1. Jimmy Moon is the only guy to go to IMHO. I live in Aberdeen and go back to Glasgow for anything I need done.
2. Lovely bass. It looks awfully white for Butterscotch though.

I like the white look. Save your pennies.
4. I recently sold a Musicman SUB to Andrew and what a very pleasant transaction it was. Mutual respect shown at all times and excellent communications throughout. I would be most happy to do business with Andrew in the future.
5. Here's the headstock from the 83 Precision that I used to own. Also, precisions and jazzes from 82 - 85 had three screw bridges. I have to say that my 84 precision has its original pups and they sound anything but weak. I also don't understand the comments about soft neck edges. The 82 - 85 USA Standard precisions and jazzes are excellent instruments. They were being built during the renaissance at Fender when good quality was being restored to the Fullerton factory. The standard basses were being built alongside the reissues by the same people with the same attention to quality and detail. Give me an 82 - 85 Fender over a late 70s job any day.
6.
Thanks for the replies everyone! Uhh, I look at the For Sale page on here almost every day. I never said I'm getting the bass shipped over here from America, I would be picking it up myself because I spent fair bit of time over there...
Fair enough! You can then assess the bass for yourself. Good luck whatever you decide to do.
7. For sale is a brand new unopened set of Fender Roundwound Medium Light Nickel-Plated Steel Strings. They are long scale Medium Light (7250ML) .045 - .100 £12 includes delivery in the UK.
8. Why not look through the basses for sale on this forum before paying £300 for a bass from the USA which is an unknown quantity in so many ways. All you have are a couple of photos. There could be so many issues with that bass that just aren't known before you get it in your hands. There could also be good reason why there is not much detail attached to the ad. Are you also prepared to pay the shipping costs from the states and then whatever duty is applied by customs on a bass that has question marks over it.
9.
Cheers mate, thanks for the kind words !! Id like to see pics of the 84, just out of interest and being a total gearhead !!! Sounds great !!
Happy to oblige!
10. These are great basses. I have an 84 precision. Much prefer it to anything from the late 70s. This is a nice bass at a superb price.
11. My 2004 USA precision is butterscotch. Hope this helps.
12. I have for sale an all-original Fender 'Noel Redding' signature Jazz Bass. This bass is one of a limited edition run of 1,000 of which mine is number 0878. The bass was 'Crafted in Japan' in 1997 and is modelled on Noel Redding's 1965 Jazz. The bass is in good overall condition. There are small dings on the lower edge near the jack socket and on the rear at the back edge which I have tried to show in the pics. There are also minor marks on the edge of the headstock which are really too small too mention but I do so for the sake of transparency. The chrome work is starting to tarnish with the bridge being the furthest on in this respect. The chrome however in very good condition for a 15 year old bass. The bass is currently strung with Thomastik TI Flats which have years left in them. Schaller strap buttons are currently fitted to the bass although the originals can be fitted depending on the preference of a potential buyer. Noel Redding personally signed all 1,000 pickguards. The signature and date of '97' is on the lower horn of the guard. The problem was that these signatures have now worn off. On this particular bass the signature can still be seen by holding the bass flat in good light and looking across the pickguard. A decal of Noel Redding's signature is also on the headstock. The bass plays and sounds just as a Jazz should. The neck is particularly fine and very playable which seems to be acknowledged on these Noel Redding basses. The bass has been kept in a good black tolex case which is included in the sale. The white marks on the pics are reflections of the flash on the camera. I would be interested in a trade for a MUSICMAN STINGRAY UNLINED FRETLESS. The price of £850 includes shipping in the UK.
13. Deal with confidence people. Andrew is a thoroughly nice chap!
14. The SUB is now sold. Thanks for all the interest folks.
15.
IMHO these sound better than the real stingrays. I prefer the neck on them too. That's just me though.... Have a free bump and GLWTS
I agree with you entirely Black Coffee and thanks for the good wishes. I'm really looking for a sale drewk. Thanks for the offer though.
