regret not buying it. (Paul who works there was a great person to deal with and talk Bass with.) I'm guessing that this isn't that one though as I'm sure they've sold a few since then.

I live in Aberdeen and was down in Glasgow in May this year when I tried out the bass. I didn't intend to buy a bass that day but when I played this bass it blew me away. The serial number shows it to be a 2015 instrument so I suppose it is possible it could be the bass you tried. I have a family wedding coming up which needs some major finance so some of my basses have to go. My loss will be somebody's gain.

  4. I have for sale a months old all original Fender 'Nate Mendel' Precision Bass. I bought this bass new from GuitarGuitar in Glasgow in May of this year. There is plenty of information online and on youtube regarding these basses. They have been very favourably received as being one of the best to come out of the Mexican factory. The road worn look is just about right in my opinion. This is a great bass and will make someone very happy.

The weight of the bass is 8lbs/3.6kgs. The bass will be supplied with the Fender Gig Bag which has not been used. I even have the Fender box that it came in! If a hardcase is preferred then I can supply one of the latest Fender Moulded cases (Red Handle Version) for £60 which is offered at a daft price if a potential customer is interested. The bass has been kept in the hardcase since new. All tags, manuals, and allen keys are included in the sale. The alternative 'FF' neck plate is also included.

I am asking £650 plus shipping for the bass. This represents a substantial saving on the new price. Considering this bass is practically new and has never out of the house then a bargain awaits someone. I am not looking for any trades.

    Specification:-

    Body: Ash

    Finish: Nitrocellulose Lacquer

Neck: Maple. Rosewood fingerboard (Radius 7.25"). Slim "C" profile (based on Nate Mendel's '71' precision). 34" Scale. 20 Medium Jumbo Frets. Synthetic Bone Nut (Width 1.615")

Pickup: Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pounder

Bridge: Fender HiMass with Chrome-Plated Zinc Saddles

Tuners: Fender 70s Vintage-Style stamped open gear.

    Pickguard: 3-ply black.

The following photographs were taken in direct sunlight and in the shade to give an idea of colour variation. There is also a photo taken inside with the bass in the case and with flash. The colour is Candy Apple Red.

Can't seem to find this anywhere else... can you tell me the nut width and string spacing at the bridge please. Thank you :)
Happy to oblige. Nut width is 38mm and from the middle of the E to the middle of the G at the bridge saddles is 57mm.

Bass chatters... I`ve had in My life: LTD ESP Fretless, Vintage Jazz Fretless, GMR Fretless and now have as above and tell You what - amazing bass for this price(!), just the neck and tuners is worth 300 quid IMO...

I wish Cort do passive version with 3 not 55......mean 5 knobs... ;)

BTW I think its rather 3.5kg, check Your scale bro.
They are great basses and certainly fantastic value for money. As to the weight, remember different basses weigh different amounts. I weighed twice using my trusty luggage scales which have never let me down. I'll split the difference with you and say 3kgs but even at 3.5kgs it ain't heavy. Put it this way, it's a light bass which you can wear all night!

  7. I am selling my 2015 Cort B4 Fretless Bass. The bass is in excellent condition. The only mark is below the EQ knobs (see picture). The mark is hardly noticeable but I include it in the pictures for the sake of transparency. Apart from this very small mark the bass is spotless. There is very light marking on the fingerboard underneath where the 'E' string has rubbed against the board. This is very light and to be entirely expected on a fretless. Cort basses play and sound way beyond their price range and the B4 Fretless is no exception. The bass comes with a months old fitted Cort hardcase. The bass and case have never been out of the house and never gigged. The bass is fitted with black Schaller strap buttons although the originals will be included in the sale. The strings currently fitted are Fender black tape wounds which I have found complement this bass rather well.

I am asking £300 including delivery to the UK. I feel this is a fair price taking into consideration the condition of the bass (only 2 years old) and the fact that it comes with a Cort hardcase. There is a big saving to be made here on the new price with case. I am not looking for any trades.

I don't normally go for custom builds, but in my humble opinion, this is utterly spectacular !
Well done on a beautiful job.

    GLWTS !
Thanks for your kind comments. Like yourself I don't normally go for custom jobs. However, Dave Wilson has built this Jazz to a very high standard. In my opinion it just doesn't come under the 'bitsa' category. I'm nearly talking myself out of the sale but needs must.

  9. I am reluctantly selling my Jazz bass. This one is a bit special having been assembled and refinished by the excellent Dave Wilson. The original owner wanted a Jazz in the style of a 70s instrument and also to replicate one of Adam Claytons stage basses. The instrument was built with a "cost no object" remit. The specification is as follows:-

Fender Japanese 62 Jazz Body refinished in a stunning aged gold by Dave Wilson.

The neck is a new Japanese Fender maple block and black neck but with precision width. The 70s logo was applied by Dave Wilson. There is a 'tongue in cheek' Fender Custom Shop decal on the rear of the headstock although the quality of this instrument would certainly not be out of place in the Fender custom shop. The nut width using my digital calliper is 1.640".

Pickups are Nordstrand NJ4SE / NJ4SV which are simply marvellous. Dual coils and absolutely silent.

Tuners are Fender in the 70s style.

    Bridge is brand new Fender.

Internals are all CTS / Switchcraft.

    Schaller strap buttons are fitted.

    Weight is 8lbs

The bass comes with a Warwick 'snakeskin' hardcase with Fender logo applied.

This is a very nice bass in unmarked condition and the asking price is well below the cost of the original build.

I am asking £650 including delivery to the UK. Sorry, but I am not looking for trades.
