    I am reluctantly selling my Jazz bass. This one is a bit special having been assembled and refinished by the excellent Dave Wilson. The original owner wanted a Jazz in the style of a 70s instrument and also to replicate one of Adam Claytons stage basses. The instrument was built with a "cost no object" remit. The specification is as follows:- Fender Japanese 62 Jazz Body refinished in a stunning aged gold by Dave Wilson. The neck is a new Japanese Fender maple block and black neck but with precision width. The 70s logo was applied by Dave Wilson. There is a 'tongue in cheek' Fender Custom Shop decal on the rear of the headstock although the quality of this instrument would certainly not be out of place in the Fender custom shop. The nut width using my digital calliper is 1.640". Pickups are Nordstrand NJ4SE / NJ4SV which are simply marvellous. Dual coils and absolutely silent. Tuners are Fender in the 70s style. Bridge is brand new Fender. Internals are all CTS / Switchcraft. Schaller strap buttons are fitted. Weight is 8lbs The bass comes with a Warwick 'snakeskin' hardcase with Fender logo applied. This is a very nice bass in unmarked condition and the asking price is well below the cost of the original build. I am asking £650 including delivery to the UK.     I am very reluctantly having to sell my 'Custom' Jazz. The bass was assembled and refinished by luthier Dave Wilson. The work Dave has done is to a very standard. The original owner of the bass had it built to replicate one of Adam Clayton's stage basses. The build was done with cost being no object and the bass certainly reflects that. The precision neck was used as the original owner wished a wider neck than the normal Jazz offering. The spec is as follows:- Fender Japanese '62' reissue Jazz Body refinished in beautiful aged gold by Dave Wilson. Pictures don't do this finish justice. The neck was brand new at the time of the build (2014 I think) and is a Japanese Fender maple block and black bound neck with precision width. The 70s Jazz logo was applied by Dave Wilson at the time of the build. There is also a Fender Custom shop logo applied to the back of the headstock. This is not a Fender Custom Shop instrument although the quality of the work is certainly worthy of that title. The bass is in unmarked condition. Pickups are Nordstrand NJ4SE/NJ4SV which are a superb pairing. Dual coils and absolutely silent. Tuners are Fender Bridge is Fender USA vintage. Internals are all CTS / Switchcraft The bass is set up very nicely and plays like a dream. The weight of the bass is 8lbs A Warwick 'snakeskin' Rockcase with Fender logo will be included in the sale. Price is £700 including p&p to the UK. I am not looking for trades.     What kind of condition is the tuner in? Scratches, dents? Fully functioning? Is the mains lead included? What postage would be added to post to Aberdeen? Thanks.

    I know how you feel about truss rod covers. I bought a bass that didn't have the truss rod cover. The cover was only available from the manufacturer. One of the dealers for the make of the bass (The Great British Bass Lounge) were superb and got me the right cover even though I had bought the bass on here. They didn't even charge me! All this hassle because someone couldn't be bothered putting the cover back on.

    I have seen a review of the new Corts at the NAAM show. I think it was on YouTube or from the Cort site itself. I have two Corts and they are cracking basses for the money.

    I have a Cort B4 Artisan unlined Fretless. It has an ash body, Bartolini pickups and preamp as well as Hipshot tuners. All this for £400. For the money it is a great bass, especially if you can pick up a used one, and well worth a look.
