1. Judging by all the pros out there it seems that Fender is top of the tree.
2. Neepheid, you're needed here!
3. As they say round these parts - no pics, no bass. So here she is in all her glory. She also sounds as good as she looks.
4. Ok my friends I have pulled the trigger on a Cort A4 SP Custom. When she arrives I'll put up pics.
5. Thanks once again for all the very helpful comments. I find myself drawn to these basses for some reason but as I live in a city where the music shops have no imagination it is unlikely that I will get to try one out before buying so all comments here are much appreciated. Also, particular thanks to Tonteee for the offer of a lend. In how many forums would you find that kind of camaraderie?
6. Just sold a 62 Precision Reissue to Gareth. It was a pleasant and friendly transaction with no hassles. Many thanks Gareth.
7. I have just sold a bass. From the ad appearing in 'basses for sale' till the new owner took delivery was 51 hours. Not bad for a sale that involved a courier taking the bass from Aberdeen to Bristol. Can anyone beat that for a bass being sold from time of advertising to delivery by courier?
8. Many thanks for all these replies they have been most helpful.
9. Is this the bass for sale in Angeldust Guitars?
10. Many thanks Howie!
11. I'm looking for opinions on Cort Artisan series basses. Are they any good? Build quality? Playability? Sounds? etc.
12. I have for sale my immaculate Fender USA 62 Reissue Precision Bass from 2003. This bass has had a very easy life and is therefore almost like new. The only tiny mark on the bass is on the upper bout (pictured) and measures 5mm in length. The paint is unbroken but I mention the mark for honesty and transparency sake. Any other marks from the pics are bits of fluff from the case or reflections. I have included two sets of pics, one in the sunlight and one inside so that the colour of the bass can be appreciated. Please note that this is a 62 reissue and not a later 63. The chrome covers have never been fitted and are included in the unopened case candy. The bass therefore has no drilled hole marks where the covers would be. The only unoriginal parts are the Schaller strap buttons. These can be removed and the originals fitted. In any case the originals will be included in the sale. The bass is currently strung with Thomastik TI Flatwounds. The original case is also included in the sale. There are scuff marks on the corners of the case although these are very much surface scuffs. This is a light bass and measures a smidgeon over 8lbs on my luggage scales. 13. A truly superb looking Stingray. I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks. It would be marvellous if the dog was part of the deal. Who could refuse these eyes?
14. That is a very nice Precision Nick. I hope you find your rosewood board.
15. Your camera is taking a very long time to recharge.
16.
Damn! And I need one of them sweaters too ...
That's a different Arran Jack! That one's spelt Aran.
17. I owned a Custom Shop Masterbuilt Bass for a short time before I moved it on. I was so disappointed in the instrument and I am a Fender fan. Don't get me wrong it was a nice bass but in my opinion the quality of workmanship was no better than the excellent American Standard offering. However, there is a significant difference in price between the two. The CS bass just didn't do it for me. I have come to the conclusion that the Custom Shop is over-hyped. The only advantage I can see is getting a bass the exact way you want it. However, in saying that I have just purchased a Jazz Bass which has been put together by a guitar builder in this country from Fender parts. The quality is superb and all at a fraction of the cost of a CS instrument. If I was wanting another bass built to my spec I certainly won't be paying CS prices.
18. I am quite frankly amazed that this bass is still here at this price. If I didn't already have three precisions I would be adding this one to my arsenal. Surely, people aren't waiting for further price reductions. There comes a point where it's just unfair to expect a bass of this quality and condition to cost any less. If this bass was being offered by a guitar store it would cost a good bit more.
19. Tubes now successfully replaced. In case anyone wants to know what the bowels of a Walkabout Scout amp look like then feast your eyes thus:-
20. Imagine spending £250 on a set of strings and then finding that one breaks when you restring because they are so old. Or even worse, you make make a mistake cutting them to length and find they are too short. What a load of bollocks!
