1.
Although I'm unsure what 'vistuosity' is.
I think it means 'awfy good'.
2.
Sounds like the solo on Voices Inside/everything is everything from the album Donny Hathaway Live. Great solo.
That's the one. Thanks RR.
3. I suppose it is a bit comforting to know that others have had the same problems. The annoying thing in my case is that Yodel wouldn't or couldn't tell me either the phone number or location of their Inverness depot so that I could make enquiries locally. Unfortunately this is not an isolated example of the gross inefficiencies crippling British industry.
4. My nomination for a master on the good ol' P bass would be Willie Weeks. I heard him soloing on a Donny Hathaway album ( somebody here may be able to produce details) and was absolutely blown away. This was virtuosity at its finest! Every time I hear Willie playing with whoever it is I'm always hugely impressed. Another nomination would have to be Pino Palladino. His vistuosity is not in doubt.
5. After having just bought the fretless version of this bass I can honestly say that this is a fantastic price especially as it comes with a C&G case. All the best with the sale!
6. I am currently having a hassle with Yodel over their non-delivery of a bass to me. The seller is doing all he can to sort this out. Yodel are hopeless. They don't seem to care a jot when complaints are made. This is not the first time they have let me down badly. They have also let others down. To see my post of woe go to the link below. It is currently the last post:- http://basschat.co.u...60#entry1659485
7. Let me add to Yodel woes. They were meant to deliver an expensive lens to me. However, not only did they deliver to the wrong house but after finding no-one in (surprise, surprise) they dumped it over the garden wall and left it lying in the rain. When I complained they couldn't have cared less. Fast forward to yesterday - it's now the second full day that I have waited in for Yodel to deliver a bass. At 4pm I go to tracking to find the message that "the consignee could not be contacted". They have my phone number, they have my address, what more do they need? Bearing in mind this delivery had already been postponed as they couldn't pick up the parcel when they said they would. The seller is trying his best to get things sorted out as Yodel won't deal with me as the contract is with the seller. After reading the above story I'm now starting to get a bit nervous. I can only await word from the seller as to what is happening. So, Yodel's inefficiency and methods are not confned to one part of the country. I know some folk on here don't like parcelforce. I, however have to honestly say that I have used them many, many times and have not ever had any problems. In one case they even delivered a bass the next day depsite it being a 48 hour service. I just want to finish by saying: DON'T USE YODEL!!!!!

We're back...

Many thanks to Ben and everyone else who worked into the wee sma' hours to sort this out. It's just as well as I was getting withdrawal symptoms. My hands were beginning to shake, breaking out in cold seats. I'm now back on an even keel. The world makes sense once more!
9. Just sold a bass to Dave. A top bloke to deal with. Don't worry, be happy!
10. The Corvette is now sold. Thanks to all who showed interest.
11. Thanks for that confirmation mart. Always good to have an expert on tap!
12. I'm trying to find out a ballpark figure for shipping a bass to Belgium. If anyone has experience of this could you let me know how much it cost. Thanks in advance!
13. Fair enough Karl. It's just that I have been hit by couriers for living where I do which is not in the Scottish Highlands and Islands but one hour away from one of the UK's busiest cities in the commercial sense. When I use parcelforce I am charged just over £20 to send a bass. I know feelings can run high regarding parcelforce but I have to say they haven't let me down - yet!
14. This is very sad news indeed. He was a legend in his own lifetime.
15. Scottish Highlands and Islands shouldn't cost any more if you use parcelforce.
16. As I have just purchased Old Horse Murphy's Fretless Precision I am putting my Corvette Standard Fretless up for sale. This bass is in very good condition as you can see from the photographs. The bass is a German made Corvette Standard Fretless with the active/passive EQ. Here's the details from the Warwick website:- Serial Number: M 121049 05 Date: 09/02/2006 Corvette Standard Ocean Blue Oil Finish Swamp Ash Body Ovangkol Neck The website doesn't say what the fingerboard is made of but I'm certain that it is ebony. There is some very slight 'worming' high up on the fingerboard which I inherited when I got the bass. It is hardly noticeable, and does not effect the playability of the bass, but I feel I should mention this for the sake of transparency. There are also three very small scuff marks which are very much on the surface. The Bass is fitted with schaller straplock buttons. I will also include the original Warwick straplock buttons although I do not have the Warwick strap part of the locks. The bass will be shipped in a serviceable (but not very attractive) hard case. I am looking for £350 which inlcudes p&p to the UK.
17. The Streamer is now sold. Thanks to all who showed interest.
18.
Looks killer !
I agree. Sounds killer too. See the first post for added pics of the case which comes with the bass.
19.
Wow, Hutton, very shocked to see this. That was until I read what you are after which is exactly what I am after also I am considering a Fender Tony Franklin in black as fretless Precisions are very hard to find and this is the only one Fender seem to be making at the moment. I could never part with my LX4 and is just sounds and plays so good which makes it difficult and I may have to part with my Streamer Jazzman fretless Good luck with the search and let me know if you find one.
Yeah I'm surprised myself. I have got into fretless playing and as I'm really a Precision guy a decision had to be made. The LX4 is a cracking bass but it's the last one in so it's got to be the first one out. I do have the Corvette fretless which is great but a Precision would be right up my street. I have also looked at the Tony Franklin and it does seem to be the way to go. All I need is for someone to take the LX4 off my hands.
20. I have for sale a 2009 Warwick Streamer LX4. I have only had the bass for a couple of weeks but I know that it is not for me. The bass is in unmarked condition and is really like new. It has also been waxed regularly since new. The body is a beautiful flamed and spalted maple which Warwick thought nice enough to feature in their own website in the gallery pictures of Streamer LX4s. It has just had a pro setup and is therefore nicely playable. I will ship the bass in a new crocodile skin hardcase which in turn will be packed in a cardboard container. Details are as follows:- Warwick Streamer LX4 21st April 09 Flamed Maple AAA body Natural Oil Finish Ovangkol Neck Chrome Hardware I am looking for £850 (inc. shipping). I know it's a long shot but if anyone has a Fender USA Unlined Fretless Precision then I would be interested to talk about a possible trade. I have been asked to include pics of the case. So here it is:-
21. I found out what a redeemer circuit is, it sounds like a worthwhile upgrade. Just need to know if you would consider trades.
