1. Could you explain what a Redeemer circuit is. Also, is this sale only or would you consider trades.
2. I'm reading it at the moment. Good book and at this price you're making a big saving.
3. No problem James. The bass is well worth considering if you're interested.
4.
Hi, I know this is an old topic, though... This bass seems to be on sale on ebay at the moment. It has the same nick just below the input jack. I'm guessing its not the original owner as the person selling it is living in Oldham Greater Manchester. Does any one know the sale history? If it is the same bass, the current owner must have had it just a couple of months... Cheers, James
If you look elsewhere on the for sale forum you will see that the current owner is trying to trade the DJ4. I traded the bass with the current owner who also has the bass available on ebay. There is nothing unusual about that. There is also nothing unusual that the current owner has only had the bass a few months. If you don't mind me saying this is a rather strange way to introduce yourself to basschat. Why do you feel it necessary to point all this out by resurrecting this old thread? Old for sale threads often confuse the matter and are better left in the archives.
5. Sorry the DJ4 didn't work out for you. However, if a bass isn't getting played then it's only sensible to move it on. I just want to say that the DJ4 is a cracker and Muzz is a good guy to deal with.
6. I suppose people are just being cautious after the 'Awesome' P Bass thread by the same seller.
7.
Can you give an idea of what value you are placing on the Lakland as it will help those who are considering trade options.
At the risk of repeating myself........
8. Can you give an idea of what value you are placing on the Lakland as it will help those who are considering trade options.
9. Musicmany, Upside downy, big bridgey kind of thingy. Nah.
10. Has the bass been sold. I'm not seeing anything on the link. Chandlers only appear to have two Fender basses for sale neither of which is an 83 Jazz.
11. I wonder if we should have a forum where approximate values can be discussed. It would perhaps help potential sellers to realistically value their instruments and thus avoid threads like this one. It just seems to me that immaculate basses going for 50% of their original value is not a good thing when you are selling in hard economic times. I'm sure that others will have different opinions. I am honestly not trying to hijack this thread and wish the seller of this beautiful looking Streamer all the very best in the sale.
12. So sorry to hear that you're having to sell the ACG Mark. I well remember when you got the bass and how pleased you were with it. I was simply amazed by it and admired you for being able to play it! I can certainly vouch for the outstanding quality of this unique bass and also for the fact that Mark is a thorough gent and all round good guy.
13. I think it's a shame that the SUB (Sports Utility Bass) name has been used for these instruments. They may be Ok but the original SUBs were USA made instruments and not a cheap line. I prefered my SUB to my Ray. The Ray has gone the SUB remains. Also, some one can shoot me down in flames here if my memory is going with my age, but I seem to recall some years ago on the EBMM forum, before any cheaper lines came out, that Sterling Ball took great pride that EBMM instruments were only made in the USA and that he wouldn't consider going down the route of others by having instruments with the Musicman label being made overseas. The harsh economic realities seem to have influenced even the great, not to be argued with, Sterling Ball.
14. Why don't you wait until you have real GAS for something. If you had real GAS you wouldn't be on here asking. However, if it was my money I would buy the USA Jazz that is currently sitting in the 'for sale' section for £500.
15.
Meaning, 'I can't be bothered to put the work in and would like to make it easy for myself.'
Yes, yes, and absolutely YES! I'm just about to leave for a band rehearsal, so tonight I might just suggest learning the keys instead of moaning. I go with the power of Basschat!!
16. I'm fed up hearing "I can't play in that key can we do it in a key that everyone can play"
17.
and why does he arrive at gigs after every thing has been dragged in??
Because he's a sh*t.
18.
p.s. pedant alert - "which strings"
Sorry. Now sorted.
19.
I put a set of TI's on it myself when I first got it, Hutton and they sounded great. Try playing just off the neck pup, too and eq'ing to taste on the pre-amp'.
That's good to know Ian. I think I'm so used to the TI's, and like them a lot, that I want to see what they're like on the Streamer. I reckon I'm just not used to the Elixirs but am more than happy to give them a chance. Thanks also for your advice Chrismuzz. I've often heard that Flats sound great on a MM. Mind you as Davo says perhaps I should keep one with rounds.
20. The subject of string choice has been meandering round my mind so I thought I would commit it to a topic and see what happens. I tend to really like TI flatwounds. I have them on my precisions and have put them on my newly acquired Warwick Corvette Fretless. A Warwick Streamer LX recently came my way with Elixirs on it which I am finding very 'zingy'. Now, is it me just being so used to Flats that makes me want to put them on the Streamer or should I give another type of string a chance? Will a Steamer sound strange with Flats or is it all in the ear of the beholder? I have an EBMM SUB which I think is just fine with Rounds so I'm not a slave to Flats. Mind you, I wonder what the SUB would sound like with Flats. The other thought is with having five basses should I have them all with Flats? So you see it is a bit of mind rambling here but if anyone wants to join in or tell me I'm a silly bugger please do so.
21. Thanks Matt. It's always good to get things confirmed.

This is my 1978 Martin D28. I am the original owner. I bought the guitar at Sudbury Music in Sheffiled and it cost me £525. The guitar has aged along with me and I have to say that the Martin just keeps getting better and better - unlike me!
23.
Here's a chart from the G&L forum listing allen key sizes. http://guitarsbyleo....c.php?f=13&t=43 For Tribute models refer to the metric table. According to this the trussrod is 4mm.
Thanks muchly!
24. Thanks Matt. Much appreciated.
25. Does anyone know the size of allen key which will fit the saddles on a G&L Tribute L2500?
