  5. I have for sale a brand new, never been worn, genuine Comfort Strapp for sale. The tag is still attached to the strap. This is the extra long version which adjusts at both ends and is 42" - 54". The measurement is taken from the innermost set of holes. The Pro Bass Series Strapps consists of a wider design through the shoulder area, providing added support for the typically heavier bass instrument. I am asking £25.00 which includes postage to the UK.
  6. I was once told that anything over 25 years old is vintage. I reckon that my Ibanez at 42 years old could fairly be described as vintage.
  7. Many thanks for your post. I’m not in any way an expert in Wizard pickups. I was told it was a Thumper. I haven’t heard about a Wizard Trad. That would also explain the white lettering on the pickup which is partially hidden. I’ll make the necessary corrections.👍
  8. There is a ‘Privacy’ tag appearing on the left side of my screen which despite clicking on and accepting recommended cookies it is still there. How can I get rid of it please?
  9. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using the Song Surgeon software.
  10. I have for sale a Wizard Trad P-Bass Pickup. This is an original pickup from the days when Andy Blake was designing and hand winding the Wizard pickups. The pickup even comes with its original box.
  11. My 1981 Ibanez RS840BK Fretless. The body was in a poor state so it has been refinished with relicing to match the neck and tuners which are all original. The truss rod cover was missing and the knobs were incorrect. A replica truss rod and correct knobs were obtained from the USA. The original pickups and bridge were also present. The electrics were completely bizarre and so had to be completely renewed. The result is a very nice vintage Ibanez which sounds marvellous.
  12. Just for laughs. Have you ever been to a gig that didn't live up to your expectation? Was the live performance distant from your well-loved Vinyl/Cassette/CD? C'mon folks! And a very happy new year to you all. May 2023 bring you good things!
  13. My first bass was a USA SUB. It was a great bass and superb value. Unfortunately it ended up suffering from a twisted neck and although it got sorted by a local luthier it never felt quite the same after that.
  14. I have been around for a while (65 years) and so am old enough to remember instruments back through the decades. It frankly amazes me what some folk will pay for an old bass these days. Even if you are a collector this example of a jazz before us is just not worth any money. If the player was someone rather famous then perhaps one of their basses would command a price higher than market value. However, have you ever seen a bass in as dreadful a condition as this being put up for sale for this kind of money. I'm afraid Mr. Richardson is not a big enough name to add on a ridiculous amount. Plus, he never looked after the instrument. By caring for your instrument it will still look reasonably fine with a bit of wear here and there. I think of the ES175 guitar owned by Steve Howe of YES. That guitar has seen many thousands of hours of gigging, rehearsing and practice but it still looks good because the man looked after it. I weep for the guitar/bass market if anyone is stupid enough to spend 9K on this Jazz.
  15. I would heartily endorse the praise for Alex of Barefaced cabs. I would also like to put out a shout for Hercules stands. I had a problem with one of my stands and they sent me a new one free of charge.
  16. My rig - a pair of Barefaced 2X10s topped off with a Fender Rumble 800
  17. It is indeed Si. I’m chuffed to bits with it.
  18. Thanks Chris. I wanted to check this before I bought a set.
  19. I am told that it is extremely difficult to fit a Dunlop straplock to a thick leather bass strap like the offering from Fender. Has anyone got any experience of this?
  20. Just took delivery of this rather splendid USA Lakland 44-64. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my Fender AVRI precisions.
  21. I’m also on the east coast but it’s North East in Aberdeen. If you’re up my way at all give me a shout.
  22. Welcome Auctioneer. Whereabouts in Scotland are you based?
