  1. When you say your location is North East is that England or Scotland?
  2. I’m afraid they do cases or not. 😂
  3. For those of you who like cases I have a question. Why do the guitarists get all the cool colours for their Fenders. They get denim, navy blue, red, surf green, wavy checkerboard, and pink. We get pink - that's it just pink. I have a surf green American original 60s precision. How cool would it be to have a surf green case to match. So why do the guitarists get all the colours and we don't. It's time to petition Fender for an answer to this question and to chain ourselves to the railing until we get satisfaction.
  4. 2004 Fender American Standard Jazz bass with S1 switch.

  5. Great replies for which I am very grateful. This has to be the best forum on the internet. No question is ever treated as irrelevant and no member is made to feel stupid. I love this community.
  6. Thanks man!👍
  7. I have just purchased a Jazz bass which is strung with 50-105 gauge strings. I want to fit my preferred strings (TI flats) which are 43 - 100. Is it going to be likely that I will need a new nut?
  8. Aw, that’s too bad. My wife and I live in Aberdeen but we’re travelling south for a family get together this coming Friday. Have a great time gigging in Scotland.
  9. Where are you playing up here?

  11. Here’s my USA Lākland case containing my 2016 44-64
  12. You make a very good point my friend.👍
  13. I am getting a bass delivered to me today. It is a 2004 American Jazz with polyurethane finish. I have read conflicting viewpoints as to the necessity of not opening the box for 24 hours after delivery to let the bass acclimatise to the temperature change. I believe it is more relevant not to unbox if the finish is nitrocellulose but not so vital if the finish is polyurethane. Any thoughts on this folks?
  14. I would normally say black but the reverse headstock seems to need cream.
  15. I have been a member since the Bassworld days before we became Basschat. In all these years I have only experienced good advice, helpful and informed answers to queries, useful tips, great buying and selling, and good humoured banter amongst the community which is an important part of my daily living. Thank you everybody and long may we reign!
  16. I was thinking about subscribing to the new Bass Review Magazine. I had looked at the website at the weekend and was sure that the subscription for a paper copy delivered to your door was £5.99. When I went back to the website today I notice the price is £6.99. My ageing memory may be failing me but I wondered if anyone else can throw light on the pricing.
  17. The answer was on the screen right in front of me. It was about serial numbers. Please be gentle with me I am an OAP.🤣
  18. I made a mistake in posting an enquiry for which I knew the answer, I just didn't know I knew the answer. Where's that whisky?
  19. I am wanting to source a pickguard for a jazz bass. The fender colour is parchment. I am finding guards described as white and cream and am wondering if cream is parchment as opposed to white. Can anyone throw some light on this. Thanks.
  20. A beautiful versatile bass at an excellent price.
  21. Do you have the truss rod cover as it appears to be missing on one of the pics.
  22. Are the wear marks through playing or relicing?
  23. Well, I did become an old age pensioner this week.🤣
  24. Mine too. I’ve been waiting for a while for one to be available. Very pleased to have got this rather nice example.
  25. Just picked me up this rather nice 2006 Butterscotch Precision.
